Hi XDA i have a Galaxy Note 5 N920A
my issue is that i am unable to update to marshmallow because i have an at&t phone but i live outside USA so no OTA for me...
my build number is LMY47X.N920AUCU1AOGG
please anyone tell me in detail how to update it to marshmallow....
I am in a very similar position. Phone was bought from AT&T, brought to Canada, then placed on a different network. Build number is the same N920AUCU1AOGG. Don't have the option for the OTA. What are my options, flash then sidemount? If so which builds am I using?

Hello all,
Hope you're all enjoying the festive season!!!
Just a quick question as I'm getting conflicting info with my Google searches.
Galaxy Note II - UK (EE network so carrier unlocked) what is the latest Official Samsung Android version available???
Im currently on 4.1.1 but read on certain sites that 4.1.2 is available! Is this correct? I look on Samfirmware.com and cant find the 4.1.2 update and also when I scan for updates on my handset it also says no update is available...
Any confirmation available would be much appreciated

If your on ee I presume youve got the N7105 not the n700. Make sure you've got the right device model and then search sammobile firmware section
I'm running 4.1.2 the South African version on ee inn the uk with no problems. I think there isva polish and swedish one as well

it isn't released in uk, us etc. As they are too mainstream to have the update with bugs. They are first released in Poland. Then south Asian countries like India etc. that bugs are reported as quickly as possible.

No im n7100 - had the device since launch. The 7105 is the lte version which came later, which has no use in the UK at present as 4g isn't readily available and won't be for the next year or 2

Hi,
I have a Galaxy note ii 7105
I read everywhere that Jelly Bean 4.1.2 is out in the UK for OTA or Kies but i have been trying for a week and no sign of an update.
Any one know when it is coming or is there something I am doing wrong?
My device is
AP:N7105XXALIJ
CP:N7105BVALIG
CSC:N7105EVRALIC
I was given the phone as a gift and think it came from EE but it is unlocked and I have my O2 sim in it at the moment.
Any help advice, has anyone else managed to undate it over the air or via kies.
I dont want to root it as I only have a MAC (its a girl thing) so cant run any of the third party update software.
Let me know and is it totally frustrating to keep reading about this update and not be able to get it..
Cheers
Bex

Hi Bex
Look like the latest is what you have no one on lte is showing 4.1.2 as far as I can see
To be honest 4.1.2 on standard note 2 caused all kind of battery problems in not rushing to update my note 2
CSC is the code which determines where your phone comes from and which updates you have
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Thank you for that for that I will just have to sit and wait. I have to say that sucks this is the one downside of Andriod compared to Apple.

Alas Bex that is the downside with samsung they have a strange roll out for updates
Normally unlocked handsets get the update first but on my note 2 (not 4g) two mobile operators 3 and vodaphone have pushed out the 4.1.2 update first and im on unlocked version and havent got it so im spitting feathers

My CSC ends in ALJ4 and I am on BTU UK firmware. Does that mean my phone is unlocked? It is unbranded and I bought it from carphone warehouse as an upgrade for o2.
As I understand it, BTU is unlocked - it is the generic UK firmware ie not linked to a particular carrier.

Samsung really need to sort this out as this kind of lack of consistency will lose them users. I see why Nexus devices are so popular as they always get updates. I love my Nexus7 its a joy to uses. Shame my NoteII is stuck on 4.1.1 I am not going to root it but Samsung are opening themselves up to people hacking with there lack of updates.
Cheers

I bought a note 4 on AT&T from eBay I was stupid and didn't read the advert properly my fault. Am wondering would I be able to flash my note 4 to UK unlocked rom at all? So basically it would work exactly the same as a note 4 bought hands free in uk. I have read there is difficulties in flashing international versions to work on AT&T due to network frequency but not much detail going the other way around
You can't flash anything on the AT&T version. It doesn't even have root at the moment and the bootloader is locked so you'll probably want to sell it.

If it's network unlocked it will work in the UK with your sim. Don't know if lte will work.
Yeah lte works and currently on ee phone works fine but just wondering if am able to flash it and install custom rom or original Samsung rom
I gurantee the AT&T Note 4 will NEVER see its bootloader unlocked. At this point in the game, it probably won't even see root.
I've read somewhere the android L will make it difficult for att to look bootloader and also android L will allow Uninstalling bloating software.

I read the opposite regarding the bootloader & rooting phones.
Can anyone confirm this?
http://www.vcpost.com/articles/8973...-lollipop-verizon-s-samsung-galaxy-note-4.htm
"When verifying the update, the software version should now be LRX21T.G900VVRU2BOG5. The update is only 904 MB."
This is the update to Verizon Galaxy S5 for Lollipop 5.0 from July 21, 2015.
One of those copy cat articles. Multiple people post the same thing to try to pass themselves off as experts. Half the time the article barely makes sense. Google Verizon note 4 5.1.1 and you'll see once you go through a few links.

The writer is an idiot. He's writing the GS5 update as the Note 4 update. That update was for the Verizon GS5. There is no 5.1.1 update for the note 4 yet.

I think Sprint Note 4 got their update over a month ago, will we ever get our 5.1.1?

I think that Verizon will release the update in october. Most other carriers are doing so, therefore I assume Verizon will follow suit.

Does anyone know when the unlocked variant of Note 7 N930U will be available? I am just not buying a carrier branded one because of a lot of reasons...
I'm keeping close watch on this as well as I want to get the rom from it and install it on my TMO purchased Note 7. It's a good way to debloat and to get updates outside of when TMO says yes or no to them. I can't wait.
What reasons? If it's because of root, AT&T and Sprint variants have root.

I've had root on Android phones since the G1 but since the August patch to 6.0.1 it's just become to much of a pain in the ass to keep root and to have Android Pay. So the unlocked version of the rom doesn't come with a majority of Samsungs bloat ... it asks if you want to install the various apps during the first boot and you can say no. It doesn't come with the carrier bloat. These are the reasons. The only reason I've kept root on my Nexus 6P as long as I had was for greenify and with the Note 7 they've basically given that ability to the user without root. Folks have a lot of reasons to keep rooting ... I just don't. The OP might feel differently.
If you want the phone now, get the carrier Note 7 and then Odin flash the OS when Note 7 Unlocked is released.
For example, I bought the S7 Edge through AT&T but was able to Odin flash Unlocked software so phone is identical to unlocked version. I even got OTAs from Samsung directly. No root required and you can flash back to AT&T firmware and build if necessary.

Oh wow I didn't know that would work!? Is it because they are exactly identical? I remember that was not possible in the past with Samsung devices...
Yes, identical phones only difference is build and firmware. On AT&T, you lose VoLTe and HD Calling. On T Mobile, you still get wifi calling and VoLTE.
I Odin flashed my AT&T S7 Edge with no issues. No it is unlocked version.

This is great to know. thanks! Just a bit confusion, by "No it is unlocked version" do you mean that AT&T locked S7 edge converted to sim unlocked phone? Can use different carrier sim by flashing ROM of unlocked version?

Yes, S7 Edge converted to Sim unlocked US version with no carrier bloatware. Phone can be used with any US carrier. Basically, turning a AT&T S7 Edge into a non carrier phone.

Wow, I didn't know that. I was planning to sim-unlock TMobile locked Note 7 via some third party online service, but I guess I will now wait for the official ROM for SM-N930U and flash to SM-N930T. Thanks!
Update: Apparently this is not true. Some research helped me to understand that flashing ROM does not sim-unlock your device.
The Big IF being if Samsung releases a US unlocked version like they did with S7 and S7 Edge.
