ok so lately i notice the headphone becoming... sucky! and i have a lot of headphones for motorola and other cells around the house but they wont work on my dash. is there any headphones that works well with the dash?
You can get a $3-5 adapter from places like ebay and amazon that will let you plug normal headphones into the HTC jack.
Hey, I ordered one of these recently. Actually, my s620 still hasn't come, but that's another story. My accessories will be here on time.
I think I decided that this was the cheapest one that shipped from within the U.S.

It was $5.84 shipped.
edit: i just realized you might be looking for something with a mic? the one I linked to is just to plug in 3.5mm headphones.

Sorry about that. I missed that you wanted a mic. I've never been able to use those wired headsets. They won't stay in my ears. I'd much rather use my own headphones and go bluetooth for talking.

Im looking for headphones that have music seek controls (forward and back), pause, and a mic. They have to be compatible with the Atrix, as my nexus headphones are not.

Sony Ericsson MW600. Bluetooth headphones that work pretty well with the Atrix.
you need to make sure you have compatible software (music player) - there are only 4 wires (connections) - left and right audio, mic, and ground - putting more buttons doesn't change this fact.
Something has to interpret what connections you are making and breaking and turn that into actions.

I use these for both travel, and to drown out noise at work while I am constipating deeply:
Motorola S9-HD
So far I have had 5 hours battery life on a full charge, despite reading previously that a full charge was 2-1/2 - 3 hours. Now I have had time to really use them I have found it to be good. Also, the mic, although in one of the earpieces has had good feedback as far as people hearing me on calls. Atrix battery barely drains while using these over bluetooth.

I have the original S9 headphones, this 'sport headset' stopped working because of moisture while using at the gym. I just put them in a box, but discovered that this is a major and longstanding issue that Motorola refuses to address. Sound familiar?

I hear the S10 headphone are horrendous. The reviews on amazon are bad.
I have a S9-HD (came from moto warranty), and they are pretty good with Atrix. My previous phone seemed to hate them. Coudln't get a foot away without it cracking out. Seems to work okay with Atrix.
Just make sure you buy them from moto or amazon... there are a lot of fakes.
Other ones I like are the HT820's from moto, but I don't htink they sell them anymore. They are kind of big (and hurt your ears until you get used to them), but they have amazing range and like 15 hours of battery.

I have some S10s. Had a set of S9s before that. Sound reproduction on both isn't the best but as functional devices they are excellent. For good quality a headphone rather than an earphone is the way to go.
Only real downside is that the earbuds tend to ping off in your bag.
Haven't had any issues with moisture either. Even dropped my S9s in the sink once and they were fine afterwards.

I was actually looking to something similar. I tried to plug in the headphones that came with my iPhone but it doesn't seem to work for some reason. Anybody know of anything that is under the $30 mark? Don't want to spend a fortune for a wireless bluetooth headset

I still haven't figured out why they won't work. My wife picked up a set of Bose headphones from Sam's for her iPhone and the button works on my Atrix, but the stock iPhone headset doesn't.
Its most likely proprietary, like everything apple makes is.

A couple of days ago I didn't know what Apt-X was, but now I know, and... finally understand why bluetooth streaming was so horrible with my HTC Desire!
So since the S3 has this codec, and since I am going to get the S3, I would like to know which is the best bluetooth stereo headset out there that supports this?
HS3000 looks good, and might be the thing for me but it's more than a year old AFAIK. Any other suggestions? Can be any brand.
EDIT: Sound quality is priority.

What's the issue with the HS3000 being a year old? I have one and use it with my One X (also Apt-X capable), great piece of kit and cheap too. Besides that Apt-X headsets are fairly scarce at present, I know Sennheiser have several, but the prices are rather prohibitive...
If you want a real capable headphone, Sennheiser MM-550x/450x seems like a true winner in that regard
I'm looking for a new Bluetooth headset for music too... i'm currently using a Sony Ericsson MW600 which is pretty good but I'm keen to get something with apt-x support.
The HS3000 looks ok but ideally i'd like a display so i can see the number of people who call and also track information... does anyone know of a bluetooth headset with apt-x support which also has a display?
Well i'm gonna throw my MW-600 on it. It has superb sound and served me well in both my HTC Wildfire and Huawei U8800... Although if the in-ear buds that samsung provides, sound good i wont bother replacing them
Are any of the headsets mentioned "lossless" when walking fast?

Don't really think they're worth it. For that price you could have the HS3000 and buy a set of $200 IEMs and a set of $200 cans which you can use with anything with a 3.5mm output, or even use the HS3000 as an input for anything with a 3.5mm input. For most people that'll be a much higher value proposition.

Another vote for HS3000, it supports Apt-X. Using it with my HOX with some £170 iems and sounds fine for wireless playback. Small and compact.

got the HS3000 two days ago, and i must say its atleas as good as the mw600 it sounds good feels good well its all good BUT thers a damn BUT in there, its the answer button everytime you press it but mistake or otherwise it want's to redial the last number dialed. i havnt found a workaround other than installing a "call confirm" app. so now i only need a tasker profile to activate this between the hours i need it to.
Been using the Nokia Essence, it also has NFC (unfortunatly it doesnt work as planned with Android Devices). However, it does its job pretty well and did i mention it has NFC?

Yes real easy, I'm hoping that someone will develop an call confirm app that turns on at bt connect, the only apps I have found turns call confirm off on bt connection.

Sony is supposed to be releasing the Smart Wireless Headset Pro which appears to have all features of the MW600 with the addition of a micro-SD card slot (2GB card included) and Bluetooth 3.0. It looks like a nice upgrade from the MW600, but it appears that it does not support apt-X as this feature is not listed under the specs tab. It's also a bit expensive, but the street price might be somewhere south of the MSRP of $149.
EDIT: Some features are shown in this video

So like most of you, I took advantage of the free earbud promo. It's awesome that they're free, but I was wondering just how good they were? I currently have a pair of Klipsch X4i's that were also $150 back when I got them a bit under a year ago. I just didn't know if the B&O's were really an upgrade at all.

For a true audiophile user, they will just ignore these iem, it doesn't complete with your klipsch, for a normal user they are considered good, enough to bring out decent qualtity sound from the phone.
They're deemed good. But it seems a lot of peeps overlook the fact they're rated for 20hz to 16khz. No iem is going to come close to 20hz proper and 16khz? That's 4khz you're missing on the top end. Real instruments I would imagine sound weird with that much roll-off. When I saw the dynamic range was missing 4khz I immediately changed my mind to sell them. Other than that, they have been well received by users. Only other problem is there are many versions of this iem. Some tend to fall apart quicker than others. Some reviews I've read it was definitely abuse. From using these to workout with and people complaining jacket or sleeve fell off pulling several inches from jack instead of the jack itself. If you can get $100 for these I am quite sure you can use that money and find a better ear/headphone. Or pony up another $50 and options really open up.

B&O earbuds
I travel quite a lot, and have the noise-cancelling B&O H3 ANC's already - they're better than Bose in terms of sound quality, but not quite as good active noise cancelling. Definitely great for on a plane. When I really care about audio quality, I have better can options (though they don't do as well with noise cancelling).
With the DAC listening to FLAC music, there's a definite improvement in sound. That said, the H3 are middle of the road buds. I have a headphone amplifier that I use for cans; it made no difference to the H3 ANC. Still, compared to the free headphones you normally get with a cell phone, these are light years better.
I just got the above email myself.

I am having issues though, I will plug them in and get high impedance mode, unplug and do it again and get normal audio device, then again and get an external audio device is connected, wtf
Also when in high impedance mode, it says sound adjusted for devices 50ohm to 500ohm and the rating on the H3 is only 18ohm though I thought

Mine came in today and are complete garbage. I hear a bunch of static if the plug is touched or moved slightly. In one phone it only works out of one ear unless I insert it just right and as soon as the plug is moved back to one ear.
**edit. It turns out they come with some sort of oil/film on the plug that has to be cleaned off with rubbing alcohol . I didn't have rubbing alcohol so I just used my shirt and the static is almost gone.
The connector plug is ****ing garbage. It sits in there very loosely. Wtf!?
None of my other headphones have loose plugs.

Good luck with that. If I were you in that situation. I would save some more for a better IEM. I don't like Bluetooth headphones in general. But you said you have a 20$ budget so I wouldn't think you dould get a bluetooth headset for that price range. And that Bluetooth headset you ware talking about. If you like to stream music from your device to the headset it self. It will not last long (imo the 80mAh battery)
And. Always search for reviews before ordering.

Similar to a previous response, I find it hard to believe you can get any decent Bluetooth headset for $20.
Also, I'm not persuaded to the Bluetooth headphone camp (and hate that Apple has started this trend of removing the minijack from phones, with other manufacturers following suit). At a minimum, I need a solution that will work in all situations. When the batteries die on your BT headset, then what? If you don't have another headset, you can't listen to anything, that's what! And I honestly can't be bothered to have to remember to charge another device all the time.
The Panasonic Ergofit RP-TCM125 are an excellent wired earbud choice for under $20. Read up more here: http://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-headphones-under-40/
Yes, I know the Panasonics have been surpassed on this article by the AKG. But honestly, I was too lazy to have to type in all my info to order the AKGs (which also cost more) from the link, when I could just get the Panasonics through Amazon.
