Dear great kernel modders,
For some reasons, Samsung does not allow stereo earphone (no mic) to hear phone calls (including normal call, video call, Tango).
Would it be possible to have a mod to enable a normal earphone to hear calls? In this way, I don't have to remove my earphone when a call comes in!
What I really want to do is to let earphone to listen call and have phone's mic for speaking.
(Yes, I know there are earphone with mic. But I cannot find a good quality and compatible with Galaxy S in my place. Bluetooth is not an option for its sound quality...)
Thanks guys!
Its not posible as far as its concerned (I think its a hardware design), What you CAN do is get hands on a Iphone > Nokia adaptor on ebay or whatever and use that and buy yourself some decent iphone headphones.
I'm looking forward to this feature as well. (This is the one thing I really miss from my Nexus One) I believe SuperCurio is working on it but it's pretty low priority. Drop him a line

Hello,
well, since yesterday I've switched to Samsung Galaxy Note II from Samsung Galaxy SIII and what is strange is that the audio output through the 3.5 mm audio jack on the Note is very silent compared to the one on SIII, I mean the SIII is like 3 times louder than Note on this one? Though the phone speaker output is probably louder on the Note II. So any ideas on this? Is it particularly my Note II or is it the usual scenario for all Notes?
Can there something be done about it? I mean even if download a volume booster, it will probably boost both: the audio jack and the phone speaker output, which could lead to damaging my phone speaker eventually?
Any solutions to this problem? I
What file are you listening to? Is it a MP3, FLAC or a movie?
Obvious, but did you make sure to turn the volume up on note2? Samsung has a habit of making its phones and tablets default to half volume when you plug something in.

All of them
External Speaker output through audio jack very low
I got that problem too on my Note II, So is there any solution for that to increase the Volume when we connect to the output speaker through the 3.5mm jack (Aux)
On my old phone, Galaxy S5, there was a small mod that enable dual speakers and it totally made the experience better. So, can somebody figure out how to enable dual speakers on the LG G4? I know it has to be in mixer_paths.xml, but I don't know what lines to edit

Dual speakers? Like the ear piece speaker?

Just out of curiosity what do you need it for? Audio play back or phone call? Seems like an interesting request as the ear piece probably cannot put off good loud sound without peaking.
Doing this mod is very dumb in my opinion. The earpiece speaker on the phones is put at certain cut of sound frequencies in order to focus in the voices and not so much background noises. So in order to having it be a speaker will not sound so good at all plus also the risk of blowing it will be much greater for it isnt meant for audio other than for phonecalls for it also is much smaller than the dedicated speaker for music.

I don't listen to very high volume on the G4 speaker at all, and I also use speaker optimization in V4A. I really like the the stereo effect this would probably give if the ear piece got enabled. I loved this very much on my Galaxy S5 and I can respect your opinion.

Audio playback is the main reason. This mod was very good on the Galaxy S5, you can find the mod in the threads on that device somewhere.
your gonna blow up your speakers OP

On the Galaxy S5 this wasn't an issue and I can tweak the speaker settings in V4A, but I can respect your opinion.
Here's where the idea originated from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/themes-apps/soundmod-t2902915

I'm right there with you! I had this mod on my G3 as well. Loved the surround effect. If the mixer path is edited properly (balancing the earpiece at a lower level compared to the rear speaker) no damage and great sound effect. Unfortunately as much as I have tried, the G4 mixer path xml is a nightmare to navigate, I've tried countless times to obtain this surround effect using the previous device mod as a guide, but no dice. Best I could do was gaining a respectable volume increase in call and speaker output without getting into distortion territory. Love the G4 but some of the new files are quite the pain!!!

Very true! After seeing the G4's mixer_paths.xml in my file browser, my eyes were twitching! I have no idea where to start editing so I was hoping the fabulous XDA G4 community could help, but at this point all I'm getting is: "your gonna blow out your speakers" or "this is dumb". But at the same time I can see where they're coming from, there's a chance the speaker(s) can blow or this mod may not be worth fighting for.

I had the HTC Boombass as a free promo when I got my HTC One M8. It was set up to provide bass over and above the normal HTC M8 speakers and worked quite well. That kinda falls in line with what you are saying about the earpiece, it could be used to add a little something without trying to equal the loudspeaker in range or volume but could still prove useful to the overall sound.
Had a mod like this on my Nexus 5 as well. Tweaked properly it can sound great.
there is actually a thread where a stereo mod is published, also is installable with(or without) magisk

300+ views and no answers? is it possible to turn earpeace speaker to second speaker ?
Buddy , P2 has only one speaker. The other one you see left bottomside is microphone.
you probably misunderstood me, there is a mod for example s7 edge

This would be great
hi guys I'm pretty much sure my note 10 plus when someone called me sound come out of both speakers but it doesn't on my s20 ultra
Is there a way of enabling it?
Thanks
I'm curious to know this as well. During speaker calls, my S20 5G randomly switches speakers but never outputs from both at the same time.
