help me pleas . cannot root my HTC One M8 - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello developers today I've unlocked the bootloader for my htc one m8 ( model 0P6B670 ) running android 6.0 and also installed TWRP recovery ( twrp-3.0.2-0-m8.img ) and made a backup of the firmware .
now i want to root the device I've downloaded SuperSU (SuperSU-v2.56-20151030013730 ) and installed it but it seems i did not get any root access ,when i open the super su app it says ( there is no SU binary installed ).
I've read some threads and i found out that my device should run a modified boot image and i can't find that file to flash , so where to find modified boot image file for my m8 and are there any other methods to root without modified boot image .:crying:
sorry for bad english language cause it is not my nature language ..thanks .

Download and install SuperSU 2.65 - https://download.chainfire.eu/921/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.65-20151226141550.zip
You don't need modified boot.img.
But you may need custom kernel for full write protection disabled.
Here is a custom kernel based on your software version 6.21.401.1 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66053720&postcount=778

thank u so much i will try that and let u know .

AFAIK .. there is no bug in that kernel. For now I'm on the kernel for GPE made by the same Dev as I'm running GPE ROM.
You can always try a different kernel if you want to.

LG Optimius E615

Hi All,
I wish to start a new thread for LG Optimus E615 with the hope that 615 users will get help from XDA colleagues for unlocking the boot loader, install custom recover, kernel and ROM. I am not a developer, so sorry for my ignorance if I type anything funny.
We have a good rooting guide for 615 written by XxXKINGMAKXxX @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2098550 . A lot of thanks to him. I have seen dedicated pages for LG 610 and 612 in XDA for unlocking the boot loader and for custom recrovery and ROM that support overclocking and other features.
I welcome help from everyone those wish to assist us.
Regards,
GG
After rooting using the link you provided, you have instructions in this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2163698 - to unlock bootloader and install CWM recovery. There is a link there with specific E615 files for bootloader unlocking.

Thanks for your reply. However a reboot loop issue has be reported from many guys and the fix for the reboot issue is to install the unofficial firmware by Chacha_Ivanov, Right? I believe Chacha_Ivanov firmware is only for E610 / 612 right? 615 is dual SIM and will it be suitable? Or just wanted to know whether the reboot loop issue is there with E615 official firmware?
Regards,GG
I found an active discussion in 4PDA.ru regarding E615 kernel, ROM. .. here goes the translated page http://translate.google.com/transla...da.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=396754&st=520

[GT-I9500] Kernel Auto-Root & recovery for russian i9500XXUAMDK and i9500XXUAMDE. PIT
Hello,
All Russians can follow this link: http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=456699&view=findpost&p=21639622 with guides in russian.
Since I found here on XDA my kernel taken from russian forum I decided to open this thread.
For those who need classic root on I9500 (SER) I have built the kernel with root and hereafter 3 files attached for you:
1. Kernel (insecure) with root (SuperSU, busybox). (boot.img.tar). Kernel (zImage) is not modified.
2. Recovery (recovery_exp.tar) from cofface.
3. Stock kernel (Kernel_XXUADMK.tar)
How to obtain the root:
1. Flash boot.img.tar via Odin as PDA
2. Reboot, then start SuperSU. It will ask to update binary. Tap "yes". That's all. You have a root access.
3. If you need fresher version of SuperSU, you may always update it via GooglePlay then update binary via SuperSU.
4. Then, if you need modified recovery, you may flash recovery_exp.tar (via Odin as PDA) or another suitable recovery.
5. If you need OTA, Kies update etc you may keep root with official kernel. In this case you don't flash the recovery and after step #3 you flash the stock kernel back. It removes "Custom" status.
Enjoy.
View attachment boot.img.tar
View attachment Recovery_EXP.tar
View attachment Kernel_XXUADMK.tar
View attachment stock_kernel_XXUAMDE.tar
P.S. boot.img.tar is not the latest build of russian XXUAMDK kernel. latest XXUAMDK has restrictive SELinux and cannot be rooted in that way.
View attachment stock_kernel_XXUAMDK.tar - this is restrictive kernel. You will lose the root.
UPD: XXUAMDK Kernel with root (based on Samsung Update 1): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41042903&postcount=20
UPD: pit file taken from russian I9500 (same as Indian one) View attachment I9500_RU.tar - this is not a tarball archive. Just change .tar extension on .pit
UPD: XXUAMDK Kernel with root (based on Samsung Update 1). busybox, su, superuser, SELinux disabled, exFAT.
Credits to: wanam, AndreiLux for the config.

Thanks for the root! Can you please post stock Kernel for i9500XXUAMDE....I've rooted previously using cofface method, and now not gettnig OTA updates. Thanks Ivan. Does flashing the stock kernel back remove the 'Custom' status, the boot screen with the lock icon?

Latest kernel with root
Hi there
I was looking for a way to disable SELinux. On running kernel it's seemed to be impossible. So made for all of us the kernel based on Samsung Update 1 and XXUAMDK (latest). Inside: Latest drivers, Latest su, SuperSU, busybox, AutoRoot. SELinux: disabled.
Just flash and have a nice root!

umm...not really..flashing a kernel has nothing to do with root...you need an unlocked bootloader...not root...i am sure there are root methods available for lower versions of your device...one thing u can do....flash an old kernel for which root method is available(eg : ICS or GB) then after root flash back the JB kernel(stock or custom),upto you/..

Ha ? Custom kernels have auto root and cwm /twrp included my friend.. And the one he telling that experimental kernel for XU JB is already have Autoroot and Cwm recovery...
Did u read his question clearly? According to his comment he is already on JB on XU.. There is no way to install JB on a locked bootloader in XU.. So probably he is in a Unlocked Bootloader and sure with a custom kernel too.. Thats y i told him to flash Experimental kernel v11.c.. Got it?

Custom kernels dont have auto-root and CWM/TWRP always(it all depends on the dev who is packing it). and there is nothing called a pre-rooted kernel. You dont root your kernel buddy, you root your ROM. Pre-rooted kernels(usually bundled alone) have a script packed with its ramdisk that roots the ROM you are running. Same goes for recovery. I can show you plenty of kernels which has all the features of Overclocking,I/O schedulers, governors etc without CWM but you need a rooted ROM . So a developer who is providing an entire ROM usually pre-roots the ROM and provides a custom kernel(usually no pre-root feature but in insecure mode). while someone who provides only a kernel to work with other roms provides a pre-rooted kernel. And even i said the same thing. I said you dont need root to flash a kernel. You need an unlocked bootloader(that also depends, There are ROMS and kernels which don't need unlocked B/L)
Yes what you mean is correct. The ROM he has installed should have root access( I mistook it for official JB firmware)
@Dark Wraith better we can leave this discussion here.. Because we both are arguing.. But where is the OP ? So its just a time waste for both of us...
And i know custom kernels should need an unlocked bootloader....

If none of the previous methods are working, then the best would be to wait for the kernel sources. The system write protection can be easily disabled while building the kernel from source.

Installin rom on locked bootloader

Hey everyone
I have the c1905
I know this must be possible as the ZNXT rom is stock kernel compatible (only one i can find that is though). I've searched but can't seem to find a way around!
My BL is "unlock allowed - no". The problem is i just can't find a way to install a recovery on 4.3.
I can use the install.bat on 4.1.2 + 4.2 to get recovery but can't install ZNXT as it needs 4.3 kernel.
My most recent attempt was to install 4.3 stock and then install 4.1.2 stock using flashtool and excluding the kernel which leaves me unable to boot 4.1.2. I can repeat the procedure using 4.2 for c2005 but i know it's not gonna work.
I found the "SXDXMZ1" rom that was available as pushable and in zip but there's no download links. I've googled it but now had to disinfect my pc as all the links are virused up.
Has anybody got around this or does anyone know of a rom that is compatible with 4.1.2 or 4.2 stock kernel? I can't seem to find one!

Thanks for the quick reply. I don't get it!! The ZNXT rom says it's LB/stock kernel compatible and even gives instructions to install on LB/stock kernel . What's the point if there's no way to install it from 4.3?? How do the creators know it's compatible if they can't install it?? And how come i can get recoveries on 4.1.2 and 4.2 if they need unlocked BL? I'm very confused here!

I understand them 4.1.2 + 4.3 recoveries were compiled by certain members who are no longer working on the project But this rom stil claims it works with stock kernel/LB

The one i just posted is for the ZNXT v1.01 which i get error status 7 when trying to install via 4.1.2/4.2 stock. I can't find the one for version 2 which i can install via aroma but wont boot, which i assume is due to it needing 4.3 kernel.
What about this:
@Nicklas Van Dam
I've just started extracting the system.sin of a stock 4.3 ftf firmware as i was gonna try and get recovery from a 4.3 custom rom (possibly from the ZNXT) and put it in the stock rom.
I thought i'd ask first to see if this is a possibility before i carry on and waste my time. In my mind it works if the recovery in ZNXT (if it has one) runs on a stock kernel.
If i'm correct the recoveries in CM roms all rely on the kernel or are built into the kernel so using them would not really be possible......... would it?
This would be my first attempt at anything on this sort of level, i've only rooted and installed custom roms before so sorry if the question is noobish.
That's why I tell you to unlocked boot loader, if you still on lock boot loader you can only modified system not to much , and you can't modified kernel on locked boot loader condition bro. I've been trying that too -_+
