I have an "international" H815 that seems to reboot at random times. A few times simply answering a phone call it caused a reboot. The IMEI says its from Taiwan. It is less that a year old. I am in the US. Do I send it to LG Taiwan for warranty repairs? If yes, has anyone done it? Their web site is in Chinese which I do not speak.
Thanks

Sorting this out but from Canada. I tried customer care, was met with "Phone was not sold here so there is no warranty." Attempting to use social media to get something else done.
I'll update if they reply.
Hey Guys, I have been facing this boot loop since 3rd Jan. I inquired with the service station and they will either change the chipset board of your Phone or give you a new one. My advise is to go for a new one with S/N starting with 510 or above as this problem is with all the LG G4 with S/N starting with 505-509. Am in Oman now and gonna claim my warranty in Dubai.
Where did you buy the phone? What store? In Germany, I can ask the retailer to send the phone in for repairs. The retailer then sends it to the manufacturer/licensed repair workshop. That's because of German warranty law, to which a seller is bound. You might wanna check US law regarding warranty.
Quick update:
I got a response from LG Taiwan
"Dear customer:
Thank you for choosing LG.
Regarding your inquiry. Please contact our service center
We will provide repair services. Thank you!!

I called the company listed, luckily they had someone who spoke English. Bad news is they said the cost to send the phone in, replace the motherboard and send it back to Canada would be more than the cost to replace the phone. I asked about it being covered under factory warranty and mentioned the e-mail above.. the tech asked me to speak to LG.
Send LG another e-mail with the details of the conversation with the repair center, waiting to hear back from that. Given this experience I think I'm going to give LG Canada another go. In the meantime this G4 is sitting dead on my desk.
This is insane.
Did you have any luck in getting it repaired?
Short answer is no. LG asked me to send the phone to a friend in Taiwan so the friend can assist in the repair.. I can't say I have any friends in Taiwan so I let it go. Bought a Samsung S6 that gave me issues as well then got a handed down iPhone.
Hello everybody
My LG G3 D855 phone faced a problem with blue screen and restarts frequently. The phone repair man told me it cannot be fixed as the problem is in the CPU, and the only solution is to change motherboard.
I searched many websites and found original motherboards that can be shipped to my country from China.
my question is: it safe to buy replacement motherboard from websites like Alibaba (Aliexpress) , ebay..etc?
Thanks
Hello,
I got same issue and I also want to to buy from Ali Express, what was your experience in this case?
Thanks
have had my g3 for a year now unfortunately have run into some hardware problem affecting how it reads the sim card. noone can fix it. and lg in germany said they cant do anything about it since its a d855 but an asian model so they cant touch it. so i think i need motherboard replacement any suggestions where i can get one
ebay, amazon, you could buy one with a broken screen or so, may be cheaper
Hello my lg g4 vs986 serial no starts with 409(weird)...so i check imei no on site that provide manufacturing date by imei... so mine g4 is manufactured on jul 2015... so my question is that will it bootloop soon? all lg g4 are affected by bootloop or just specific batch?
Probably just a certain batch
i asked an lg rep why my warranty date code (about phone --> hardware info --> warranty date code) stated "unavailable" and he said that it means it was a newer batch where the bootloop was fixed. Also, on that particular g4 the sticker under the batter had a large ! with a circle around it in the top right hand corner of the sticker. My other g4 (which did indeed bootloop, has a completely different sticker w/ no ! & circle. FYI ...don't know if that helps you at all or not
Also, I'd heard the problems were primarily w/ 505 - 508 batches
Yes, it will eventually bootloop surely as the sun rises. When it does, contact LG USA via chat and they should arrange for a warranty repair even though the website will tell you it's out of warranty. I had a serial number 510 bootloop and got fixed. All my original bootloop repaired VS986 came back with label untouched and mainboards supposedly replaced.

Hi guys,
Wanted to ask if it is possible to swap the model of the motherboard on LG G4.
I have a broken H815 (bootloop) but the housing and display are OK.
I want to get a mother board from Korean Model F500L S K. Are they the same dimensions and does korean mainboard fit on my housing and connect to camera display etc?
And are the korean models affected by the boot loop since I'm no seeing any of them on the internet.
Yes, the motherboards have the same dimensions. It will work
Korean version probably not as popular
Get h815 again
Korean version has similar mobo as the H815, but as mentioned above, its not that that's why you dont see them bootlooped. Only advantage of the F500 is the new 7.0 FW.
Bootloop is a known problem of the LG G4.
The cause is a loose contact on the PCB.
LG offers a free repair.
Owners of a LG G4 affected by the bootloop are requested by the company to contact their mobile operator to initiate the repair process.
Customers who have purchased the G4 in free trade are kindly requested to contact LG support directly.
The repair takes place within the framework of the guarantee conditions and is therefore not associated with costs for the owner.
In addition, the company apologizes for the inconvenience that the previous solutions have brought to customers.
Previous misdiagnosis resulted in the replacement of wrong parts of the smartphone.

Nah, I'm not interested on the os version.
I just was wondering if F500's have less bootloop issues.

Well Thank YOU very much for the answer, I'm very aware why the bootloop problem was occurring and know the whole history of the problem.
But I live in Kosovo and we don't have an official lg retail store.
I contacted LG Serbia and explained them my situation. But they were willing to help just the cases when phones where bought in Serbia, so nothing for me :crying:
Since you provided some information about "free trade" phones. Is there still a chance for me to get a fix for my phone. Since when it bootlooped it was only 8 months old. So well under the "1 year warranty policy".
Thank You Very much again.
The F500 which is the Korean version I think has LTE bands/frequencies missing or disabled which makes it a no go for use in western europe at least. It might be okay on some networks depending on what frequencies your network provider uses but in general I'm sure the F500 is the most limited version when it comes to working frequencies so it would be much better to get H815 or H811. The F500 mobo is exactly the same shape as other models btw.

Your welcome. My first G4 was a F500 and I found that 2g didn't work in bad signal areas so I couldn't even make a phone call. Also 4G+ didn't work either. It was possible to put H815 firmware on it but that did NOT enable the missing frequencies so I had to buy a new one.

Yeah a phone with no 2G and 4G is probably useless.
But now I wonder if H811 European models, suffer less from bootloop, because if I decide to buy a new mother board the last thing I want to happen is my phone dying again.
I talked to a mobile phone shop owner here and he told me that they just returned many G4 since they still bootlooping (after only 1 month of use). And they won't sell them anymore.

I bought a refurbished G4 for 170 euro. It has a s/n of 701, in other works very recently manufactured....I have it working fine for 5 months now with no issues at all. So I would only buy one with serial 609 upwards. It's not know for certain which one is okay but the more recent the better. It does not matter at all whether is F500/H815/H811/etc where bootloop issue is concerned.

Thank you so much for the advice.
Yesterday I found a G4 H811 in a mobile shop here. But it was S/N 401 so a big NO NO for that
I will be thinking of buying a brand new mother board from china and replace it myself and it is half the price of a new phone.

I asked the China supplier what was the serial number and he woulnt tell me. Thls means that althought the board is new and unused it may still be an old one with bootloop issue down the line.
The best thing to do is make sure s/n is 701 up. You can ask eBay seller what is s/n by email before buying if buying used one. They will be happy to tell you. That what I did and enjoying fone since!

Hi, will a LG G4 Stylus mainboard fit inside a "normal" Lg G4 case? I have a working LG G4 Stylus mainboard and a friend has a LG G4 with damaged mainboard.
Thanks in advance
