Better than a S6? - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

I'm really thinking that the 1+3 it's a better device and want to know your opinions please to help decide. ????

The OP3 is been compared with S7 in almost all foruns, magazines and news. The question is if OP3 is better than S7 or not. I don't think so but for me is the best second phone...

I got the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge but is tired of it. Should I change?

Hi
I wonder if I should sell my S7 Edge for this phone? There is much more development going on with faster updates and so on.
Do you think it's a stupid move to sell my S7 Edge and get this phone? Do this phone have any advantages over the S7 edge?
Thanks in advance
no it will be a wise move as well you could save some bucks.
One is awesome but no community for software and modding. The other is cheaper and not as good hardware wise but hey you can flash to your heart's content.

How much would you sell? You can trade with my op3 tho . Mine is considerably mint in condition, no scratch or whatsoever.
Yep, i get rid of my s7, didn't like the small screen and the feel of it, felt like i was holding a dense rock everytime. Also, got hot and there were no roms for it. OP3 is faster too, one downside is the OP3 doesn't have a comparable screen or camera. The screen colors and resolution are a bit better on the samsung. S7 is also waterproof.
Get a OnePlus 3 if you like tinkering with your smartphone: you'll have good times together.
Stay with S7 Edge if you're anal about display and camera.

S7 edge is far too superior in terms of cam and battery life. Also screen is way better. I can recommend Op3 if you are planning to buy new phone. I can't surely recommend as replacement of s7 edge. I own both phones!
Another point to add. If u are flasholic love to root and mess around with the phone then Op3 is the best choice. Lots of custom ROMs, no warranty issues if phone is rooted

NO ! There is a lot of dev but at the same time there are a lot of people who have issues with their phones after using those new releases
They released a Community Build 3.5.2 and told people to upgrade and try it but nobody could downgrade from that to their stock, people got stuck on 3.5.2 which was not working properly so then they had to release another build after few weeks to fix it as you can see from their official log: 'Fixed community build cannot flash back to official build issue' http://downloads.oneplus.net/devices/oneplus-3/

Well S7 edge is not too superior in term of anything, camera can have slight advantage, but everyone is not a pro photographer to differentiate between the two, and it is not the main thing for most to select a phone, battery life of S7 edge is marginally better but dash charge which is 3 times faster than S7 charger, can give you 50% charge is around 15/20 minutes, which is a real edge.
Screen for both are same, one cannot differentiate which is which, if they dont tell you one is 2k and one is 1080p, its just spec.
OP3 is better looking, no screen accidental touches, no edge real estate loss, no image bending waste, 5 times smoother UI, touchwiz lag avoidance, easy to root and flash and come back to stock, CM 14 and other roms and so on.

Yes, it should mean "very picky" in a funny and informal conversation.
No offence intended, I'm read that expression a few times and thought it was widely known.

Not sure why this is on the 10 forums. You're not even asking if there are features of the 10 which you like and that are translated to another phone.
maybe this could help..

I just sold an S8 and picked up a 10 and also love it for the size. If your wanting bigger I'd go with the 5T or possible the V30+ as is has a OLED display vs the P-OLED of the standard V30 and the Pixel XL. LG hasn't put it on their bootloader unlock list if that's important to you. Really the smart money is the 5T.

Oh wow, you're right about the LG V30! I thought they did but I guess not wow ..... and I was really thinking about getting it since it's on sale :'( I was considering the 5T but I noticed the phone was a lot bigger than the v30. hmmmm...
I traded the nexus 6p eventually because the size and saw the v30 was a bit smaller then the 6p. Does the oneplus 5t work with VoLTE and tmobile? anyone else have any suggestions. thanks.

Buying coupe of questions

And is they any problem/defects I should be looking out for when I buy it
Or am I been stupid selling the note 8 in the first place only asking as have a buyer today if not lol
Thanks
Oh ya and does going back to a 1080p display have any difference to most and how's the camera
Sorry for the random questions I'm working at the moment otherwise I'd do a lot of research before
Thanks again

Unlocking bootloader, rooting and installation of custom ROMs is not an issue. Knox is strictly a Samsung thing.
The Display is really good IMO and for most people it's not really noticable that it's 1080p
Camera is not as good as Note8 so if camera is really important then I would stick with the Note.
As for going from Note8 to OP5T a good idea, well that's some soul searching on your part. What's your reasoning for the temptation?
Sent from my ONEPLUS A5010 using Tapatalk
Main reason is for rooting ect I like viper4andriod I mainly use my phone for watching videos and music with the odd photo ect
I find I'm not using 99% of the gimmicks on the note 8 even the spen
It's either the oneplus 5t or the xperia xz premium
1) OnePlus is a great phone for rooting, really easy to get started. (just remember to remove any pins/password/sequences before flashing and you will be always fine)
2) No known problems yet, I had none of these either.
3) I personally prefer the OnePlus 5T because I like the stock ROM a lot more and I love having raw performance rather than useless software, but this is all personal preference.
4) The camera is not superb, but not that bad either, it takes great shots except in low light, but you can manage to get good results with the manual camera.
OP5t is a great phone and if it is customization you are seeking then you will be happy with it. Camera isn't terrible, it just isn't pixel or Samsung.
The phone is fast, fluid and battery is great.

Pixel 3a xl vs S10e? Which one is better if price is same?

Hi, looking to switch up from my iPhone X to an android device been years since I was on android full time. The phone that has really got my attention has been the pixel 3a xl and wanted to ask in the uk an used s10e off eBay is the same price as an pixel 3a xl. Considering both are at the same price which one is better and why?
Thank you

In terms of raw power, S10e. Quality tends to be pretty great with Samsung these days. I, however, highly value a clean Android experience and can't stand ONE UI from Samsung (this is just me though, and I know taste differs, so it's pretty subjective). I do think there's a superior camera experience with the pixel as well, and software support is obviously better with pixel. Longevity can be an issue though, since many pixels have had performance issues over time, so it also depends on how long you're planning on holding onto your phone.
If you want a premium style device, S10e is hard to pass up. If you like the feel of their software, then even better. If you want a more vanilla feel for Android and best camera experience and are ok with the possibility of the phone being a tad slower for the sake of software support, pixel is your go to.

You could install a custom launcher to make it feel more like a pixel, and you can use a few apps and tweaks, but you will still see certain differences in the end, since these mostly apply to your home screen, but not certain UI elements. Samsung does lockdown some of their theming abilities to their own proprietary services. I would recommend finding a demo device or a device from someone you know the has Android 9 pie on a Samsung device and see how you like ONE UI. Like I said, if you don't mind it, the s10e is a pretty safe choice for you. I know a lot of people describe the pixel as more similar to an iPhone experience, so if that is important to you, the pixel will probably be a safer bet.

Instead of doing this just get the Pixel.
If you wanna make it look and behave like the Pixel, then just get the Pixel. Makes much more sense, right?
I just switched from an XS Max to this Pixel 3a XL and I already enjoy the phone way better than that iPhone. I used an s8 + before and I like Samsung but the updates are slow in comparison and that matters a lot to me.
See what matters to you and get whichever one covers that. The first response to your question is excellent in differentiating the two. Cheers!

I personally agree. I think pixel is the best way to go, and rooting Samsung devices can be a tedious and frustrating process since they have a flash counter
Thanks for all the useful replies by everyone, much appreciated.

A pixel 3a xl is brand new £470 and there are plenty of Samsung s10e going for around £450 on eBay in almost new like condition. Remember reading recently that Samsung phones have the highest depreciation percentage of smartphones so you can pick them up relatively cheap compared to its RRP.

ROMS from the OnePlus 7 Pro to the 7T

Looking at the 855+ it looks like it's just an OC'd version of the same processor.
Would u right to assume it's going to be able to accommodate the OnePlus 7 pro ROM's?
Perhaps the cameras may differ, if read that the rear are identical, not sure on the front. The mechanism is certainly missing.
Shouldn't affect functionality of the ROM though.
Excellent device it would seem, for as device that mimics another which is 100+ more in price and still for sale.
Good times if you're in the market.
I just might invest.
Anyone else ordered it?
After being a Nexus/Pixel loyalist since the Nexus 4, I think it's finally time to switch to OnePlus. Probably going to get the 7T. I'm pretty sure the 7T will get the same treatment as the 7 Pro's ROMs.

I miss my OnePlus. I think there will be sold kind of unified development hopefully.
It is a beast of a device and the price is right too

Absolutely will miss it. Everything else sounds better than the new Pixel. To me UFS 3.0 is more important than a camera. Pixel is rumored to still have 2.1. :/
