Using Titanium Backup Pro- to backup Torque Pro - MTCB Android Head Units Q&A

When I use Titanium Backup to backup Torque and then make changes to Torque as
in changing one of the PID screens. Then I use Titanium Restore without doing another Backup, Titanium restores back to the changes that I made and not to the original backup that I did before the changes. What am I doing wrong or missing in the settings??? I have no automatic backups set and all of the above is done within just 1-2 minutes of the backup!.............Help
Also, can someone tell me exactly where the 'user data', PID screens, are stored? I have my backups going to the external SD card....GPS card.
I did another backup using CoPilot after adding an address into Favorites. Then I erase that address and did another RESTORE without doing another backup and the new address is not there!
This would indicate that Titanium Backup is not using the 1(one) backup that I have on the SD card; otherwise the added address should have been in the backup..........any help appreciated!

SPB & Sprite backup - help please!

I recently used SPB to do a "full backup" but it only took 5minutes and the resulting backup file was only 41.7MB...my internal memory has 160MB in use so was this a complete backup and does it usually be this quick? The compression level is set to normal.
I previously used Sprite backup but when I recently wanted to restore it and clicked on the self-restoring file it said "The file cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file"...?
I even tried opening it and my previous 2 backups via opening up sprite -> restore, however it did not find the backup files? Anyone else had this problem.
Lastly, is it best to backup my storage card at the time of the backup? Just that if I ever need to do a hard reset and then restore, won't my system need the files on my storage card to be as they were at the time of my backup? (I have many programs installed on there)
Thanks for your thoughts
Make sure in settings you have the backup choosing the correct files.
I don't backup my storage card simply because it'll save it back on the card.
I can't speak about Spb on the HD but I had problems with it on my Diamond so I switched to Sprite and have no issues.

Question about Titanium Backup

Hi,
I was curious, when you install a rom & do a Titanium Backup restore of your data, are you possibly overwriting any system data?
Is it safe to use Titanium Backup to backup your apps, switch roms, restore, etc? Will that cause some sort of problem when trying roms?
Thanks,
Rich
I have limited knowledge about this, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt.
in my experience, doing a FULL back up and FULL restore resulted in errors. in my experiments with roms, i would back up only user apps with titanium then use an app for call log backups and another app for sms backups.
i really wish there was a way to backup everything BUT system data, that way when i relead a rom, all my icons will come back in the same order, my bookmarks will be intact and my settings would be the same. i'm not sure how to do that yet though.
I backup all user apps and then select the system data I want (desktop/messages/dictionary/boomarks). I too ran into errors if I backed up/restored everything.
Once I make the backups though I order the list by date backed up so all the stuff I skipped is at the bottom of the list; makes it somewhat easier to restore.

Titanium Backup fails to restore some apps

Hi, I never had this issue before, I did apps backup with Titanium Backup. After restoring to another device (same model, replacement unit), 30 out of 90 said were failed to restore. Is there still a way to restore them?
Thanks
I have found you can mostly avoid this problem by selecting "restore to original location" in settings.

[Q] Recover overwritten Titanium Back up files

While taking back up of my whatsapp using Titanium Backup, I have accidentally overwritten my old whatsapp backup file.
Is there anyway to recover the old Titanium back up file?
If you have set backup history to be more than 1, then yes, you will see the option if you select Whatsapp from the backup list. If you haven't, then I'm afraid it's not possible, unless you happen to have a cloud sync or something that wasn't updated after your latest backup.

Does any one know how to manually restore after doing this?
I accidentally replaced/overwrite an old backup (I have a copy of this still though, luckily), however in Titanium Backup, only the recent one is showing up, even after I copied the old one back into the TitaniumBackup folder. I believe TitaniumBackup archives their backup in their own way and hence this doesn't work. I have also now changed the Maximum backups to 2, to prevent this from happening in the future (lol). I was in a rush and wasn't careful, however luckily I still have a backup of the old backup that was overwritten.
What to do now?

Titanium backup reporting insufficient space

Hi, I've just flashed LOS 17.1 to my Swift, switch from LOS 16. All's well apart from Titanium. Wishing to start with a clean slate I backed up the TBs backups by copying them to my PC. I deleted the TB backup files on the phone and then reinstalled TB (only way I could find to set the backup list to zero).
I'm using Magisk for SU state. Can anyone please advise of a fix for this?
Found a solution, I deleted the titanium folders in the phone and SD memory spaces, erased the date from the Titanium backup App. All is now working.
