does anyone know is this in the works? I had an m8 and recall they had a Google edotion. I would love to just have plain android and then AOSP roms derivative from that.
If you change the communications color in HTC themes to match the Google phone app color and install messenger, you have that AOSP feel.
To top it off, move phone app to bottom left and the camera pp on the bottom right to have AOSP lockscreen layout. You can also change the phone and camera icon to match that of the AOSP lockscreen so it looks identical (won't change icons on 3rd party launchers like Google now) Then install Google now launcher, camera, and keyboard ?.
Viper10 rom has the option to remove Sense during install if you wan to go that route.

Wow that sounds great, so does it then install a stock Nexus type AOSP OS ?
Nope, its based on HTC. I see that a CM build is in the works, but very unstable.

As the title says...is it possible? I really like CM7, its faster, cleaner ...etc. but i'm addicted to sense contacts, dialer, call log..
yes, its possible, but it won't be sense, rather sense like.
yes yes, only this i really want from sense...how can i do that ?
You cannot use sense things in AOSP roms. If you want sense things, use sense. Stop, full stop, finish!
I too have moved from Sense to aosp, and found that, while some features can be replicated with other apps, others are impossible. I've managed to recreate the functionality(even the looks in some cases) for: clock widget, lock screen, contacts widget, agenda widget. The other day I've found an app called ex dialer. It looks very simillar to MIUI. It looks better than the asop version of the same apps. By using a custom launcher, you can re-create icons. With cm7 theme manager you could even apply a sense like theme.
I've tried a few Sense ROMs and was deterred by some lagginess. I'm currently using Revolution 2.0 DATA++ and I'm very happy with it.
I agree CM7 is fast as is Oxygen, but like you I prefer the Sense bits. Others I know hate it. To each his (or her) own!

Sense dialer has no alternative, bar none. On top of that, alternative dialers have no permission to clear notification bar icons (ie. missed calls) on Gingerbread.

is that true? is it because sense is that much integrated in android? It's a pitty since this is the only thing that annoys me quite a lot when using cm7 for example. I think there is no proper dialer available that is as good and I found it quite weird that the dialer in stock is so limited!
This is 4.4 KitKat Launcher without Google Now integration. Extracted from Paranoid Android AOSP 4.4 Rom. You can install as normal APK.
This Launcher will be helpful who don't want to use hotword detection and Gnow integration as they are increase battery usage so much.
Also there is no need to change LCD density for 5x5 app drawer layout.
Works great for me thanks.
Do we need to replace & install it with root explorer adding premissions, or just like normal apk?

You don't need to flash modified framework zip as Google already did for Nexus4 on 4.4.1. Just flash latest 4.4.1 OTA and install Launcher3 as normal apk. You will have translucent nav and status bar on both Lock Screen and Home screen.
Will this launcher replace original one or just be installed like nova for example?
Installed it like any other apk. transparecy is cool but icons are too big, thanx anyway.

The icons looks little blurred when the dpi is set to 180. Do we have any workaround to correct it? The icons are displayed properly with Nova, but not with Google Now Launcher and Launcher3.
Works great for me thanks.
I'm recreating the apk file with material design. I'll make a download link available if it works.

is there any progress, and can you make the latest aosp launcher with swipe to google and swipe up for app launcher
I just got my M8 recently, love this phone Rooted it, and installed InsertCoin ROM, battery life is off the charts excellent, almost as good as my old Note 2. Anyways, I tried the stock launcher for a few days, and it's very smooth and fast, but missing very important features I have gotten so used to with Nova Launcher, and I am shocked these type of settings just aren't baked into the Android OS by default already;
#1: Custom grid size, I typically go 5 x 5, and sometimes 4 x 6, but NEVER the default 4 x 4 size, and I don't understand why Android sticks with 4 x 4 as the default grid pattern with 5" + screen phones being the norm now ? Why isn't grid size an option in the system settings on all Androids phones now ?
#2: Swipe screen controls, I always use the swipe down anywhere on screen to pull the notification shade down. So I don't have to reach all the way up to the top and pull down, I can just swipe down anywhere on the screen, and that will pull the notification shade down.
But by adding a Launcher, I use the Sense widgets :crying: I never understood that one. Why would the widgets disappear as an option, but all other widgets are still there. With Google and even HTC putting some apps on the Play Store, why doesn't HTC put the Sense 6 Clock and Weather widget up on the Store, and the Calender Widget. But it totally sucks I lose some of those really cool Sense features by going to a different launcher, and I think some of these launcher features should be part of the OS by default anyways. Why isn't adjusting the grid size a standard option yet in the OS ?
So, how many of you either run stock Sense, or install a different launcher ?
Maybe it's because those things are a trademark of HTC and giving them to everybody would dilute their brand.
And you can use Sense x Toolbox (6 due very soon) to change grid size if you're rooted and with xposed.

Ok thanks. Where can I download this Sense X Toolbox ? I looked on the PlayStore not there, is it an .apk I install ? And then I also need to install Xposed framework too ?
Well, it's Sense 5 Toolbox for Sense 5 and Sense 6 Toolbox for Sense 6 (not released yet).
You can get it through xposed or the Android Revolution thread (probably second post).

Can I just install xPosed on my One M8 that is rooted and play with that ? Or must I have this Sense Toolbox thing too ? And I am guessing Sense 5 Toolbox is not for our M8, but only for the older m7 ? So do I need to wait for the Sense 6 toolbox to be released before even using xPosed ? Or I think I read about an alpha version of Sense 6 toolbox ?
Excuse me, it's sometimes hard to keep up with which device forum I'm in.
xposed is a framework for creating mods, it's does nothing on it's own.
The alpha version does everything I want it to, but I haven't tried the grids, I don't expect it to work properly due to the softkeys. I expect it to be released around this weekend. If you can find the spreadsheet, you can check what works.
Or there might be another xposed mod that will work.
Here is the Sense 6 Toolbox thread, which includes a Google spreadsheet explaining which things work on HTC One M8. I've used it on Sprint M8 and seems good so far.

I am really liking Sense 6 a lot. Typically I always use Nova Prime launcher, but something about this One M8 and Sense 6 seems nearly perfect just as is.
But I am on a custom ROM, that allows some tweaks, as well as Sense 6 Toolbox + xposed framework for more customization, while all keeping the default Sense launcher.
Anyways, I have a few different apps installed like Textra, but I don't like that icon, would like to keep the Sense 6 messaging icon. How do I change the icon back to default without using Nova launcher ?

Thanks, I installed icon changer, and that did the job.
But one thing I hate about installing so many different apps, I don't want any wake locks or issues, due to an app running secretly in the background. Is this a safe app ? I put it in Greenify to sleep just in case.

Can anybody port google's own lollipop clock app for HTC Sense 7? The new lollipop clock is so pretty imho.
I totally hate Htc didn't change their ui for phone, calender and clock apps coz the new default google's phone, calender & clock apps r so eye-refreshing.
I already downloaded & install the calender app. Didn't install the Phone app coz I still am a big fan of the intelligence capacity of Sense Phone app rather than google's. But the clock app of google didn't even install in Sense 7.
So any help guys?

That's a ported version of Google's Lollipop clock. If you mean HTC's Sense 7 clock, you can get it here.

Works an absolute treat.
I was casually wondering if this was possible on an unrooted M8, (I thought it might require flashing something via TWRP), but it's just a standard APK that can be installed in the regular fashion.
Anyhow, for anybody interested, here is a screenshot of my unrooted M8 with both 'clear' and 'solid' variants of the widget on my home screen.
