everytime i do is a clean flash twrp 3.0.0 factory reset and then install =/
Don't do factory reset, do advanced reset and wipe the system, data and dalvik cache. Then factory reset just in case. Then flash the ROM again.

so i loaded cm9 ics on my fire and everything worked great. then i flashed the gapps zip and when i turn on the fire the prompt screen comes on that comes on everytime you buy a new device, the one where you are prompted to touch the android and then you will enter your info and stuff. well, everytime i touch the android, it says "unfortunately the setup wizard has stopped" with a force close button. any ideas how to get gapps on?
May not have wiped everything properly, or flashed a corrupt gapps zip.
Either way, you can get around the issue from TWRP by deleting the file /system/app/SetupWizard.apk using the built-in file manager or ADB.

Agreed, first try to wipe again. Factory reset (2x) for good measure, wipe cache, wipe Dalvik, Flash ROM, flash Gapps, boot. May even wipe cache/dalvik again after flashing. Not usually needed, but sometimes KF can get stubborn.

Question...I am too having this issue. Only difference is something happened to my USB and my computer can't install the device files anymore so I'm flashing the ROMs thru ROM manager now since I can't connect my phone to the computer. I know I'm using the right gapps but if I delete the apk for the setup wizard how will i be able to sign into my google account?
Phone: Samsung-SGH-I747
Carrier: AT&T
Andriod Version: 4.1.2
CM: 10-20121206-NIGHTLY-d2att
CWM: recovery-clockwork-6.0.1.2-d2att
I am unable to find a compatible Gapps that works with this ROM, anytime I flash Gapps I get the
Unfortunately Android Keyboard (AOSP) Stopped
As well as "Connection Error "Retry" when trying to access Google Play.
I've tried wiping the cache within the AOSP Keyboard settings as well, but this seems to be a Gapps error as the Play store stops working.
I have tried gapps-jb-20121011-signed and gapps-jb-20121130-signed.
This is the method of install I have been doing:
1) Wipe data/factory reset
2) Wipe Cache Partition
3) Advanced -->Wipe Davlik Cache
4) Install 10-20121206-NIGHTLY-d2att
5) Install gapps-jb-20121011-signed
6) Reboot
Am I doing this right? Should I wipe cache/partition/davlik cache before gapps install? Whats going on here?
Is there a proper flashing process to make these work? Or is there is comparable stable ROM that has Gapps included and works (JB ONLY)?
I re-rooted my phone and did a clean install with I747UCDLK3_I747ATTDLK3_ATT then root66_ATT_I747UCDLK3 then ROManger CWM download to get where I'm at.
My whole reason to rooting was for Google Now, I've always liked CM's work but am willing to try something else if there are any other suggestions??
Please help, I feel like I've spent WAY too much time on something that seems so simple.
You're doing this right. I don't know what could be wrong.
As a last measure, try format instead of wipe. Format boot, system, data and cache, and flash CM and gapps 20121011 again.
Good luck!

And that did the trick.
Thanks
when i try to install any rom other than cm10 and 10.1 it wont go past the boot logo i think jedi mind trick still works i have used CWM recovery and twrp recovery and i always wipe in this order; cache,dalvik,factory,system..... then i install and wipe cache and dalvik again do my gapps if there is one then another cache and dalvik and boot and i always hang on the bootlogo could the wrong gapps version make any difference ike using 4.2.1 gapps on 4.1 or 4.0 cause it not to boot it shouldnt keep it from booting
One way to find out if it is the gapps causing the problem is to install the rom, after installing the rom DO NOT install gapps and reboot the rom and see if it comes up, if it comes up fine then reboot into recovery and install gapps, then if it doesn't come up you know it is the gapps. I always install this way because I have had issues with gapps, need to make sure you have the right gapps for the rom your installing, sometimes I get a bad download and have the same problem, just redownload and try again
can't post a link yet but go to goo.im/gapps, that has helped me

Jedi mind Trick isn't too bad for our phone
To get Jedi mind trick to install without boot loop or boot hang then after you flash a ROM do a factory reset instead of wiping dalvik and cache then reboot

I flashed the S3 Sprint MOAR ROM on my phone. Other Virgin Mobile users in the MOAR thread seem to be using the ROM fine. It looks slick but I am getting a problem with com.android.phone. It FCs all the time at boot and about every 3 minutes after. I have tried flashing the MK3 and MK5 modems. I have tried flashing all of the APN fixes. I have tried reflashing the ROM several times. I have tried clearing the cache and data of Phone and Contacts. To flash I am running the latest version of Philz Recovery.
Thanks!
Did you do a " Clean " install at first ? Meaning did you wipe System - Data - Dalvik - Dalvik Cache - Factory Reset - Wipe Internal Storage. Did you verify the MD5 checksum before flashing the Rom ?

I did all of this but completely wipe out the internal of all folders. I didn't bother to remove my download, pictures, etc.
This is going to sound strange, especially after asking if you did a clean install. But try doing a dirty flash.

That was the first thing I tried actually. I figured, oh I'll just overwrite whatever broke. No dice :\. I'm wondering if its something with my phone. This isn't the first rom where I have experienced this.
Have you tried fixing permissions?
Hi,
I had been using Resurrection Remix Lollipop rom for over a year when last week, on manually rebooting, it would not get past the RR boot animation.
Using CWM recovery I tried factory reset/wipe cache/wipe Dalvik cache to no avail.
I then tried flashing a new rom CM13
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-2/orig-development/rom-t3342449
I discovered that CM13 boots fine if I do not flash gapps. However, as soon as I flash gapps, the phone gets stuck on the CM boot animation. I have tried the following gapps packages, downloaded from opengapps:
open_gapps-arm-6.0-stock-20160916.zip
open_gapps-arm-6.0-nano-20160919.zip
open_gapps-arm-6.0-pico-20160919.zip
Thanks for any ideas how to resolve this
Maybe flash back to stock with Odin, factory wipe, and start over?
I have since had success by replacing CWM with the latest TWRP and then re-flashing CM13 and gapps.
(Had to flash CM13 and gapps twice, though, to get rid of a "unfortunately play services has stopped" error during first set up!)
Crossing fingers it will all be ok now, otherwise will try as you suggest audit13, many thanks
