A Windows 7 computer
Kingo HTC Bootloader unlock
Kingo Android Root
An HTC Android phone
A working brain
Download and install Kingo android root and Kingo HTC Bootloader unlock from Kingoapp's official website. I cannot share the link due to xda limits for junior developers.
Install your device's official drivers from htc's official website.
Rooting Steps
Open Kingo htc bootloader unlock and follow the instructions. REMEMBER DO NOT TOUCH YOUR PHONE TILL THE BOOTLOADER UNLOCK DOES NOT SAY 'FINISH' OR 'SUCCESS'.
Then look at your phone . It will be showing a message that 'do you want to unlock your bootloader' and there will be a disclaimer below it. Below the disclaimer, there will be a 'Yes' and a 'No' button. Use your volume keys to toggle to yes and then press power button to select. It will wipe all your data and apps so make sure that you have backed up everything.
After rebooting, complete the setup and then reboot your Windows 7 computer and your phone.
Then launch Kingo android root
Enable USB Debugging on your device (As you would have done while unlocking your bootloader and Kingo bootloader unlock will also teach you how to enable usb debugging if you press details or help button near its top).
Press 'root my phone' and wait till it roots your phone. REMEMBER NOT TO TOUCH YOUR PHONE WHILE IT IS ROOTING.
After that your phone is rooted. :good: .
Note:- Unlocking bootloader will void your warranty and delete system apps like Htc calculator, Ringtone trimmer, HTC Flashlight, TV Remote, Soundhound, 7Digital , Dropbox , etc so remember to make a backup of those apps also using ES File Explorer or MiXplorer. I didn't do that and I lost all of them.
Press thanks and comment below if it helped and if it didn't work write your problems in the comments.
didn't enable developer options on this phone seeing that I was primarily going to use this phone as my daily driver so I carried on using the phone as is. the next day my phone show me an error, it said "Your device is corrupt. It can't be trusted and may not work properly." (Red) and I proceeded to link it showed me to see what the problem might be.
A few minuets after it showed me that error my phone shut down and couldn't turn on. I tried everything to reboot it but to no success, I was able boot it in fastboot mode and downloaded all the appropriate tools to do a flash install of a factory default image,I got the default operating system that the phone came with, as well as adb-tools required to perform a system wide flash seeing as i didn't have that much data on it.
Once everything was set, I followed the step by step instructions that google provided me on the restore to factory setting pages "https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images". Seeing as I didn't enable developer options when my phone was working, I run into a prerequisite that needed that before I could flash my device.
While running the commands in cmd as an administrator, I run the command -
fastboot flashing unlock command and the console responded with -
FAILED (remote: oem unlock is not allowed)
I went back and reread this step, which was step number 4, It indicated "If necessary, unlock the device's
bootloader by running" the command. so i figured maybe it isn't really necessary, I proceeded to run the flash-all.bat
script, and it FAILED at every step saying -
FAILED (remote: device is locked. Cannot flash) //corresponding .img file//
It failed to flash my nexus 5x at every stage. So I did some research and found out that the problem was
that in the fastboot menu, the Device state was locked in a very assuring green color, and every where I
searched it indicated that this option to unlock the device was in the developer settings in the phones
OS, which is rather odd to put such a feature in the phones OS and fail to include the option in the fastboot menu. I
couldn't find any tool or assistance change the status of the device state to unlocked.
Now my question is, how can I change the device state to unlocked without enabling this options prior in the OS seeing
as i cant do that because my phone isn't coming on at all. any assistance or help would be highly appreciated.
Point of clarification, I have tried everything in accordance to what google nexus support pages have showed
me to the letter.
You can't enable OEM unlock by fastboot/recovery.
But there's another way to rescue your phone.
So
Can you boot into recovery? (Bootloader mode switch to recovery mode using volume keys and press power to choose it)
If it started and you would see an Android with an red triangle press power and hit volume+ to turn on menu. If it works you are safe.
Then download OTA image from Android developers page (OTA, not factory), launch command line (I don't know how it works on Windows, I've never flashed anything on Windows )
And you will need to flash this OTA image by executing adb sideload nameofpackage.zip
Remember to choose adb sideload in recovery first and then executing a command. It should flash and your phone should work.
Good luck!

I cant boot in recovery mode... When I tried to boot in recovery stuck in google logo then power off...
Oh that's not good.
Do you have warranty on your phone?
The last thing I keep in mind is flashing using LG tool, but I might take a look on it because I don't know how to use it.

There where some hidden fastboot commands on XDA. Maybe you can try some of them to see if they can go around this limitation.

I have the same issue mentioned above. Downloaded Nexus Root Toolkit and i have tried unlock through Nexus Root Toolkit. It seems failure. Because, After detecting my device it reboots and my phone reboots and shows the google logo and reboot again and again... My phone will not boot into recovery mode. While we click on it, it shows google logo and reboots again and again... Is there any solution for this?
OMG!!!
I Have the exact same issue with my bq aquaris x5
I really wish someone would find a solution for this
Seems options are very limited now
Having exact same issue with Huawei Y3. After spending the whole day, came to the conclusion that there is now only two options left: a) Replace the motherboard. b) pay £15 at dc unlock website to unlock oem. Not decided which one should i go for..
I got the same issue.
Nexus 5X has no activated "Allow OEM Unlock".
I tried with the Nexus Root Toolkit.
When I try to unlock Bootloader or the option "Fix Bootloop" he wants me to put the phone into Fastboot.
When I put phone into Fastboot he recognizes it and then restarts the phone. From now on nothing more happens, because noe the bootloop is "active" again.
Recovery Mode is not working, too.
Before I can access it, bootloop starts.
Sound as the same issue as @tomsonmathewv has.
Can someone help me?
EDIT:
While I tried some other solutions my Nexus 5X booted and booted.
And suddenly it booted one time to the Pattern screen. I entered the pattern and waited again for the bootloop after google animation.
But then the google animation finished and a short black screen with s small blue line in the middle of the display appeared. Looked like a "graphics error". But then immediately the normal phone idle screen appeared. The phone started!
I immediately went to the DEV-Options and Allowed OEM-unlock. And I took screenshots of the current configuration.
The current Android is 8.1
Is it recommended to flash an older version of Android to prevent a new Bootloop?
I had the same issue after the latest Android update on my Nexus 5X.
Have you left the device in charge before it manage to start?
Thanks
EDIT: Solved leaving it unplugged.
Hey buddy try Nexus Root Toolkit v2.1.9 it will unlock your bootloader without turning your phone on it worked for me.

NRT isn't going to work unless you previously allowed for oem unlock in developer options. If you haven't done that and you can't boot into recovery or the system you're kind of sol.

does that software (dc unlocker) actualy works? i've got the same issue with honor 8 pro, which opt. you have selected.
In my case before my N5X started bootlooping I allowed OEM unlock but didn't enabled USB Debugging Mode in Developer options. Is there a way to unlock bootloader with USB Debugging Mode disabled? I want to try the UNBLOD tool, but unlocked bootloader is a requirement.

I have hit dead end after dead end, after many hours, just want to get copy of text messages off this phone somehow, and then erase all data. I have spent many hours on this, my level of experience with all this is beginner/intermediate, as I'm sure you will be able to tell by the ramble below. Skip to the last paragraph **** with the asterisks to get to the important part of my inquiry. if you don't want to read about what I have tried already.
Before you suggest the obvious, replace lcd, let me say that the motherboard lcd connector is damaged beyond repair. water damage, but the phone boots normally and seems to run fine. phone calls ring and other sounds indicate the phone is able to function but no display or touch function obviously. the usb port works. Also there is no samsung account on the phone so that option to bypass screen lock does not help. Kies, smart switch, etc don't help due to the "screen lock"
ie... There is a basic swipe to unlock "lock" on the phone, so otg cable options also hit a dead end. There are workarounds to bypass other lockscreens, but no way to do the swipe over otg that I can find. And even if/once I am able to swipe to unlock over otg, there are other obstacles to get around that may not be possible (click ok, navigate to enable usb debugging). If I am wrong here and there is an obvious solution I am missing, let me know (explain in detail if you can) and I will get the hub & cable back out and try again!
Dr.phone android recovery (data recovery/damaged device option) looks like the most promising, and here I have also run into trouble. Dr phone will put the phone into download mode but then always seems to fail "flash recovery package failed" at some percentage. dr.phone downloads the recovery package (I am selecting the correct model n910v) successfully, but the percentage before flash recovery package fails changes. It hasn't made it past 85%. the dr.phone log files don't reveal anything to my untrained eye.
Before running dr.phone, adb "permission denied"...after using dr phone, however, while the phone is still powered on and in download mode, once I close dr phone, I am able to start to get somewhere with adb! adb devices shows the phone as an emulated device, and (some) adb commands start to work! I think if I just am able to find the exact location of the stock messaging log, I will be very close.
If anyone can suggest some commands to try in adb to grab just the sms log I would be very grateful!
I can run "adb backup", and have tried a few other adb commands, but none of the standard backup commands actually contain a sms log.
***Anyway, I think the best option might be to flash a custom recovery after getting the phone in download mode & adb working successfully (showing as an emulated device) with dr.phone as described above... However I have no way to tell what firmware version the phone is running (don't want to brick it or loose data), and I am really looking for specific directions on which clockworkmod or twrp recovery file to try for n910v, that will allow me to get a sms backup, and/or a recovery that will have usb debugging enabled.
Thanks for the input! sorry for the rambling post, I hope it's possible to make sense of it.. ANY help greatly appreciated!

This tool might work for you. Ive never used it myself but it looks promising. It supposed to be able to control your phone on your pc.
For the custom recovery, it should tell you what model you have when you boot into download mode but the TWRP for the note 4 has been unified so it should work either way. This link is for the most recent version. Get the .tar file if you're looking to use ODIN to install it.
Thanks for the reply! The tool you inked to requires USB debugging switched on. I was looking at it previously but didn't consider it because of this. I have USB debugging off, and the process I described with the dr phone windows application /download mode, doesn't turn usb debugging on.
Is there a way that I can flash a recovery for the note 4 that has USB debugging enabled from the start? If anyone knows please describe the process or post the link.
I think I need step by step instructions or screen shots for what to do with the Note 4 twrp recovery. I am trying to acquire a second phone so I can view the screen and know what buttons to press, but so far it is not looking like I have enough information to do sms backup from the twrp menus..on the device when I can't see the screen.
I see reference to being able to use adb commands to control the twrp recovery / backup process, but so far I haven't found anything that will help for my particular situation. If anyone knows what adb commands to use to pull the note 4 sms files , or a backup that includes them, PLEASE let me know.
thanks again
Note this is NOT the Blu R1 HD that Amazon sold with advertising built in; it is a separate more expensive model named BLU R1 PLUS. I have searched online for several weeks and not a peek how to Root BLU R1 Plus except the standard promises of paid root services and of course Kingroot. I've used Kingroot before on other phones in desperation but it seems you never get all of their app off your phone even if they are able to root it.
Has anyone any idea how to root this phone? Thank you!
If you have rooted your BLU R1 PLUS (not the Amazon Prime model) if you would share how, I will be more than grateful. Thank you.
Seriously? Still not a single method to root this device?
I think it's a great fone (with a few issues like multi-touch), but still... Wanted to mess with some root tweaks since several months ago.
Any news on this thread?
I have the same problem, i had it since a year ago i dont get how there is not a single root method yet.
I don't know either. The boot loader is locked on this one. I believe all the effort went into cracking the Amazon commercial one. I am guessing there are only a couple of people who can crack them and they either stay busy with more exciting models (the cheapest ones are not always the most popular for some reason, it's the opposite with me). Yes I made the mistake of purchasing the BLU R1 Plus without researching that all the love was being spent on the other models, otherwise this appears to be a really nice phone. I've had it for nearly 6 months and it's still in the box because I am using my old cracked face BLU until I hear how to root this one. I don't use them unless I can root and add secure Xposed environment. Too much, too exposed to the laughable "free" world of apps. I like the BLU phones. This one even has an extra long battery life and doesn't require a bank loan to purchase as most of the popular ones do
Also I tried Kingroot on this one in desperation .... massive list of failures and not sure what condition it left the phone in.

Hello!
I need help regarding a Redmi Note 8 that no longer accepts the correct pattern and is locked.
I'm looking for a solution that would allow me to either unlock my phone without data loss, or make a backup of the phone's internal storage on an sd card/pc before hard resetting.
The device is not rooted and I don't have custom recovery installed. USB Debugging is on, but my laptop is not authorized.
With Adb, the device is detected but unauthorized. It seems to be detected normally in fastboot mode. I was able to get my laptop to detect it in recovery mode by clicking on "Connect with MIAssistant" while it was plugged in, but only in sideload mode. I also somehow managed to get into safe mode, but I used the stock screen lock, so unless there's something else that can be done in that mode, it doesn't seem useful in this situation.
I tried the actual MIAssistant software but it tells me to update my device before connecting. From what I found, this is because it doesn't even work with phones running Android 6.0 Marshmallow or above, so that seems to be a dead-end, unfortunately. Downloaded from here, updated to version 3.2.1.3111. If there's a newer version that could support my device, even an untranslated one, I would love to know, but I couldn't find a working one.
I had some ideas that could potentially solve my problem, but couldn't find a way to actually execute them, so here they are in case someone out there who knows more than me could help me with one of them.
1, Is there any way I could authorize my laptop for USB Debugging without being able to accept the prompt on screen?
2, Is there a way to make a backup of the internal storage of my phone in fastboot/sideload mode?
3, Is there a way to get adb to detect this device normally in recovery mode, instead of in sideload mode?
4, Is there a way to get my device into mtp/ptp mode instead of charging mode when connected to a PC without USB Debugging so I can copy my files?
5, Here's a thread I found that seems promising, although it's old. Could I somehow use this, or a similar method on Redmi Note 8? The Recovery Mode is much more limiting on this device, unfortunately, so I can't exactly follow this tutorial. Are there alternatives that can be done in adb fastboot/sideload mode, perhaps?
6, If I am forced to hard reset, is there any software out there that could recover at least some of the deleted data afterwards, or is everything lost in case of a reset?
I am open to new ideas not listed above, as well. I am not a very advanced user so I probably missed some things.
Thank you so much for any answer in advance!

Even if you can copy your files to PC, they are problably unusable because of encryption.
That is why you need that pattern
For security this is exactly what you want, if your phone is lost or stolen.

Do you mean that the reason it doesn't accept the correct pattern anymore is for security? I would have thought it would still accept the correct one, at least after several tries of the same thing. Being completely locked out even when you know the correct password is a little strange to me.

Howdy bro (I also have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 8).
I've been almost two intense weeks reading and watching the XDA forum, trying somehow and I did not find the way to unlock it .... Besides that I have the Bootloader disabled it makes me more difficult, because for that I need to format my phone and is what I do not want .... Already today is my last day of searching and I think I will have to leave my memories behind and Format my cell phone.
