We are launching brand spanking fresh. All new features. New team members. New everything and we have made sure that everything that we are releasing has been polished to our best.
A lot went into this version of Paranoid Android, specially on the CAF side (OnePlus / Non-nexus devices). We ship with custom in-house kernels tweaked to provide the best power-battery combo, new functionalities and designs for hardware-specific options like the alert slider and advanced controls just for OnePlus devices - so feel pretty.
The main features and enhancements that you will probably end up noticing are our custom Quick Settings tile reordering functionality, floating window support, immersive mode, the new on-the-spot interface and CM Theme Engine. There's much more to come, so sit tight!

Changelogs
As we're getting back into the thread game, keeping up with threads and updating them as per changelogs can be too hectic given our schedule. However, very detailed changelogs always go up on our Google+ page, follow us for constant updates!
Instructions & requirements
We highly recommend you to follow these instructions very carefully. Users usually tend to skip a few steps and eventually fall in trouble. Are you with me? Good. Let's get this train going.
Just a few things to keep in mind first -
If you're coming from another ROM / Stock, your system data (not internal storage) will have to be wiped. This includes apps, accounts, messages, call logs etc.
There's been some users complaining about different GAPPS variants messing up installs and causing a ton of issues. Upon investigating it seems OpenGapps Mini/Nano and Banks GAPPS work best.
Understand that Paranoid Android is a custom ROM and it might lead to addiction as it's relatively good. We shouldn't be accused of anything just incase your cat starts drinking wine. Things get a little woozy in the Paranoid World.
Some brain might be involved if things go wrong. Not a lot though, as much to solve what's 1+1.
Okay let's get to the main bit -
Once you have all the required files - boot into recovery and wipe the bananas out of your device. Get into the wipe menu and wipe data, system, cache and dalvik cache (basically everything except Internal Storage).
Once wiped, get into the "Install from zip" menu and select the ROM zip. (pa_bacon_6.x...). Once added to the install queue, TWRP will ask you if you want to add more zips into the queue - Click on "add more zips" and select the GAPPS package.
Swipe the bar on the bottom to flash/install zips. Once both zips are done installing - Reboot into system and set-up your device, do not do anything else.
Once you're done setting up your device - well that's when you're done. One thing though - Make sure you DO NOT INSTALL any other zip in the same queue as the ROM & GAPPS. Meaning, do not flash anything like a kernel or a root package while installing the ROM. We recommend you do that AFTER you're done setting up your device.

@TheCrazyLex At the moment on the Oneplus 2 when you switch profiles, with the alert slider. It's difficult to see on which profile you are. Will there be a fix for this?

Thank you for your amazing work! ROM is pretty stable and battery life is very good. Just a question : will you include the june security patch soon?

Having trouble with app store, forcing my phone to reboot or giving me error 404

We're working on it. The way Oxygen does it (pop up covering half of the screen) seems a bit intrusive, so we're going to show the area of the volume slider that indicates the state.
For now, press the volume button before changing modes if you would like a better visual indication.

Missed the PA Roms back in the old days with my Nexus 4, looking forward to the development of this rom on the OP2!!!

Alert slider seems to have a bug. When I set it to the middle position, it display the "alarm only" mode in the status bar. @TheCrazyLex @xboxfanj

Well I guess TWRP would back my system up if my SD card wasn't in NTFS..noob..after I format it back to fa32 and put everything back on it I'll flash this rom and try it out. Thanks guys!
Hard to believe the initial post of no known issues with the first build but if it's true then that's gorgeous.
Well it's gorgeous either way.
Will give this and omni a test run later today.
Can't wait actually... Given the mediocre setup we have been presented with coloros.
Gesendet von meinem One mit Tapatalk
It works pretty well so far! Just played around with it for half an hour.
Two things I noticed: The camera does not go into landscape mode. And the Storage is still divided into two partitions (like ColorOS) Is it possible to unite them into one?
Awesome work so far!
The only issue i noticed in short test time, double tap to wake doenst work as wrote here before, double tap to sleep work
And one important question for me: Does the modem use Band 20 for LTE? I cant test it at that moment.
And it seems to be that fast charging works too. But iam not sure, because i charge at 36%, after 20 min. it was at 42% and 30 min later it was at 96%. There was a big jump in charging in 30 min.

will reply to this how I did over at oppo forums..
This is the way it is in colorOS as well I believe. We could have asked everyone to re-partition their internal sdcard but that's retarded. for one.. you would lose your pictures etc etc that you have taken using COS..

You have been on ColorOS haven't you...?
Then you probably know the issues it has...
And now we got source-baked roms...
FOR CHRISTS SAKE DO YOU REALLY THINK ANYONES GOING BACK TO THAT HELLHOLE?! :silly:
But no, seriously. ColorOS is in the past for me one way or another, I gave it a chance, it failed. Hell even the CM11s port does a way better job at handling this device than ColorOS does.
So if I leave the old system behind, why not get the most of the "new" system anyway?
Part of that would be unified partition layout if you ask me.

This is the way it is and will be for compatibility... I guarantee that all respectable AOSP ROM's will do the same.. In the meantime I am sure someone will release an aftermarket hack for people who want this..

I see no reason why it can't be done as a optional x-plattform feature.
LVM2 works via loopfiles just as much as it does via physical devices, make your script format /data and /internal_sd if you want and place 2 LVM loopfiles into both folders, taking up the device space there.
Then on bootup simply check whether the loopfiles exist or not, if they do bring up the volumegroup and mount the unified storage, if not go with the convential setup.

Welcome to EOS! The EOS project originated with the AOSP release of ICS, and was originally founded by Solarnz and co founded by Bigrushdog. Since then, EOS has evolved into a multinational collaborative effort backed by top Android developers. Our objective is to provide a world class AOSP build with unique features and enhancements. EOS is an ongoing development project in which builds are released on a regular basis. Feature request are not guaranteed, but always welcome. Every release should be considered stable and highly functional.

(Builds are not generated if there are no changes to source, saving you from useless updates)
Because this is an AOSP based ROM, Google Apps are not included. Flash the gapps of your choosing after you flash the ROM. If you need help finding a gapps package, ask any of us and we'll be happy to help
These builds are designed to be installed from your favorite recovery. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST 5.1.X COMPATIBLE RECOVERY.
Detailed instructions:
Going to EOS 5.1.X from another ROM:
Boot to recovery
BACKUP YOUR CURRENT SETUP!!!
Make a full wipe (Dalvik, Dalvik Cache, System, Data)
Flash the ROM
Flash optional kernel if you choose to not use provided kernel **We DO NOT support outside kernels**
Flash gapps
Reboot
Updating from an older EOS build to new EOS build:
You can usually skip the full wipe step and just wipe both caches. If ever you encounter an issue make sure you make a full wipe first before reporting it. This is what most call "Dirty Flashing". Normally this doesn't cause problems, but keep in mind a clean flash is always the best way to go.

If you guys want anything let me know. Manta has the noble assignment of being my Netflix / pRoNz device so if you guys want anything let me know. As long as Netflix and MX Player Pro still work I'm game. This device is a bit dated so don't expect any miracles. Seems the Manta boards are a bit dead so we'll try to liven things up a bit. For the most part, this build is your guys' build. I'm usually busy running the Eos project so I'm mostly focused on the platform as a whole. But if I you guys want another kernel or something I'm game. Cheers!

My xoom literally broke 2 weeks ago and I just got a nexus 10. Awesome to see this!!
Running great here! Just one bug I found: when you set the back key to hold to kill the current app (and possibly if you set the back key to hold to anything), pressing the back key normally becomes very intermittent and unreliable meaning pressing it does nothing most of the time. Restoring back to hold to nothing again fixes it.
Also, at your first opportunity, could we get a new build with the stagefright fixes and other commits from 5.1.1r9 (or is that already in)?
Much thanks!!!

Best ROM I've used in a while, its fast, smooth, has a low impact on RAM as apps tend to remain much longer and in a bigger quantity in memory than other ROMs
My device has been turning off during sleep but I believe that to be kernel related
Does this have OTA updates? The logo reminds me of the Team Exodus ROM I use on my OnePlus One. Is it similar in features?

Search works fine. Screen off gestures work fine (are you crying about an icon? Create a shortcut). Charging sound doesn't work, but really? Not a big issue is it considering a blinding LED let's you know it's charging!

Ha, I used to use Validus on another device, it's nice to come across it again. Great stuff! Snappy and it seems to not heat up as much as some of the other Lux ROMs I've used
Maybe it's just me but none of the Android/Google SMS apps seem to work, and I couldn't restore my SMS log. But 3rd party SMS apps seem to work fine.
Also the Themes chooser in the Settings doesn't seem to work, but I'm guessing it'll be fixed in due course. And I'm happy there's a built-in dark theme. Again, really good stuff for an "alpha" build

I am fully aware that developers like you are sparing your valuable private time and effort in bringing out these ROMs for users like me. Thanks once again and keep the good work going!
Update: After clearing the data of "settings", search is now working.
@flashallthetime: Please allow the developer to mind or never mind.
@moozer: How did you find me crying? If reporting what is found is prohibited in this forum, so be it. You keep smiling!
Note: I am not intending to take this any further and I am done!!

@GtrCraft First of all, thank you so much for this ROM, I've only installed for a short amount of time, but it was really good, and I understand the time and effort you put on this. But you don't need to be so rude, @kvskmcafee was very polite, he thanked you for the ROM and provided you only feedback of it. Anyway, thank you so much! I hope this ROM lasts a long time!

Thank you, already installing...
this may sound stupid because the rom is still in alpha state, but is it already good for everyday use? thanks!
Sent from my XT1575 using XDA-Developers mobile app
You may experience some issues, but it's definetly a daily driver. I would call it beta
I would not give it Daily Driver status... it has potential but not there yet.

It's really really stable actually, @thompatry did weeks worth of testing before releasing. The only bug that has been noticed is the bug where mic is quiet with speakerphone
Awesome!!
nice, long time since i have seen a new rom

+1 I'm actually surprised how well its running.

There are a lot of changes incoming. (for the most part they are related to the kernel) The force reboot issue, which could happen is already fixed and only have to be merged. I'm really happy that we have devs like them :highfive:

The changes are just updating the kernel to what CM has and they're from motorola.
Also, @thompatry and I are cracking away at the speakerphone bug. We've accomplished breaking the mic, or fixing the volume but adding some extreme feedback, or causing the device to not boot at all
So, progress
We'll try to keep you guys updated on that
If any of you have ideas to throw at us to fix it (please think through them and test if you can) please do
Would it help, if I make a adb logcat during a call?
Edit: The extreme feedback also exists on CM if you call through both speakers instead oft just the top one. If I remember correctly our MXP has 3 mics, 2 for noice cancelling. Maybe disabling one or two would help
Am I missing it or is there no customization of the Power Menu?
Plus boot up and reboot times seem very long compared to other roms for this phone
Has anyone figure how to stop the notification light from flashing while on the charger but still be set up to receive notifications without turning off the notification light?
Ah the little things do make such a difference.

That bug has been common in CM roms for a while, have not really sen that bug too much in AOSP roms.

You'd have to dig around, I don't think so but I'm not sure
Pretty sure there isn't extreme feedback on Slim, or so I was told by @thompatry, I don't own a clark myself.
Dunno about reboot times tho
And yeah, we're aware its a common bug on a lot of roms, but we're not letting that stop us
We'll get there eventually
I had one reboot during a call and few ui freezes.... Btw the rom is awsome and it sleeps like a baby. Thanks! Waiting for the next =]
very stable rom fast and smooth and light no bloatware at all, is there anyway to add the color calibration from stock versions i just like the saturated colors hehe
This rom is amazing. Its is one the fastest I have seen on the X Pure. Thanks a lot
Can you please add clear all option in the recents panel and advanced reboot option?
I'm facing a bug: Whenever someone calls me I'm unable to hear their voice but they can hear me, but when I call them both of us are able to hear each other and there are no problems.

Glad to hear the ROM is good, but we didn't tweak color calibration from cm's kernel, and unless it's handled in-kernel, there's no way for us to add it, and I'm almost 100% positive that we're using a motorola based kernel.

Totally bonkers but I got it working. Hidden menu over phone (*#*#3646#*#* for those using search before posting for hours like me lol), set to default at LTE/CDMA and power cycled a few times. Making sure to keep persevering and changing it because it likes to default on LTE/GSM/CDMA/WCDMA and that's just not working. I also changed radio band to United States but I don't know if that was all that necessary, but its worth noting. Now its working and I even got VoLTE/AdvCall, the works.
Time to rock me some serious Hello Kitty Adventure Island time.

Oh, update on this. Setting it to United States at least for me is mandatory. If the radio band is on Automatic it will not work no matter which setting its on. The default of LTE/CDMA/UMTS (prl) does not work under any band. LTE/CDMA and Global do however.

All Feedback Welcomed................
Yo progress
Awesome!!
Great will download and flash ASAP
Gesendet von meinem HTC 10 mit Tapatalk
looking forward to some awesome features
New ROM is coming along nicely. Please refer to the plethora of screen shots
Awesome work. Looks like an equivalent and real alternative to Sense-based ROMs like LeeDrOiD and Viper10, only on AOSP. Meant as a large compliment by a fan of ROMs with a lot of optional customizations to be set by the users.
Really eager to try it out. Keep up this amazing work!
Now running this I'd only need some PlayStore App to customize my EQS tiles it seems that's it - or is this what Quick Settings in Nebula settings is for?
