Are you using you old unlock token? You will need to go through the HTC dev procedure to get a new one if you are.

Yes the old unlock token do I have to get a new one thought I could use the same one
I actually tried to go for a new code last Nite and it said incorrect details when it was exactly what it was and tried that twice which has left me in the dark now as I am s-off and need to be unlocked 2

Hello guys.
When you use htcdev.com to unlock your bootloader, you will have to provide a device identifier to HTC. Then you get an unlock code.
This way HTC knows you have unlocked, or at least tried to unlock your phone.
What I am looking for is someone with a completely unmodified HTC Wildfire S (factory state). So it must be S-ON and never have been unlocked before. Best would be a brand new Wildfire S.
What do I want to test?
Dump the /radio and the /misc partition before and after several events
---- on an unmodified WFS
---- on an umodified WFS having installed the HTCDEV RUU
Then we will try to unlock the phone without getting the unlock token from HTCDEV.
If that works we will again dump some partitions to see what has changed.
As you may probably be new to this with an unlocked phone I will guide you to all the steps needed. There is nothing to worry about your phone. If it does not work we will make your phone as it was before.
I look forward to getting help in this matter. If it works out this will make the unlocking process easier and will keep your warranty.
Please take you about an hour time to step it all through.
Thanks

Sounds like a plan... Got mine A-off months ago, before HTC dev bl unlock existed.

at first, you will need the following things:
- Stock RUU
- Stock Recovery Image
- relocked HBoot
Foolproof way is relock bootloader and flash ruu that matches your CID. Haven't read back too far in this thread, feeling lazy, make sure your HBoot version is below 1.36 as I'm assuming you'll be flashing ICS. I don't believe there are any JB ruu's available to date.

Well according to your own post you already have hboot 2.00.0029 which is the one from htc dev, you need to unlock it using the unlocktoken.bin from htc dev, you did follow ALL the instructions at htc dev including the email they sent you,?
Once you unlock bootloader flash a custom recovery best one is probably 4ext
Flash a new new rom then flash the boot.img.
Look around the forums for more info.

Well, that it is easy to solve. Relock your bootloader by booting in fastboot and typing:
Code:
fastboot oem lock
Then run the script. :good:

no.root the phone.it's more useful being rooted than being locked up anyways.
Ok so finally I will try rooting the phone with aahk2 but I know I will have to downgrade it to get root so will I be able to return to the latest version 2.3.5 ?
Thank for all the info. :good:
yep just see faq.
you will have rooted 2.3.5
My other question is ... How do I know the brand of my micro SD card ???
The only info on it is: 2GB Micro SD

Thank you again,
Okay i thought i would share this with you so last night i flashed latest RUU then i s-on not thinking tried running exploit it said it worked them booted into bootloader and locked it then i realized crap it never s-off i was still s-on so i was stuck in a big pickle. So i call HTC they said a dev expert will call your around 12 AM your time. So i get the call and i answered what's your problem so i explained then he has me get a unlock token from my device and email it to him. He goes okay so your locked s-on right i said yes on Verizon he told me he felt bad and was gonna help me out. So he sends me a new firmware and tells me to flash it so i flashed it in RUU mode and it past verification and installed firmware he changed my cid to super cid and had me unlock the phone via HTC Dev now i will not say who he is as i promised i do not want him losing his job but thank you very much very great full. I then asked why you do it that way can't you just get my unlock code on VZW_001 cid he said not without raising to much suspicion. If your wondering why he changed my cid.
Please comment if you've experienced similar situations.

That was an amazing thing you just described. By any chance, would you mind
uploading that RUU they so kindly sent to a dropbox or other that is easy for you
so's we can fiddle with it? Thx..
What version of sense are you talking about 5.5 or 6.0
You're saying someone from HTCdev site unlocked your Verizon phone? How did you install firmware on a s-on bootloader locked device. Do we have a working bootstrapper i am not aware of?
I know congress just did something making phone unlocking legal again. Maybe that's why he helped you out.

That's in reference to carrier unlocking, not bootloader unlocking.
No I'm talking about bootloader not carrier I am now running cynaogenmod 11 and I was in sense 6 4.4.2 kitkat. They said the firmware was able to flash because he gave it HTC verification keys.

what does he get out of making it up? i think its nice to hear something positive like this, for a change.
Holy run-on sentence, Batman.
Hi, I did the bootloader unlock, then flashed twrp recovery and rooted my one m8 to remove some default system apps. I did this as I liked the htc 10 concept, so followed it. Now after all that I, I did a reset of my phone to remove root and flashed back the original recovery file. And I relocked the bootloader to try to make it all back to normal and thinking that warning sign "This build is for development purposes only n so on..." will go. But the problem came when i did the relock of the bootloader, and restarted the phone I got stuck in fastboot/hboot. Restarted many times even did factory reset from stock recovery but still stuck on fastboot/hboot. So I had no option to unlock bootloader again and get my phone working .
Please I want to remove the "This build is for development purposes only n so on..." being in unlock bootloader or locked bootloader doesn't matter .
As you can see the message in this image : http://img.wonderhowto.com/img/original/76/55/63535576749449/0/635355767494497655.jpg
