My Sony ZL Is Not CharingEven Though I Kept All Night For Charging When I Power On The Phone The Red Light Bilnks 3 times Please Help Me To Fix My Phone And My Warranty Is Expired.. Thanks In advance
hey got the same problem, try a different micro usb cable like B or just try to bend your cable to the upper right, that worked for me... it seems that the phone has a defective contact at the usb port
Try different cable
try different charger, my ZL not charging with original charger or some other working ones with smaller connector heads ,
i'm using samsung usb cable which has a bigger connector head, it connects properly!
I'm pretty sure it's the battery's fault.

My Galaxy SII now is out of battery (state off). I could not charge or turn it on.
When I connect it to charger or USB cable, it starts up, then home screen appears and it just alert 'Batter critically low' and turn off automatically. This action (startup and off automatically) repeats every several seconds if the charger or USB cable is still connected.
Here are what I have tried:
- Test my charger and USB cable with other device and it works fine (charger and USB cable are also original ones).
- Use another battery
- Upgrade and downgrade OS (Gingerbread, ICS)
Please provide me some advices.
Thanks.
clean the micro usb port of the phone with a can of compressed air and try charging again. if it doesn't work even after that, then u'll have to get ur micro usb port changed.
I have a similar issue at the moment, except I get different things with different chargers. It's a usb flex issue. Which means that it needs replacing.

i had similar but please only do this if you're brave or are planning to replace the usb/charge port.
inside the charge port you'll see a flat gold coloured tab. with a small flat blade screwdriver, gently nudge it upwards, i.e. towards the screen. then try a charge, if no joy, nudge it a bit further.
this worked for me twice. but at you're own risk etc. good luck.
move to Q&A maybe? ...
Hi All,
I purchased two items for my XP Z1 last week:
a magnetic charging cable from dx-box:
http://dx-box.com/brand-new-magneti...dapter-for-sony-xperia-z1-xperia-z-ultra.html
and a dock from online361 via amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FNJ3BFE/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The cable (EC21) from dx-box came, looked genuine, and charges whether plugged into a wall charger or a computer usb port. Great.
The dock (DK31) came, looked genuine at first glance, plugged into compter usb port, and nothing happened. I opened it up and the cable inside seems generic. I say this because the cable that came from dx-box has a sony logo on the magnetic charging end. The cable in the DK31 that I received from online361 has no such logo. I plugged it into a wall charger, and it does charge. Only half as useful as the cable from dx-box though...
I'm posting here before giving the amazon seller a bad review because:
a) The xperiablog disassembly guide clearly shows the sony logo at the cable's end
http://www.xperiablog.net/2013/09/2...-be-hacked-to-use-the-magnetic-cable-instead/
and
http://www.xperiaguide.com/2013/10/...ging-dock-dk31-dk30-xperia-z1-xperia-z-ultra/
doesn't clearly show the logo. Is it possible that this variation exist amongst genuine sony docks? Or is there a chance that xperiaguide also received a generic cable in their dock, same as me? Post about DK30 disassembly on XDA also show the sony logo on the cable.
b) Eitherway it's very annoying that the cable I got from dx-box charges whether it is a wall usb plug or a computer usb plug, whereas the DK31 from online361 does NOT charge from a computer USB post. Wondering if anyone has had similar experience, ie not dock not charging from usb port?
Thanks in advance XDA
I've got a genuine DK31, just pulled it apart and there's no Sony logo on the cable.
Haven't tried it on the PC USB plug, I only ever charge it using mains power.
I thought the dock was indeed designed to work only with mains power...?
@charliechocolate Has Sony put up EC21 charging cable on their site officially under product list page ? If Not, then it's strange that you got genuine cable....If yes, then you are lucky
Well Dock ec21 cable doesn't charge via usb port.....only via wall charger...and has no logo on it...
Why you want to charge via usb port anyway, it takes too much times almost twice as compared to via wall charger... ( NO offence please )
Here is the Dock photo we got from MobileFun, it seems pretty genuine to me...
It seems Sony has messed up this thing, nothing like that you got fake product...talk to Sony care regarding this confirming this from them or post on Sony Mobile forum, so that any support staff can look at it.
Hello xda members, i have been experiencing a problem on my tablet Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Android version 4.3 since the past month. It does not charge as usual and a red cross pops up on my battery icon indicating slow charge. I don't know if it's the adapter or usb cable which is causing this, but I tried a set of new charger and cable ( Sony brand ) and still I get the red cross.
What do you advise me to do?
Do i install an app from the store to check if my battery is causing this or do I need to try charging it with a new original adapter and usb cable?
Thank you and awaiting your reply.
The red cross only indicates that the tab is not recieving enough power and even if energy is coming in, it is not enough to charge while using. Understanding this, anything can be cause for the current not being enough:
The adapter could be damaged.
The adapter you are using is not the samsung one and thus is giving less Amperes(Out tab needs 2A and most adapters give 850A-1A).
The cable is damaged.
The cable you are using is not prepared to transport 2A.(This happens to me with the chromecast ones)
The microUSB port on the tablet is damaged. An indicator may be the tablet overheating like crazy when charging but this is not probably because when this happens the device, in most cases, takes energy or not.
I personally find that the cable, if you are using samsung's adapter, is most commonly the problem. Using a cheap cable or a damage cable causes this for most of the tabs I have known.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for replying mate, actually I'm using both original samsung adapter and cable which came in the box.. I will be heading to some shops looking for a Samsung cable and see whether it resolves the problem or not.. What is weird is that sometimes it has the red cross and sometimes it doesn't. Yesterday evening it was slow charging and this evening it was normal charging.

It happened to my brother, he changed cables and changed from light socket and he said he had no more problems; he also may have cleaned the usb that goes into the adapter; ol' "blowing nes carthige" style. I would recommend getting a Q-Tip with alcohol and cleaning every metal part you see in your cables, speacially the 4 metal bands inside the male and female usb port from the adapter and the cable(remember to let it dry before pluggin it again).
BTW, it must be a good cable but it is not necessary for it to be a samsung one. If you have a good phone around and can use that cable, it should be fine(I use a motorola defy one which had a 850mA adapter and it works marvelously; "meh" cellphone but the accesories are darn good), just dont use other adapters because of the Amperage difference.
Also, if you are using any kind of extensions, specially usb port extensions, don't. They are a sure culprit of the problem you are experiencing. I dont know why but these cheap electronics really affect the energy passing through; maybe its the cheap copper or bad solder.

Hi all,
I'd like to know that if your Note 8 charging port is too weak to be broken? Mine is changed for the second time and it's broken now. So the third time it will be replaced soon. It is so annoyed. I use it with extremely care, but I don't know if the charging port is too delicate.
Thanks for your reply anyway.
No it is not weak I have gone through 2 samsung oem cables and 2 aftermarket cables and 1 of 3 Sony Ericsson cables. The Sony cables are *****'n and I won't use anything else.
You can replace the usb daughter board easily. I thought my usb was killing cables and had removed my daughter board and noticed that the usb frame had been stressed by how the cable tugs on it. I press the top and bottom with my fingers to narrow the opening back to original. As the replacement was to gauge any physical differences.
I suggest not to use the tablet when it is pluged in to the usb charger. It will keep the plug and connector from failing.
My resent pi started acting up... Fast charging doesn't work at all only when wireless fast chargeing... Only cable charging and that is it some time cable seem to disconnect and connect by ore self and suggestion on what to do

I would suggest two things... Start with blowing out any dust/crud stuck in the charging jack on the bottom of the phone. If still not charging properly, replace your charging cable with a new Samsung cable meant for the phone. I'm not 100% sure on our Note 5, but previously it takes an original Samsung cable to be sure you get proper (and fast) charging. If you do both of those things and it still doesn't charge properly, there might be damage to the charger port.

This happened to my Note 5 as well. Using a new usb cord works temporarily, but always goes back to not being able to fast charge eventually.
The fix I did and works, use a small instrument (tweezers, knife, etc.) and carefully bend the usb pin up (towards the screen) a little bit. Fixed mine completely, now my Note 5 fast charges 100% of the time, links to my desktop, and whatever else I connect it too.
