I dropped my phone while hiking and cracked the screen. I also noticed that my 3G/LTE reception is now sporadic and my GPS signal also cuts out more often. I replaced the screen and looked for damage or loose parts but couldn't find anything. Are the 3g/LTE and GPS antennas replaceable on this phone or am I out of luck? Also wondering where the antennas are located on this phone. I tried looking online but was unable to find anything.

So I recently was able to replace my Samsung Fascinate because of the ED05 Update not fixing the missed call problem.
I recieved my DInc2 yesterday at 3pm & have noticed that it takes a minute or more to open links from Twitter in Dolphin browser hd and that the 3G icon and bars fluxuates from no bars, no 3g icon to full bars to 2 bars etc..
Just wondering if you guys no of a simple fix, if its a known issue, and your thoughts
Thanks

If you're not in a very well covered area, it seems the Inc2 doesn't work so well. For me, being in a well covered area, data functionality is actually exceptional (2mbit speeds not uncommon, usually 1+mbit in most areas, and only a few areas under 1mbit).
This seems to stem from the type of antenna being used. There is a discussion on trying to figure out the best/easiest way to fix this. So far what has been tried is aluminum foil in the back cover (this doesn't seem very well substantiated), small bus/magnet wire (personally tested and works to boost signal, but may not be worth the trouble), and the possibility of conductive ink to extend the existing antenna (possibly the best solution...if it works at all).

Anyone else experiencing really poor wifi signal? I'm literally a couple feet away from the access point and my signal strength looks to be under 50%

My wife and I do not have that problem at all.

This happened with my note 1. Try pressing down on the antenna pad. If your signal gets better, you have a loose connection. Unfortunately you need to open the phone to fix it. The little springs that make contact are staying compressed and not bouncing up to make contact.
The Note 2 may use a similar design.
The note 1 has the wifi antenna as a sticker next to the sum card slot
I had same symptoms. More than a foot away, lose half signal. Leave the room, 1 bar. Other end of the house, nothing.
Even a range extender didn't help.
Bent the spring back up making good contact, full bars everywhere.

so i just a got a used s3, probably launch model. very happy with it. only problem is the signal. no matter where i am, as soon as i use the data, it instant drop to zero bars, 100-125 dbm making data unusable.
I've tried troubleshooting it by disconnecting the antenna cable and saw that it made no difference. I would think that if you removed the antenna cable, you would either get no signal or bad. could it be i have a bad antenna cable or the connector on motherboard? or is that the wifi antenna?
any more way to narrow it down or is it a s3/sprint issue etc
Thanks

No I get fine signal so its not a known issue across all s3 but u might have removed the WiFi cable if your signal didn't stop I would suggest trying to use odin to restore to stock again maybe the build your running has issues if that doesnt work i would suggest take it to sprint and show them the issue if they can repair it its free if not they order u a replacement for $30

Doesn't matter if u have TEP if for any reason you need a replacement phone while your still in contract and your phone is activated and is not physically damage or water damage then u can get a replacement for $30 unless your screen is cracked which is of course more ive done that with several devices in the past

Does anyone else have this issue? My GPS loses connection to the satellites every couple minutes. And yes, I have the latest map update.
Must be the bug in update. Try to use 3rd party app! Just because i never updated mine, and is working like a charm

The GPS in my phone is not very accurate. Maybe its just this phone. I only get relatively good GPS reception at night.

Thanks guys. I'm starting to think it may just be this phone as well. The first map told me I was 3 miles away from my house....lol...and the second was accurate but keeps dropping the signal. I do have carhome. I'll try that and see what happens.
I also have this issue though the GPS (which is used a lot by me) was quite OK in the beginning after I bought my LG OG PRO.
I read in one of the Samsung NOTE forums that people mention the same problem claiming that the drops come when there is an "interruption" (which can be an incoming call or SMS or switching from 3G antenna to 3.5G for example). After reading this I realized that my GPS gets lost always after an incoming call plus I see at least a couple of places along my daily driving routine where GPS is lost exactly at the same place every day (making antenna switch assumption logical).
There were no any conclusions or suggested solutions in these forums, people even do not know if it is software or hardware related.
Anyone has such an issue too? Any recommendations for possible fix?
I can't believe but it seems I solved the problem with GPS - 15-20 seconds for GPS lock, no dropping and GPS test application shows very nice picture of 8-9 satellites constantly locked up while most of the signal bars are yellow (i.e. the signal strength is good).
I searched a lot as it really bothered me because I use my GPS very much plus I can say that beside this annoying thing I am very satisfied with my LG OG Pro, but nothing helped until I found this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBpNtWvY454 (it explains the solution for Nexus 5, but my problem is identical)
Basically, the problem is that there are special contacts on the motherboard connected to the GPS antenna which is part of the back cover and the contacts are not tightened well to the GPS antenna (look at the attached picture where I put the red arrows at the relevant places). Due to the bad touch between the contacts and the antenna, the GPS does not work properly. So, all you need to do is to remove your back cover, gently "un-glue" the GPS antenna end (the rectangle part on the back cover containing 2 golden dots), lift it up a little and put a piece of paper that will tighten the antenna and mother board contacts when the back cover is returned. Good luck.
It is NFC Antenna, you cant fix GPS this way.
I have same issue, but i think NFC and GPS antennas are different. I am disassemble the phone and pull up all golden springs - but gps still very weak(((
Any solution?
same GPS problem for my g pro.
GPS is weaker and weaker
I realigned all the pins inside the phone and fixed it for a bit, but the signal was still weak. I figured it was the modem. I installed a custom rom and it worked like a charm!
So in one room in second floor there is 1 bar wifi. My i9195 disconnects after sometimes and have to wait until it connects while others have no problems. With other phones (s2, lg 70.....) it don't disconnect and everything perfect. Even they can brows in third floor and for me no chance to connect wifi and browse etc. Is this problem with phone or this phone has bad anttena? If someone has same problem with i9190 please respond is everything Ok.

I recently got S4 Mini i9195, and noticed same problem, wifi was absolutely poor. I started searching on the internet, found where the antenna is, and decided to take my device apart. And you wouldn´t believe what I found.... all other antenna contacts on motherboard are bent, they are in a ˂ shape - so they can flex and touch antennas integrated in middle frame chassis. Wifi antenna contact was absolutely straight, parallel with the MB, so there was no way it can touch antenna on the chassis. I used needle and carefully bent the contact in correct shape, assembled phone and voila - wifi signal is full.
It seems it was a production error, I´m surprised nobody noticed it before.
