[Q] Battery % increase with reboot?

Last night my phone was down to like 5% so I plugged it into the charger and kept using it. It was plugged in for maybe 10 minutes when I got another bettery warning that my device was at 14% (the plug had come out). Since I was almost done, I decided to leave it unplugged since the plug gets in the way anyway. Shortly thereafter, I think the Volume+ app caused my phone to crash. It just turned off. When I turned it back on, my battery was reporting 39%! I wondered if it was a fluke, so to test, I switched to 4G from WiFi on, listened to music, and continued to use my device to see if I did indeed have more time with it. It went for another 40 minutes or so before the battery was back down to 5% and I plugged it back in and went to bed.
What gives? I feel like my battery life is exceptionally awful, but I thought I was experiencing the Android OS awake thing, since my awake times do seem to be pretty high, like 50% of my time on battery even though the screen is probably on for less than 25% of my time on battery and I only have google apps set to sync in the background. Last night's mysterious battery increase now leads me to think differently though.
Are my battery stats out of whack? I'm not rooted yet so I can't reset them that I know of. I am planning to tackle it this weekend, though. I was waiting to make sure the phone doesn't have any issues so I didn't have to go through relocking it to return it.

The battery and the OS become mismatched if you restart while charging. The OS will report a "faster drain" when it reality itsvjust trying to match back up with the battery.

Battery Stuck at "100% - Not Charging"

After I finished charging my tablet to 100% today, I set it down and went on with my tasks for the day. Checking it here and there, I didn't realize until now that the battery has remained at 100% for the past six hours. I have tried powering down and booting back up as well as plugging the tablet in briefly.
Both the battery menu and Dashclock display "Not charging" instead of "Discharging." When I plug the tablet in, it immediately tells me that it is fully charged.
So needless to say, I'm looking for a solution, preferably simple. Factory reset is a last resort. I'm running an unlocked and rooted Nexus 7 (2013) with stock 4.3, so no third-party ROMs or kernels messing with the battery.
This issue is ironic because I was pretty close to fully-charged last night (80-90%) and when I woke up, I was at ~50% and the battery menu displaying that "Android OS" was hogging 50% of my battery usage. Normally screen comes out on top. I attributed this to my home Wi-Fi router's flakiness, rebooted the router, and the tablet seemed to restore to the correct battery usage levels.

this actually happened to me the other day. left the n7 on the wireless charger overnight and woke up to battery stuck at 100%. at first I thought I was getting some stupid crazy awesome battery life, but then realized it was just stuck.
i did a factory reset to "fix it"...

Nexus 7 1st gen had that same issue. Mine resolves itself after a few charge cycles. Basically the % just gets pinned @ 100% and starts draining down when in reality the tablet might be ~70-80%. Just keep using it and it'll drop. Problem is, since the calibration is off, using it while you have this issue to ~20-30% may cause it to run out of juice and shut off on you since in reality it would be 0%. So I'd use it down a lil bit and put it back on the charger. I just didn't think the new one would have the same problem :\

Have you tried booting into the recovery to see if the battery percent is correctly displayed there?

I ended up booting into TWRP, where the battery displayed as 100%. It may have just been some sweet battery life, but it actually seems like it was stuck, or at least discharging at a very slow rate. Down to 87% currently, so it was fixed after I booted into recovery. Thankfully, just a hiccup and no factory reset necessary.
Experienced another random reboot today, but lucky me, I get to save that for another thread!

So this has become a common problem for me now. every time i fully charge the N7 and leave it plugged in the battery percentage gets stuck. rebooting in recovery gets it unstuck but throws off the calibration/percentage.

Charging and Power problems

I bought my Xperia Arc S LT18 in April 2012. Up until now, my phone has served me well. As with most modern smartphones, the battery will start to die. And I'm in the marker for a new battery, however. Last night, I noticed my phone would not charge, so I decided to just turn the phone off and go to sleep, assuming I would have at lease some battery left. I was wrong.
My phone was dead, after much time and effort, I managed to turn my phone on and wiggle the charger around enough so it could get a connection and charge. However, the charge does not hold. It will get to around about 3-5% then just drain, as if I unplugged the USB cable. I've tried everything I can think of to try and speed up the process of charging (Offline mode, Power saver underclock (currently at 456MHz) lowest screen brightness etc.) but it will only get to about 4% charge. I get the I need a new battery but this is just ridicules.
I've ran out of options, I'm going to bed soon and I'm going to leave it on charge over night.
In case it matters I have the stock battery, used many chargers and USB cables over the time I've had my phone, using the Ultimate HD custom ROM.

Not sure if this is allowed but bumping, I'm at my wits end and I really have no clue what the next move is.
I've left it on charge all day and the problem is still occurring. Should I buy a new battery?

Moto 360 won't go past 92% charging

Hey guys just checking in if anybody has had this issue and a solution. My moto 360 charges up until 92% and then discharges after that point. It never gets to a 100%. I've tried rebooting the device, even resetting it and it's still stuck at 92%. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I was having the same problem. I let the moto 360 battery run out completely until the watch turned off, then I let it charge on the dock overnight. It sits at 100% now, but the dock light never goes off.
cycling the battery a couple times might help, it did for me at least.

For me it didn't get past 98% for a good 4 hours within the first few days. So it's all about the charging cycles. Well for me anyways. Mine charges pretty quick to 100% now without much issue. This is with the 4.4w.1 update of course.

I just received mine yesterday, set it up, charged to about 97% last night and turned it off. Woke up this morning and finished the charge before leaving for work so that I was starting with a clean 100%. So far this morning I've been playing with it pretty heavily and showing it off to people at work but did notice that the percentages have been swinging back and forth a few times, like for example, after a period of heavy activity I checked the battery and it was at 94% but in checking a few minutes later it was up to 95%.
This sort of reminds me of when I flash a new AOSP rom on my phone and it takes a day or so for the battery and software to get in sync with each other. The graphs on battery history (still talking about the phone) show percentage going up a little, like the software predicts what it should be but then somehow determines that it has overcompensated and credits you a few percentage points. After a few days this effect goes away on the phone and it appears to settle.

Happened to me maybe 3 times. I dont know what it is. Sometimes restarting works. I even flipped the watch upside down and that worked. one time it stuck at 97% and after it restarted, it showed 100%

Since the new update the dock light won't turn off.

I can honestly say that I found the issue of the Moto 360 getting stuck while charges, since I bought it almost 3 weeks ago I hadn't been able to get a full charge in my bedroom, I live in Puerto Rico and here is basically Summer all year, average temperatures 80-85 with lower around 65 degrees on Christmas time and highest around 95-100% during July and August, plus 75-90% humidity. Well, with all that said, my bedroom is closed all day, so when I get home it's very hot, as soon as I get there I open windows and all doors but it takes a while to get it cooler. Since I got the Moto 360, I was getting home, changing clothes and putting the watch to charge, it never fully charged, I've tried everything suggested here and other forums, the only place it charged completely was on my Family Room where I have a lot of ventilation and is way colder than my bedroom.
Last Wednesday I got home and just turn the A/C on as soon as I got there, 30 minutes later I put my watch to charge and it charged fully for the first time, so immediately I realized that the only difference this time was that the room was cooler. So I decided to make some tests and I have concluded that every time I put my phone to charge in a cool room it charges completely, but as soon as I try to do it in a warm or hot room it never fully charges, it's obvious that the watch gets warm and hotter while charging so if the environment in which you are charging it it's even hotter it just stops charging, maybe to just protect itself or something.
Those of you with the same issue, just try this and see what happens. Good luck

My Moto 360 seems to be stuck at 83 or 84% after a full night on the charger...
It's been the case for the two previous nights, at least.
I've tried restarting the watch, before putting it again on the charger -> No change, still stuck at 84%.
I've then tried resetting it, reinstalling and charging -> No change, still stuck at 84%
After reading posts where people stated that a complete discharge/recharge cycle would let them get back to 100% charge, I tried that as well.
The good news is that it took 28h for my watch's battery to deplete completely, quite significantly more than what I expected.
The bad news is that it charged up to 85%, then down to 83/84% again while seated on the charger.
In a desperate attempt to find something else to try, I put my Moto 360 on another Qi charger, and the battery level climbed up to 92%, which was encouraging... Unfortunately, it stopped there, and didn't go up to 100%, so I don't know what I can make of all this.
As for the theory about the room temperature, it's always been the same here, between 20 and 25°C (70-75°F), so not anything I would call hot.

So I got mine a few days ago and I've noticed when on the charger I get 2 different level of screen brightness. I've also had the problem of only getting 94% some times 97% but what I found that worked was that if I turn the watch off then put it on the charger it turns on and the charging display is really dim and it gets to 100%. If I just put it on the charger the display does not get as dim. The fastest and best charge is with the display off I've been playing with getting this done but haven't found a sure way to get the display off while charging.

I think there is something to the temperature idea. When I first got it, the weather was pleasant, never going above the upper 70s, so my living room was also pleasant, and it charged to 100% within an hour with no problems. Since the cursed summer heat, of 85-90 everyday, I can't get it past 98%. Which is not too bad, but I can't help waiting for another cooler day (hopefully before the fall) to see if it can get to 100% quickly again.

I do not have any problems getting my 360 to charge to 100%. What I do when charging is to set the 360 on its charger. Then with my phone I turn on Ambient Screen. When the 360 screen dims I turn off the Ambient screen. This keeps the 360 screen dark for quite a while. Works for me.

Battery Replacement Problems

Hi, recently I replaced that battery of my mi9se by myself (so it is possible that I screwed up in some way), afterwards the new battery started to last incredibly less than before, having a very strange behaviour concerning its charge level: let's say the phone is charged to 100%, then in the next hour or so the battery drains normally, let's say to 80%, then it starts freefalling to 60/50% then the phone dies at 40/50%. When I connect the charger, apparently the battery is at a dead 0%, it takes very little time to recharge to 100% and the cycle continues.
Obviously this situation is not sustainable in any way, yesterday evening I was on a call with my gf, my phone died at 70%, I connected it to the charger and powered it up, as soon as it booted it was at 10%, then I disconnected it for flipping the connector and it died again... Another boot and it jumped straight to 43%. I don't know what to do...
The situation wasn't so critical at first, but I also tried to order a third battery, but the results are the same.
Another thing to note is that I also changed the charger pcb, the one onto it is soldered the usb-c connector, because it was flimsy af. I thought the cause of my problems may have been the crappy one, advertised as new but probably used, that I ordered from china. But I also tried to replace it with the old original one with no apparent changes besides the fact that now the charger doesn't remain plugged as an added bonus (that was the initial reason that led me to change it in the first place).
Software notes:
I'm currently running the latest official build of lineageOS, I could try to do a software update, but idk if it could change something...
I have root access with magisk (if some low level root operations are needed I should be able to perform them)
I was running Advanced Charging Controller (https://github.com/VR-25/acc), that I uninstalled yesterday when it came to my mind that it may be messing with the battery readings, but without success.
I should also note that I run several calibration cycles as advertised on many forums: charge to 100%, let it die by battery drain and charge it again to 100% without interruption and without powering it up. No improvements.
Sadly I study offsite and I left the old battery at home, so I have to wait till next friday if some solutions involve using the old battery.
Thanks for saving me and my phone, that, beside his battery, it still works like a charm! Switching to lineage seemed to give him another 2/3 years of life and I really wanted to keep it as long as it works.
