Hi, appreciate some comments on whether the dual SIMs support LTE+LTE or is it LTE+3G or worst LTE+2G if use concurrently?
Let's say I have SIM 1 that I'm gonna use for 4G data only (all internet connections) while SIM 2 just for voice calls, is this possible? I meant using both concurrently rather than switching one at a time.
Many thanks.

It does support 4G+4G, but I've noticed that 4G is connected only on one sim, which you set as your main data sim, while the other depends on a lower network.

Hello, Wanted to know if OP3 support "VOLTE" ?
Any inputs would be appreciated.

From what I have read online yes it does but double check to make sure.

These are the speeds I am getting over lte in india. Service provider is airtel and the region is gurgaon. I am running stock oxygen os 3.1.2 rooted and with the build.prop fix.

Stock 3.1.2 AT&T

Yes it does if you have it enabled and your sim/carrier support it.

Hi Just call One Plus Support (India).. They mentioned that their hardware is compatible but then there is an OS upgrade which would be needed to use VoLTE directly instead of an application interface. I have also send a mail to support for getting a conformation , Would update with the inputs in-turn,

The 4g speeds are half of that on my old nexus 5 with the exact same sim card, sitting in the same place in my house, testing from the same server on speedtest.net

I got this while sat in a park in Taichung, Taiwan. Bought the SIM with credit for ~£12 at Taipei airport on landing. Unlimited data for 10 days. It worked not only on the metro underground in Taipei and on the THSR (bullet train) at 300kph but also in a hotel room that was below ground in Taipei.
I suggest that any throughput issues anyone might have with 1+3 is carrier related

LTE sim card

So my work phone is a full unrestricted plan. Yes I know att doesn't theoretically have unlimited data. But my question is would that sim give me LTE connectivity in my tablet. Or is there a special tablet package that needs to be enabled on the sim that costs more?
TLDR; Can i use my att LTE sim that i use for my cell phone in my Nexus 7 tablet?

Here is how it works in Germany (and I assume that is how it works everywhere).
You have a SIM Card which is on a GPRS Plan (normal data connection) and if you buy a special option for LTE you account will be upgraded and the SIM-Card which was running on GPRS is now able to connect to an LTE Network.
So in essence, you need an special LTE Plan, which cost more money. AND you need to be in an area where LTE is available, otherwise you pay more but the data speed is as slow as without LTE.
And DO NOT BELIEVE that you are getting 100 or more MBit/s, that is the maximum speed for that LTE Channel in the optimum distance.
If there is another LTE User with you on that channel, the speed drops. Last seen here in Munich at the Octoberfest where 30 or more people tried to connect to one particular LTE Access-Point and the system slowed down to a crawl.
On the other hand, if you have an LTE enabled phone/pad, you are getting normally a better speed performance out of an GPRS connection.
And yes I can be wrong because I am human, laugh. But based on my experience I am not.

Cellular strength and throughput

We know how much you like to stream, ahem, "videos", and so cellular data is mega-important. Rate this thread to express how you think the Samsung Galaxy S8+'s LTE performs. A higher rating indicates that it's fantastic: throughput is excellent and signal strength is top-notch.

I get a low 4g signal at work whereas on my s7 edge I didn't get anything
Mine is a lot better than any phone I've had before. Usually at home on all my other phones I have 1-2 bars and on the S8+ I have at least 4 bars.
Bars are no indication of true signal strength. My S8+ doesn't get nearly as strong of a signal as my Pixel XL. I drop signal a lot more often now. I was rather disappointed with the performance of the cell radio actually.
For me, the signal is about the same at home. But at work, the S8+ performs much better than the Note5 that I had... Must be an extra band or something. The Note5 would hang on to an unusable LTE signal or drop to 3G/1x inside my job. The S8+ stays on on LTE with a usable signal.
Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
It's worst Then S8 as I used that before shifting to S8 plus. But download speed is great.
My S7 was better. The S7 ised a new duel antenna tech, I am not sure the S8 used it or not.
My AT&T Note 4 and my new S8+ get about the same signal, which is really disappointing
I generally see around 5-8dbm better then I did with my pixel xl at home..notice the s8+ does drop signal little easier tho then my pixel in fringe areas
Tested right outside my house. Never had these speeds on my Note 5.
Comming from a S6, the signals and speeds are far better, also my s6 was missing a few bands so never ever got speeds like this on my Jio 4G Network in India
At work on LTE Im getting 31 Mbps down and 6 Mbps up. Not bad! Faster than our company wifi!

Poor Reception in Canada on Bell Mobility
I just got an unlocked S8+ that was apparently originally from Sprint (because that is where the home page goes in Samsung Internet).
I do not get very good reception on it – even in urban/suburban areas. Sometimes, when I am inside a building, it disappears altogether. I often get 1 or 2 bars on the reception indicator. If I check the “Sim Card Status” screen under settings I get -105 dBm 3 asu. I don’t really know what those numbers mean.
Is there anything I can do to improve reception? Should I be calling Bell and maybe they need to know what kind of phone I have? Should I expect an S8+ purchased directly from Bell (they also carry this phone) to have better reception? Or is the reception of “105 dBm 3 asu” fine and it’s just the indicator showing low levels?
As much as I like this phone I cannot be missing calls randomly. I have a business to run.
Thanks.

Hey fish you want it down, the dBm i mean. Here's a quote "-50 dBm is great signal or full bars. -120 dBm is very poor signal or a dead zone." you at 105 dBm is garbage, no wonder your missing calls.. Since you are experiencing network issues, you could get a replacement, but i don’t think it will make much difference. as it's all same hardware. Why not get a Google Pixel XL i heard they got awesome reception! Or if you’re at home a lot, purchase an lte repeater booster ? Problem Solved!
Drop in signal & Block sign
Im living in UAE - and my service provider is etisalat, and my 4G signal is dropping and sometimes i get block sign, i tried my sim in different device it working.
i have started a thread on the subject if anyone could help me please.

I went through a whole “carrier switching” routine (details found somewhere on these forums) and after changing the CSC to Canadian I flashed Bell Mobility's firmware. The phone now shows that it’s an SM-G955W which is the Canadian model. And apparently now supports additional LTE bands 29(700) and 30(2300) which were missing from the SM-G955U (I determined this by dialing *#2263#).
I have no idea if it *really* supports these bands or just *says* that it does but my gut tells me that it really does support them. I suspect that the hardware for the SM-G955U and SM-G955W is 100% identical and any differences are controlled through software only.
And I seem to have better reception now. I am getting 4 to 5 bars in most places and under -100 dBm in most places. Plus Wi-Fi calling works now so I have reception in my basement at my house.
The true test will be when we go camping next summer.

Android P abysmal Data Connectivity

Hi,
Does anyone else noticed how bad the data connection is on Andoid P? By bad I mean throughput. It struggles to get over 10Mbps in areas with perfect reception(I have an unlimited data plan EE UK) and Carrier Aggregation does not work at all. I'm aware is beta software but this is very poor performance compared to Oreo 8.1. Or is it just my unit? Any feedback would be appreciated.
I'm hitting 50Mbps; no issues!

I'm on EE UK and have experienced the same slow speeds. Not sure if the Oreo and P have the same baseband versions.
Yes, I'm referring to LTE, WiFi seems okay. Installed few cellular network tools, signal strength is similar to Oreo but definitely no Carrier Aggregation on Android P(modem limitation maybe?). That's a shame as data download speed will take a massive hit. Can anyone confirm if Carrier Aggregation works on their phone?
I have the same issue here in India as well, I'm on Airtel. The data speeds have been very inconsistent and poor on LTE and 3G.
It seems to be good here (Ontario, Canada).
Just tried on my phone with full signal, got 68Mbps
I'll try to do a factory reset and retry. A colleague at work has the same issue, full signal, Vodafone UK, LTE max speed 9Mbps, no carrier aggregation.
If I swap to my HTC U11 same network, same place, I get 65-85Mbps download and Net Monitor shows LTE_CA enabled.

Also on EE and Android P DP2. I've not noticed any issues as of yet. Just did a couple of speed tests one at full reception and one just under full, both seemed ok. I have noticed I get less speeds with EE in certain areas compared to others, but never struggled to get past 10Mbps.
Have you checked if the problems persist on another device in your same area?
I'm on Verizon USA and have noticed data speeds have been terrible, as well as getting a lot more dropped calls and it doesn't seem to maintain data connection as well as it did on Oreo.
Definitely the modem doesn't support Carrier Aggregation. I've tried same place different phones, same sim and Pixel with Android P is more than half slower than other phones, iPhone 8Plus and Galaxy S9+. Shame, hopefully this will be fixed in the next release.

Cellular strength and throughput

We know how much you like to stream, ahem, "videos", and so cellular data is mega-important. Rate this thread to express how you think the Samsung Galaxy S10+'s LTE performs. A higher rating indicates that it's fantastic: throughput is excellent and signal strength is top-notch.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add.
I just got the phone today and compared to the Pixel 3xl or Red Magic Mars the signal strength on Mint Mobile using T-mobile network is pretty bad.
Maybe it is because I am at home and wifi calling is on. We will see real world results but so far not good.
I pulled 100Mbps downstream on Freedom mobile earlier today. Hell of a lot faster than my older notes could ever achieve, that is for sure.
It's no 5g though.
I get barely 5Mbps on Sprint
0.12 Mbps on Sprint

I've got Sprint and I have trouble all the time. I've had problems connecting to the internet when I'm showing 4 bars LTE.
You would think after more than a year Samsung would have fixed their networking coding.... Nope....
Signal strength is abysmal on this device and I can't believe they have the nerve to ask for more money for the S20 when they refuse to fix this model. I also see it hasn't gotten better even with the midrange mode of the A71, poor connectivity.
What good is a device that can't get a signal? It's not any good at all, you've overpaid for a small glorified tablet. It's clear Samsung can not get its act together, maybe they should spend less time coding on goofy apps nobody wants to keep people in their ridiculous ecosystem and more time on actually getting their devices to work properly.

you're lucky!!
most networks are putting out 5-12mbps & can be much slower.
Weak signal ls a common problem with the s10 plus. Hell tmobile doesn't even sell it anymore.
My s10 is lucky get 25 mb on my wifi that puts out over 110 mb download speed . My laptop, wife's phone and this crappy, 150 dollar Motorola I have all hit over 100 mb on tests. This is is the last samsung I'll ever own. It's the same with network signal.

Yeah I've tried. What it does on any wifi is bounce. It will shoot up to 25mb and then dip down to two mb. Im sure that's why I'm always dropping videos. There are a few fixes but they never last. It will improve for an hour or so and then go back to being crappy.

poor wi-fi means poor isp. unless you're providing your own modem/router!
would a factory reset help with bad signal strength? my phone has always been terrible even on wifi calling it always drops calls im thinking its the phone itself i like the phone i dont really wana upgrade but if i have to i will or should i get another s10 plus?
a factory reset won't help with wifi calling, that's an internet provider issue, as i mentioned in my previous comment.
if you're in a fringe area for your cell provider, a network reset may help.

I don't think they get it. If your part of town does not get high speed internet than no matter how fast your phone is, it will only be as fast as the actually service is. Case in point. I just moved to another part of town and sign up for high speed internet, supposedly up to 100mb a sec. My son's Playstation showing only 6mb a sec. So I check with a tech for the service I use and he verified what my son's Playstation was showing, 6mb per sec. That it.

Mobile data problem
I am using mobile data all the day , but I face big problem , always data change from 4G+ to 4G then H+ then E.
I face it all the day , is there any problem with my phone and if yes how to solve.
Using an unlocked version in the US, I get worse signal at work than I did with my previous pixel 4 XL and OnePlus 7 pro. Usually I get 1 bar maybe 2, which was same on orbits devices, however on this, I rarely can access the internet and forget even sending a MMS.
My experience is very good with signal strength and throughput. Better than the S10 it replaced.
it's all because of Exynos chip, signal strenght is very bad with exynos.
If i put my sim in Huawei P40 Pro i will get 4 bars, with Exynos only 1 bar.

Hi, you are correct. Yet not exactly. I will have full signal strenght at homeon my mate 20 pro and i could play hours of spotify at work on 4g with no problem at all. The s20 is only 2 bars at home and i cannot even thinking of playing spotify at work plus i use medium power saver all the time. The network optimization is really poor..
At home, using the same sim card for testing,
my old p9 lite has much better cell reception than my s20+ :/
