[REQUEST] Can Someone Make a zip rom for MIUI

There was a released of MIUI rom for Nexus 7 2013.
You can find it here http://en.miui.com/thread-16879-1-1.html
I'm doubt if it supports using Multirom. A zip that is capable in normal flashing in the recovery.

It's funny that our Nexus 7 is specified as "Unknown Device" in the list. Anyway i'll give it a try in a while.
I've tried the normal version on miui.com today by flashing it, but I lose the recovery that I used to do the trick. There's no root pre-applied in the rom, you have to flash it on your own.
By the way the ROM works great besides some text still in chinese, and some other little things, anyway this MIUIv6 a complete copy of iOS 7, it even has the same notification sound!

no,miui is quite differrent,I have xiaomi mi2s which is running stock official miui.com,actually xiaomi is miui
they have 2 rom stable version and developer version, stable didn't have root permission, dev have root permission,we can disable root perms,or enable it anytime with dev version.
the unofficial from miuiandroid.com is dev version only,it basically miui.com rom but have more language then the official, and removed chinese apps, and other stuff,it's dev version only so it must have root permission, can enable or disable it also..
but that's for my xiaomi phone, not sure for other device but I think they'll be the same..cmiiw
the differences of miui.com and miuiandroid.com you can read it here I guess

you're welcome..I've tried both but they still buged,it's first release so we can't expect much from it,and the dev said they still updating the rom to fix reported bugs
you might use latest twrp because somehow root permission lose after flashing the rom,and with twrp we can install superuser to make it root
read the tutors there's some people discussing on how to install it right for nexus 7
I tried all they said but still can't get rid the bugs,at least I can root it now

I've just tried the miuiandroid.com rom, and it's not the same as the official one.. yeah it is clean and fully english and that's great but there are lot of graphical glitches and somethings don't even work. Some parts are missing: there's no lockscreen etc.

Hi, I flashed MIUI from the Miui web site on my Nexus 7 II and I love this rom. However, first I got a message that Gapp process had stopped. Now, the Play Store says no connection and I cannot download anything. Could you please tell me which gapps you flashed? Also, did I lose my TWRP recovery and root by flashing this ROM? Please let me know. Thanks.

do you full wipe it (factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache) before install?
which one do you install,
miui.com (official)
http://en.miui.com/thread-16879-1-1.html
or muiandroid.com (multilang/unofficial)
http://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/4-3-14.23776/
if miui.com I guess you can use this small gapps
https://www.dropbox.com/s/m8kny92fe4xd5qz/12-14_GApps_Core_4.4.2_signed.zip
if miuiandroid.com you can find link to download gapps in the first page of the thread
after install don't flash the gapps yet, reboot the phone and do the setup, after setup finish then you can flash the gapps,if you flash the gapps straight after flashing the rom,you might get errors,do this for both version,miui.com or miuiandroid.com.
root is lose if you install this rom but TWRP is not (I guess ),maybe they still trying to fix this, because as long as I know miui rom is prerooted so we don't have to root manually again, use TWRP recovery not CWM and root it from TWRP recovery, after flashing you need to update the super user before root permission can be used..remember to backup your phone before flash and clean install it with TWRP (factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache)

Mine was a clean stock 12.1 install first, then update applied from recovery to 13
Mine is working just fine, no problems to report at all..... hrmm so, I wonder what's different

note super su stock dosn't work but the beta does
I'm I noob here and I don't understand what everybody's talking about here. From my understanding, a flashable COS13 zip is out in the open and works? How should I go about flashing it if I want to keep TWRP recovery? Do I have to do a clean install?

as far as I am aware there is NO COS 13 zip for the crackling, only this incremental update (ie an update from 12.1, so that needs to be installed as a base first and then the update flashed from recovery)
There is CM 13, both snapshots and nightlies that an be flashed from TWRP as ZIPs
TWRP an be flashed from fastboot whenever you like, so that shouldn't cause you any major concerns :good:

Personally I would ensure I have backed up, but in theory ..Yes, though if it were me.. I would, backup, wipe, flash stock recovery, update
I am afraid I can't answer fully, as I always flash clean...soz

Ok. Well, if I backup beforehand then I should be fine if anything goes wrong. One last question though, do I need stock recovery in order to flash the zip?

xPosed and Cataclysm ROM

Hi all,
I'm trying to install Xposed on cataclysm from. I flash the zip file, but after optimization of applications I have a force close of the UI system app. Then I need to uninstall the framework in order to restore the system. Anyone have some suggestions? Any other ROM like cataclysm with Xposed already in?
Thanks all
I know it's not an answer to your question, but I'd advise against using a ROM that's been discontinued half a year ago. Though Cataclysm was a great ROM i moved on to Pure Nexus myself. Works great with Xposed.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried to install it but has some problem with the root. I flashed the zip of SuperSU but it start to boot loop. For that I turned back to cataclysm. I will wait of someone has some ideas... In case I will install pure and try again!

You're doing something wrong.
Are you using the correct Xposed? Version 86? X64?
Are you on the latest Pure Nexus and latest Vendor img?
Are you using latest SU? 2.76 ?
If you're saying you are having bootloops with Cataclysm, I and everyone else will not help you. That ROM is dead, it cannot be compatible with anything current.

Don't know, haven't used that feature ever on any ROM.
I think Gravitybox has it though? not sure.
Anyway, yeah, just use a different one, that is currently supported. Otherwise it's impossible to pin-point a ROM-SuperSu conflict.

Some people reported bootloops when flashing in the wrong order. If you clean flash pure Nexus and stick to the flashing instruction there should not be a problem.

Can I extract a kernel from one ROM for use in with another ROM?

I'm currently using LineageOS 14.1 on my M8. It's default kernel doesn't have the kexec hardboot patch, so I started looking for other kernels. I couldn't find any, as almost all of them for some odd reason seemed to be either Sense or GPE based, and not AOSP. So I have yet to find an AOSP Nougat kernel for my device.
Could I safely use a kernel from say, Resurrection Remix 5.8.0 with LineageOS 14.1? Would I encounter any performance issues? Could it damage my hardware? Does the kernel have to match the exact Android version?
I noticed the ROM has a boot.img file that can be extracted. Would I just need to flash this?
Sorry for all the questions, just looking to expand my knowledge on how android works.
Thanks!

you mean the os line in bootloader screen is empty ?
it's normal when you flash aosp rom
early on the very first twrp builds for this device there was a bug that wipe the os line ( that fixed long time ago )

Yes the os line is indeed empty.
I'm currently running asoip 6.2 mihranz unofficial build and the newest team m8 kernel.with the latest twrp for htc one m8.Sim card still isn't being read.I'm currently trying a clean flash just wipe data in twrp and flash the rom right?then kernel, then magisk, and gapps?Could it be possible that magisk is throwing off the sim card being read?I love the asoip rom the boot animation is great and so well done

try only the rom and kernel first and see how it goes
if detected then go and flash the rest if not you might need to report it to mihran in the thread i linked earlier
