Folks, I am seeing very strange behaviour - my HTC in general works fine except situations when I connect the phone over USB no matter if it is car unit or my mac. after using it and disconnecting I see in time that phone loosing higher than usual battery even on standby
only restarting the phone helps (this does not apply to charging the phone using charger and USB cable)
- in normal conditions phone eats 1% during standby 1 hour
- in those weird scenarios battery use is 3-4% during standby 1 hour
any thoughts?
Any chance you leave your 4G on or use an app that uses the device? Cuz USB charging is so weak and it would charge the battery very slowly even with your screen off.

Hello all,
I am facing a weird issue and will be grateful if some solution is available for the same.
What Happened:
1) I had connected to a PC via a USB cable for data transfer.
Observations:
1) The cellphone had shut down unexpectedly
2) Battery was overheated
Steps taken after the issue:
1) Removed the batter for 5 minutes
2) Inserted the battery
3) Cellphone started working once again
Issues after all the dilemma:
1) Battery had drained out at the end of the day
2) Connected AC charger, and the cellphone showed 100% charged immediately as soon as it was connected.
3) Same thing happened when connected with USB
4) Still kept it connected to the charger overnight. The phone was charged, completely.Happily used it for the full day but at the end of the day again the battery was drained out again. During this the indicator did not refresh at all. The batter indicator was full during discharge fo the battery
5) And now the phone cannot connect to the USB for charging or data transfer as well.
I will appreciate any help for this issue
Thanks in advance!
i face some problem. Just take your phone to service center. Now my phone don't act like this
I think you need to re-calibrate you battery. Try Zep* battery calibrator or download one from the market, or you can do it manually, just search xda on battery calibration.
I calibrated my note 8. After charing my note to 100% and used it the next day, then it reach 93%.. then i connect it to a laptop using my original usb cable. then after transfering my files i noticed that my battery reach 100% again even if i only connected it for about 5mins, is it normal? is it the effect of battery calibration? thanks for your answers
My 12.2 Tab Pro loses about 10% charge for every hour in use: about right, I think. It takes about an hour to charge about 10% when not in use: rather slow in my opinion.
When I am using my Tab while connected to the mains, it will not charge. In fact, it loses about the same amount as when it is not being charged.
Using in this context is reading books (Kindle), reading newspapers (PresReader) and web browsing.
I have tried USB 3 and USB 2 plugged into a mains plug, and USB 2 directly connected to a mains plug. I have tried different cables and plugs. They all behave similarly.
Should it not charge when in use?
Are you using the Samsung charger and cable that came with your tablet?

Amongst others, yes.
I have same problem with mine. Battery can die super quick from 100%, then a restart shows it with 60% (as example) battery. Are you rooted? I've seen others with similar problems, but no answers. Thinking of sending back to get fixed

Are you charging it from the computer?
Mine doesn't take an hour to charge 10%. You probably have a defective unit.
If it takes an hour to charge 10% using the stock cable and charger, there's a hardware fault somewhere, be it your cable, charger or the tablet itself.

USB ports do not provide enough current to charge these devices. I understand that, when on, the power drain exceeds input from USB sources. I use AC with adapters rated at 2 A. I also have a car charger with that current rating that plugs into the car lighter. USB ports, whether in computers, cars, or airport lobbies are useless.
If you are using wall plug rated at 2A and are not charging, then one of the 3 components is bad (charger, cable, or phone).

I'm also having the same issue . I have left it plugged in ( wall outlet ) and off for an entire day and it still wasn't charged 100% . I am rooted .

I bought my Tab pro 8.4 in June 2014. I use it about an hour each day and charge it when the charge drops below 30 percent.
Recently I have noticed, it takes all night to charge. This should not happen. my Ipod touch charges in less than 1 hour and its an old version 3, (6 years old or more)..
I am using the wall plug that came with the unit, to charge it. It should not be taking 12 hours.
This seems to be a problem with these 8.4's.
there are a number of possible causes: bad battery, port, charger, power source, too many apps .... you might want to read this guide on how to fix an Android phone that doesn’t charge (or discharges) when connected to a power source to help you identify the cause and fix it

I have the exact same issue with My Galaxy Note Pro. It will not charge while in use and the battery drains extremely fast even with most all settings turned off and screen brightness turned down. I turn the tablet off every night to charge and the charging speed is extremely slow. I am using all Samsung OEM cables and chargers. Ive tried USB 2 & 3 cables with no noticeable difference. I am going to do a factory wipe and then closely monitor the power useage. Im starting to think that there is an issue with the Note Pro based on the sheer amount of users reporting the same or similar problems.
If anyone has figured out the culprit behind this issue, please pass it along!
Battery indication issues
I have the same problem with charging the Note Pro 8.4.
After some investigation and multiple tries it seems very much that the reported battery level is not in line with "reality".
It happened numerous times that while the tablet was on and charging, the battery level did not go up or only 1% every hour or so. After reboot the reported battery level was much higher.
I decided to throw some apps from the tablet which vastly improved the battery level indication and more or less seem to work as expected. I know from previous experiences with my Note 2 that some apps/widgets can wreak havoc on very basic functionality like charging. For example the stock picture frame widget on the old Note 2 had the effect the charging icon did not update. After reboot of the phone it was much better. Removing the widget solved the problem.
All in all carefully check installed apps/widgets on the Note Pro (8.4) because the firmware does not seem to cope well with certain apps/widget combination whatever that may be...
On every other phone, using them connected to the car via USB gradually charges the phones.
With my Mi10T Pro just running AndroidAuto on the same car causes the phone to lose charge. I'm using stock 12.0.7 international.
Anyone else having excess battery drain while using AndroidAuto connected to a car?
Now working ok - phone gradually accumulates charge while using AA connected. Took a few reboots and that seems to have solved whatever was eating battery.
I think you have slow charger
So I'm running the latest version of Microg for Lineage (20230313) & rooted on my Poco F3 and I'm having some serious problems with charging my phone.
About a week ago I downloaded Advanced Charging Controller (ACCA) because I wanted do automate charging overnight and stuff. What I didn't know however was that some Xiaomi Devices appear to have a buggy PMIC that causes trouble. And that's exactly what I noticed when I tried to regulate the maximum charging current. My Phone just wouldn't want to charge up anymore when I tried limiting the current. So eventually I just gave up on the whole Idea and uninstalled the app. However my Phone ever since behaves weird when charging.
On my PC (normal 5v slow charging) it just refused to charge at all. I then tried connecting it to the included power adapter and that worked fine. So fast charging worked normally. When I then plugged it to my PC I think it worked fine again. Or at least I got it to charge after some reboots or so.
However battery usage overnight has increased quite a lot ever since. Every morning I wake up with 15-20% less battery than the moment I put my phone aside before I went to sleep. Before that was a lot less. I don't know how much exactly but I believe it was around 5% or so (I might be wrong here).
When I plug in my phone to charge it up I get the android notification "Charging this device via USB" as usual. But when I unplug the USB cable the notification will not disappear until I click on it and then select file transfer or any of the options and then after a second or two it will go away and the options become grayed out. The battery indicator however does report that the phone does not charge anymore the instant I disconnect the USB cable.
Now today I connected the phone to my PC again and wanted to charge it. But it just didn't want to charge once again and the android notification didn't show up. So I connected it to the included power adapter which worked fine. And then I connected it back to my PC and it now charges flawlessly and the notification even disappears after disconnecting the USB cable.
I believe that the high battery usage overnight has something to do with android still showing the "Charging this device via USB" notification because AccuBattery reports that the phone won't go into deep sleep mode when the screen is turned off. And now after I shortly connected the phone to the included power adapter to (at least temporarily?) fix the issues the phones does go into deep sleep mode. So I assume android thinks the phone is still being charged and thus doesn't enter deep sleep mode even though the device is not charging.
However I'm quite annoyed by the weird behavior of the phone, especially the high battery usage overnight. Things I have tried to resolve this issue include: Reflashing both slot a and b with the latest version of LineageOS. Going into fastboot and typing "fastboot reboot bootlaoder" into CMD hoping that would reset the PMIC or something (because I read that somewhere). None of this seems to have resolved my issues. Maybe there are some configuration files that Advanced Charging Controller (ACCA) left behind the cause trouble however I have no Idea how to find and delete them.
I would really appreciate any advice from you as this is my daily driver.
Oh and feel free to ask any questions if you need further details.
Pococ31 support
Really
Try reflashing to stock miui and see if the problem still persist.
I had the same problem and i tried the following:
1)reflash firmware
2)reflash LOS
3)wipe everything and reflash
It was only fixed after flashing stock rom and relocking the bootloader.
Try flashing stock miui and reloading bootloader
If you want slower charging, why don't you just use a different, slower charger?
Altho have to say, temps should be fine with the 33w charger, just don't use the phone while charging.
ACC works fine for me, but I only use it for limiting the max charge-% to 80%
I'd say reflash & factory reset your ROM. And stop using PC Motherboard Charging, it's pointlessly slow.
Similar issue happens with my Poco F3 about using ACCA and limiting current, phone just charges and stops charging then charges again and then stops charging again, rinse and repeat, on average this makes the phone only charge at like 1500mA or so even though I am limiting it to 3000 or 4000 mA.
There is something that works better though, not as precise as what you want, but simply limiting charging voltage instead of limiting current works without issues in my phone, so for example if you limit it at 4150mV it will start charging at the max speed possible, but as charge percentage increases, charging voltage also needs to increase to maintain the same charging speed, so for example when you are at 35% charge, it will no longer charge at maximum mA but maybe 20% lower of max speed, for example 4800 mA instead of 5700 mA, and when you are at 50% speed would be 4000 mA, these are just invented numbers so you get an idea, you can lower these numbers by decreasing charging voltage and increase them by increasing charging voltage.

Acc kills charging chips on poco, charge controller is very buggy that in fact major roms disabled the feature of charge control entirely.
Expect more problems down the line after using it...
