Hello everyone. Just got my OP3 today and updated and all that. But when I try to change the home screen grid size to have more apps ,it doesn't change anything. Anyone else having this problem?
It's not a problem you just can't do it on the home screen those bigger grids are for the app draw but I've sent in an email asking them to make it available for the home screen as well, you should ask them send an email to the carlpie address on that card in the box

The defy has 6. And a home page. Im not using two of them how do i remove them? Tmobile was no help. 2nd question is there something that can rotate my screen upside down. ? Thanks for reading
I'm not sure whether you can do it with the stock launcher (though you should be able to) but I know with LauncherPro you can choose the number of homescreens by pressing Menu, then Preferences > Homescreen Settings.
thanks
I gave it a shot it works well. However i just don't like the home icons. I like the ones that came with it. (3) call. The circle thing and contacts is there any way to get them with launcher pro?
Well, you can change the default icons long-pressing on them. Choose the default ones or find some nice icon online and change it
Thanks

Hi, I am using 2.2 and sometimes my device hangs and reboots itself. When i was in landscape befor then the homescreen is in landscape after auto- reboot. So technically landscape is possible, but how to switch its orientation by yourself is a other question.
Greetings
To make it go to landscape once ur in launcherpro hit the 4 square button then behavior then check auto rotate. U should b good.

When I set my wallpaper and go back to the home screen, the wallpaper appears to be zoomed in and only shows the center portion very big. Lock screen is proper size, sometimes.
SOLUTION: For those of you having this problem, I found the workaround for it. Use Home Switcher and switch to Touchwiz, go to home screen and set wallpaper, it should appear the proper size now, go back to Home Switcher and switch to whatever launcher you choose and the wallpaper should stick.
OP edited with workaround
Wallpaper wizardrii app can also help, fits any wallpaper size to your home screen.

Using the workaround that I posted in the first post solved the issue for me without the need of any external apps.

I uninstalled the home switcher and most of the other stock apps and replaced them with the ones I use so that app is great for me and those like me.

This problem will show up again later. Is there a way to permanently fix it?
Use quick pic to set the wallpaper.

SNIPER is right QUickPic worked for me
Still, it is silly how they designed the home screen wallpaper settings. There is no reason why we can not set a picture to fit the screen by default stock out of the box. It is amazing how something so simple can be such a pain.
This is my biggest gripe about an android.

I updated my Galaxy Nexus to 4.2 using e587de13bf8a.signed-takju-JOP40C-from-JZO54K.e587de13.zip file.
The update seemed to happen fine, and I can access all new 4.2 features, except the Lockscreen widget.
My lockscreen doesnt seem to go right or left. The Google Now bootom-up swipe asks me to enter PIN, unlocks the phone and takes me to thr Google Now window. A back button there takes me to my Homescreen.
Can anyone tell me if I am missing something here?
Thanks,
It's working fine here
Sliding right takes me to the Camera and sliding to the left takes me to other widgets like messaging gmail etc.
Try flashing again. It might help you

When you turn the screen on, you should see two rectangles on the right and left borders of the screen.
Swipe from the clock down to lower your security. Then swipe left or right to access the camera and widgets. To bring your security back up grab the lock at the bottom of the screen and pull it up.

Tried all those and much more, but its still the same.
Other than this, all other 4.2 features work fine.
Same is happening to me and one of my friends (both on takju).
I could swipe from left to right imminently after the update, but after some time i couldnt anymore. Only the clock widget is present.
Can it be because we have corporate email accounts on the phones and it forces the lockscreen to be PIN?
thanks

That might explain it. Even I have my corporate account configured on the phone.
Any way to workaround this?
When using the built uin email app, and I create a new mail message, the font size defaults to 9px. My recipients are complaining that the messages are to small to read easily. I know I can change the font size when im editing the message, but does anyine know a way to change the default of 9px when composung a new mail? I look through every menu I could find, but didnt see any optuons for that.
Thanks!

This is the setting that I'm referring to. I would like to change the default to 12 or 16 px
Sent from my GT-N5110 using Tapatalk 4
if yuu touch on the 9px you should get a drop down menu where you can choose the font size, at least i can on mine
Correct, but I was hoping not to have to do that everytime I create a message. I was looking to change the default.

yes i see what you mean, the only way i can see is to increase the system font in display settings but that makes all fonts too big for me. sorry i cannot be of more help.

bit strange - on mine MF2, stock DPI and system font size set to normal, the default font in mail is 12.

seems I've misquoted again, not good, not good at all...
It's kind of worthless since it will ONLY use the Google Calendar, and I use another app for calendar displays.
It takes up real estate.
But you can't turn it off? Is that really correct?
If you're using the stock launcher then no, not that I've found. You could always try using a different launcher, I'd recommend Nova.
Yeah, I was trying to give google's a fair chance, but getting irritated with the large gaps between icons as well. Thanks.
Nope, you can't turn it off or remove it but you can turn off the 2 functions is has - Calendar events and Traffic information. Just long press on it and a little pop-up comes up labeled Preferences. Tap that.
This should solve your issues. Install it on top of your stock Pixel Launcher. https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-rootless-pixel-2-launcher-google-t3688393

I use the google calendar and still get no notifications or events on the screen. I thought I'd give pixel launcher a chance but i'm going back to nova. all the gaps are annoying me.

It only shows them close to the event time. I'm not sure if it honors the notification period on the event (which I think is like 10 minutes?) or if it has a hard coded value, I just moved the appointment right up close, in a bit later it appeared. Completely anti-climatic, I much prefer seeing what's queued up, e.g. Smooth Calendar widget is one I've been using for ages, nothing special but at least it makes sense.
mine still doesn't show events happening in the next 2 min. I think I'm going back to nova launcher. btw I use Event Flow Widget. It's hands down my favorite and having that on my homescreen is the #1 reason I couldn't get an iphone. i have to have that widget on the homescreen.

I know this is old but I found it looking for the same thing. Open it up and click on the settings gear icon. Toggle everything to off and it disappears
