Thanks so much for this - I have looked at the how to install the rom but can i ask one question? I tried to install the custom recovery in TWRP which found the device but when installing it ran the TWRP 2.6 and not 2.7.0.1 and when i tried to reboot in recovery i got a bootloop so had to reflash the stock rom. I am not sure if this caused the bootloop but because I dont want to make the same mistake again so can you step me through how to get the recovery ready prior to Intalling the rom in twrp??
first you must be on the 4.4.2 bootloader to flash this rom (flash P605XXUCNE2 with odin) 2 :make a fullwipe 3: flash TWRP 2.7.0.1(LTE) with odin 4: flash xKat v3.1 .The end
Hey guys, I'm sorry.. I need some help and it is related to that room.. I hope you can help me, yesterday I unlocked the bootloader, rooted the phone and installed twrp custom recovery with Hasoon2000's toolkit, after a nandroid, I wiped Dalvik, Cache and Factory reset, when I tried to install the rom it starts installing it and after a little bit it just says 'failed', could it be that the custom recovery is outdated? If so, how can I update it? Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english.
EDIT: I found that in order to install kit kat roms I need a custom recovery with SELinux support like TWRP 2.7.0 but, How do I update from an earlier version of TWRP?
Install new recovery just like you installed your current recovery. Download new recovery with SElinux support and in toolkit choose flash your own recovery.
Hello Everyone
I have Samsung Galaxy GT-N5100 with XXDNJ2 firmware (Indonesian Region)
I'm going to backing up my phone by NANDROID BACKUP
Later then I flashed custom recovery on my phone (advanced CWM and TWRP)
I've flashed via Odin, after rebooting to recovery mode, it didn't get to Custom recovery
It's still on stock recovery
After that I tried to flashed it via Android Toolkit and get the same
I've also did "fix reboot to stock recovery after flashed custom recovery" via Android toolkit
and still the same
Can you help me to solve the problem?
Sorry for my bad English
So first of i have installed CM12 on my Xperia M (SS). i noticed you have to flash the "Boot.img) in the zip file for CM12, the img file obviously has a recovey packed into it..
Is it possible to keep CWM Recovery if i flash back to stock install cwm recovey and flash CM12 without flashing the "Boot.img" by cm?
Just search for persistent recovery by cucumber09. It flashes recovery to the now redundant fota partition. Flashing the boot.IMG doesn't touch the fota partition.
Didn't work
I tried that the other day and it didn't replace cyanogen recovery
Did you untick the box in developer settings that says update cyanogen recovery?

Nope, it was unticked i left it in case it caused problems. I finally got TWRP Recovery working yesterday
I meant to say that it needs to be unticked.
