Strange Boot issue after (successful) Google Factory IMG flash

I have the same issue as another user has here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-9/help/internal-problem-device-nexus-9-t3112827
his solution executed without errors, but sadly did not solve the issue
Short Description:
used FlashAll from Google Factory Image,
flashed successfully
0.1 sec into the boot animation it freezes, and then loops
Med Description:
Had same "internal problem" error as on here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-9/help/internal-problem-device-nexus-9-t3112827
Thought it was caused by a bad Gapps download
Decided to use the Google Factory Image to solve the problem
Factory Image solved the problem
Flashed same ROM (Orion) with kernel (ElementalX for 6.0.1) and correct Gapps
Same "internal problem" issue
Decided to use the Google Factory Image (latest 6.0.1) to get back to stock
Full stock bootloop
Long Description:
Running PureNexus ROM (for almost a year)
Changed the built prop
Caused boot issue
Decided to flash Orion http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/development/rom-orion-os-2-2-t3321949
With ElementalX 6.0.1 http://elementalx.org/devices/nexus-5x/
Got "internal problem" error as on here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-9/help/internal-problem-device-nexus-9-t3112827
Used Google Factory image (latest 6.0.1) , successfully got back to Stock
Made a full TWRP backup (including vendor and EFS)
Decided to re-flash Orion, ElementalX, Gapps
Booted into Orion, but same "internal problem” error as before
Restored to the full stock TWRP backup
Bootloop
wiped everything, then restored TWRP backup
Bootloop
Used Google Factory Image 6.0.1
Bootloop
Troubleshooting
In-between everything listed below I have tried reboots, wipes, and double checked names/versions/md5’s
Manually extracted Factory Images (vendor, radio, system etc)
flashed everything using code from http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-9/help/internal-problem-device-nexus-9-t3112827
(I changed the code to work for the 6.0.1 Factory Image)
Same Issue (boot loop)
Locked / Unlocked boot loader via fastboot
Same Issue (boot loop)
*reset with Google Factory Image 7.0*
Same Issue (boot loop)
*reset with Factory Image 6.0.1*
flashed ElementalX 6.0.1, set all kernel settings to stock
*reset with Factory Image 6.0.1*
Same Issue (boot loop)
flashed TWRP via Nexus root toolkit by Wugfresh
wiped correct partitions
flashed 7.0 xperianz ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/development/rom-xperianz-nexus-rom-nexus-5x-t3479114
flashed 7.0 Gapps
boot animation changed, but still froze and looped after 0.1sec
*reset with Factory Image 6.0.1*
flashed TWRP via fastboot via Nexus root toolkit
formatted data (NOT factory reset) via TWRP
attempted to boot (with no OS)
stayed on GOOGLE screen, never looped
*reset with Factory Image 6.0.1*
flashed TWRP via Nexus root toolkit
formatted data (NOT factory reset) via TWRP
flashed 7.0 xperianz ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/development/rom-xperianz-nexus-rom-nexus-5x-t3479114
*did NOT flash Gapps or kernel*
boot animation changed, but still froze and looped after 0.1sec
Any suggestions would be appreciated, as this device is ( or … was ) my daily driver
It's seems to be a hardware issue. Probably there is the problem with eMMC chip. When you had "Internal problem", did you try flash vendor.img?

Sadly I did not flash the vendor.img, but I should have. It would have probably fixed that problem.
Based on external factors I doubt it’s a hardware issue, but based on the software it seems like a hardware problem is the only thing that could cause something like this :/

Is it safe to do a factory reset while having twrp.

I don't have root just TWRP and I need to factory reset is it safe, will it remove TWRP???
no, just boot into TWRP and make factory reset

Help! Stuck on Google splash screen after restoring from factory image

I decided to reset my phone and then upgrade to 7.1.2, so I wiped everything and used Wug's toolkit to flash the new 7.1.2 system image.
Now it just sits on the black and white splash screen. I have tried factory resetting again and reflashing the different imgs in the factory image zip separately.
Have any of you encountered this problem?
I am not an experienced user but I had a similar issue yesterday when I wiped everything and decided to upgrade to 7.1.2 and my phone got stuck at the loading screen of the OS. Turns out there is no cache.img included in the zip file. So i reinstalled TWRP recovery and attempted to wipe cache whereupon it created that partition. I was able to boot then!

How to update N5X from rooted DP4 to final Oreo version?

Hello Team, currently I have the following setup on my N5X:
Factory DP4 + magisk root + elementalx 5.02 and I want to update it to latest Oreo version, how can I do it without wiping my data?
Thanks!
You can't ATM. You have to either wait for a custom ROM, or tweak the image to not wipe data.
You can download the dev image file zip and edit the flash-all script/bat and remove the '-w' option (which is wipe) - or you could extract all the img files from the zip and manually flash each one in fastboot - again, except /user. OR, you can flash latest 7.1.2 August kernel, system, and boot imgs (unroot, restore stock images) then check for an ota - I just did this
Thanks! @Bingley

TWRP, Factory Img Flash question

On Phalanx's recommendation I have downloaded factory images and intend to update from 8.1 to 9.0 via fastboot.
I do have a question though - I have newest TWRP installed - does flashing factory image remove TWRP? I want to to a wipe and have a clean install using homeboy's guide. Can I use TWRP to flash the factory image, if so is there an advantage to doing it via fastboot instead?
Sorry if this a dumb question, i just remember back in the day I could load up CWM recovery, and flash roms to my hearts content.
Thanks yall!
