unlocking desire 526 verizon - HTC Desire 526

I bought the unlock code for my HTC desire 526 locked on verizon. but i couldn't use it because my phone never ask for unlock code even when i put unsupported sim cards..THE phone is locked to verizon USA and i have tired all the GSM simcard that i can lay my hands on and i have change the netwrok setting form CDMA to GSM but still no luck
Is their any special way that am supposed to push the unlock code into the phone???
thanks in advance

Verizon 4G phones are SIM unlocked as mandated by the FCC.
It won't ask for a SIM unlock code anywhere, but it should work on other carriers. I bought mine and used it on T-Mo US from day 1, then switched to Iusacell/AT&T Mexico and had no issues. All I had to do was manually configure the APNs and deal with the Verizon bloatware.
What error messages do you get when you put in a non-Verizon SIM? I only get the SIM card is not from Verizon Wireless message but other than that the phone works fine.

hot spot
I have the Verizon 526 using att sim and works great only I can not get mobile hot-spot to work do you have an issue or know of a fix to it

I was reading up on this issue earlier. Would have to figure out how to disable the Verizon hotspot app and use a third party app most likely. Verizon programs account authorization into this phone's tethering app.
On a device without native tethering enabled, I was able to temp root, use chainfire's hotspot control app to enable authentication over WiFi, but because there was no native support on that phone, I had to install a proxy server on it to get traffic to pass back & forth between the cloud and connected wireless clients.
Not sure if that helps, but it's a place to start. I'm going to try building a rom for the desire 526, so maybe a lot of these vzw annoyances will no longer be an issue

[Q] After SIM Unlock, Tethering and Mobile Hotspot not Working

Hi,
I bought a Samsung Note 2 from T-mobile last year with the tethering service (paid). The tethering and mobile hotspot worked fine.
Now, I am in Asia, and so I requested for a SIM unlock code from T-mobile, and it doesn't work; even T-mobile gave up and asked me to pay one of those unlock companies to unlock, and then T-mobile will reimburse.
After researching online, most unlock companies require to revert back to T-mobile factory Android 4.1.1 ROM.
Then, I did so. But rather than paying for someone to unlock for me, I followed the instruction of some online post to bring up the debug screen to run "network initialliz" (right, weird spelling).
I successfully unlocked my phone to use a local SIM card; then, I did the software upgrade through the "about device" screen to Android 4.1.2; but then I am not able to use tethering and mobile hotspot.
When I check tethering, it just unchecks itself without any error message on the screen.
When I slide to turn on mobile hotspot, it just slides back to "off".
I have done factory reset, and wiping cache from the recovery screen. Nothing works.
Then, I brought my phone to the carrier shop to check the APN settings, and it is correct because the sale guy had a Note 2 with the same setting and it worked for him.
Then, I took my SIM card to try on my sister's S3, and both tethering and mobile hotspot work.
Any idea how I can fix it without rooting?
I don't mind doing something more technical (as I worked as a software engineer for a phone manufacturer before...flashing hundreds of phones there).
If I post at the wrong place, I apologize; and please let me know where to post.
Thanks in advance.
I have similar experiences. I use an app like Hotspot Control or Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot to enable it while I am traveling.

Thanks for your confirmation.
Did you unlock your phone through the hidden debug menu? Or an unlock company? Or with the unlock code from T-mobile?
T-mobile said that the way I unlocked "might" not unlock "deep enough".

HTC One's MVNO Setting

Hey guys, I'm wondering if anyone know how to access the MVNO setting (mobile virtual network operator type) within APN of the HTC One M8.
I live in Australia and currently on the Virgin Mobile Network which is a MVNO of Optus. I was on a M7 and recently bought a M8 off a friend for cheap. However when I have installed the nano SIM, I can only make calls and texts and could not get the internet to work even when the APN settings are correct. I took it to the Virgin Mobile store and they have also tried playing around with the APN settings with no luck.
The odd thing is that when I remove the SIM card and place it in another phone it doesn't work on the other phone either . But when I try place a SIM card from another carrier (Telstra) into my M8 it works fine. Virgin Mobile has issued me a new nano SIM and I did the same tests and got the same results which is really odd. Virgin Mobile has also checked on their system and confirmed to me that internet is ACTIVE.
I've been reading around and the only other solution I can think of is accessing the MVNO setting and changing in to IMSI in hope it works. If anyone could please tell me how to access MVNO on the M8 it would be much appreciated.
Network: Virgin Mobile
Phone is SIM unlocked
Bootloader unlocked, S-OFF and Super CID
ROM: Android revolution HD 21.0
Firmware : 3.28.401.7
Most likely you need a different radio...

I just checked on my phone under mobile networks > APNs and at the very bottom I get the option to choose the MVNO type and value, so the only thing I can suggest is making a twrp backup of your current arhd and flashing another rom with that option (since it's not appearing on the one you're using).
The rom I'm on right now is Dirty Unicorns.
I think you might be on to something

I need to try to this my imei number is no goodfrom the previous owner whofiled it lost when he thought it had been stolen yet lucky me it showed up a day after he the replacement did for the HTC One Max????? (HTC6600LVW) yet I am sticking with my Galaxy Note 3 as the 200 difference from the CPU is a great deal when being held next to each other... So I've decided to sell it to my roommate who uses metro pcs told her to buy an unlock pin for her SIM card to work. I read about rooting the phones but being that it is not mine I'm not lying to the poor girl am I?

[Q] Enable Mobile Hotspot on Unlocked ATT Galaxy Note 2

We have a Galaxy Note 2 from ATT now. Just upgraded, so we're not using it. We want to take it to Europe to use as a phone and a hotspot for our computers on our trip. I've read that people do that with unlocked Androids and a European SIM.
I was able to unlock the phone with no problem using a data only T-Mobile SIM card in the process. The problem is that I can't turn the Mobile Hot Spot on. I've tried with the valid data only T-mobild SIM installed. When I try to turn the hotspot on, it says that either the network is not available, or there's an invalid SIM. I'm worried that it's the ATT restrictions on the phone that aren't going away even if the phone is unlocked, and there's a different SIM in place.
Does anyone know what we have to do to enable the hotspot, so that this phone can be used in Europe?
Thanks.
Try with wifix.apk

Thanks. That looks like a good app to fix problems connecting to external wifi sources. However, I want my phone to BE the wifi source when in Europe. Still looking for a solution.

The thing that sticks out to me is that you actually need the correct Sim card that is provisioned for phone service.. I'm assuming this "data only sim" was provisioned for a tablet and therefore can't make any calls... the network unavailable message will show up even with no Sim installed and trying to enable a hotspot. You need a valid cell service in order to hotspot.
Hope Getting the Right SIM will do it.

Thanks. I hope that's what the problem is. It would make things simpler to be sure. I just didn't want to get there and then find out it wasn't going to work. In the meantime, I found my old Galaxy S 3. I managed to unlock it, root it, and install basic ROM. Thought maybe that would work, as well. I'll know by next week.

activate no sim

I'm newer to rooting and all of this fun stuff and i have a general question is there a way (even if its frowned upon) to activate a phone on a GSM network with no sim no plan no account (obviously a rooted phone) like for instance i have an older at&t phone can i get it activated on 4G LTE or even just 4G without putting a sim in it or even having an at&t account
thanks in advanced guys!

Question Unlock version from Google on AT&T in the states

I'm wanting to get the Pro in black with 256gb storage but need to know if anyone is using any unlocked version from Google (not carrier branded that had be unlocked) on AT&T network and getting volte with calls. My company pays for my work # and just gives me the SIM to use in my own phone since I don't want an iPhone that they provide. I currently use a Huawei Mate 20 X and have that SIM working along with my personal # that's on T-Mobile (dual sim phone). Unfortunately due to AT&Ts whitelist any calls made/received on that # switches to 3G, this will make my current phone unusable after they shutdown 3G this Feb.
TIA for any info
I have an unlocked 6 pro on att and I think volte is working but don't know how to verify. I know wifi calling is working which was an issue with my previous unlocked phone
Unlocked Pixel 6 Pro user with ATT here. The wifi-calling works perfect, and surprisingly the visual voicemail is enabled. It seems to work just like an ATT-based phone without the bloatware. Odd thing is you cannot change the mobile network. Read somewhere here the ATT disabled this setting for some reason when connected to their network.
HD Voice (AT&T version of VoLTE) works perfectly well, as does WiFi calling, provided of course your account is provisioned for such.

Thanks, good to know. Currently with my Mate 20 X when on a call with the AT&T line the network switches from 4G lte (when not on a call) to 3G (when on a call) then back to 4G lte after the call has ended.

@Vash369 - thanks for sharing your feedback. does your unlocked P6P support dual SIM, e.g., physical sim card and an e-sim?

I'm not who you asked, but I believe all the factory unlocked P6Ps support dual SIM via a discreet SIM card and the built-in e-SIM.

Yep it does. It shows this in Google's spec sheet page. Mind you I'm only using physical SIM. So I don't know if both will work at the same time
Another unlocked/rooted P6P working fine on AT&T here. I just sim swapped from my old phone and it worked right out of the box.
