Hi guys! I'm pretty new and it's awesome to be here.
My problem might be hidden and described in other threads, although I couldn't find any legitimate answers to my question. Maybe you could help out?
A few days ago I installed JB on my lovely oldie Samsung Galaxy Ace II through Odin, after KIES had not worked. The device slowed down its performance tremendously. I have already talked to some techie from Samsung team in my country (Denmark) and he mentioned that my device is not able to handle JB. Then I went on to search for some advise in other places but without success.
Do you know how to fix it without having to buy a new phone?
Thanks for help in advance!
Peace&love
this may not be expert advise, but yeah JB is laggy compared to KK. my phone came back from the dead just now. check out the ace ii dev subforum and pick a custom rom. even MM doesnt lag as much as stock JB
thanks mate!

I've got the Telus SGH-T989D, it's identical to the t-mobile version. Any rom I've tried that was made for the t-mob works fine on the telus.
CM is in the works, in fact early alpha ports have started popping up, ICS can't be far behind.
Tons of love out there for this phone, you seriously can't go wrong w/ this.

I'm new to all this rooting and I'm a bit cautious...
I've seen some posts say that when they rooted with the T-Mobile instructions, it made the 4G icon disappear... Was that the case for you?
What instructions did you use?

4G icon only disappears if you flash a T-Mobile custom ROM. BUT, if you use Juggernaut, you can change that in the ROM Control. Rooting will not affect your Telus ROM in any way.

I've still got the 4G icon, running Juggernaut 3.5.
I rooted my phone using [REF] ROOT via ZergRush Exploit Superoneclick v2.2 (confirmed working)

Thanks for the quick and informative reply. I've loved what I've read/watched from the Samsung Galaxy S II X but heard significant criticism about Samsung's OS updates and support. Took me a bit to find the thread showing early alpha of CM for T-mobile and just wanted to double check there'd be no hiccups with Telus' version. I'm quite excited to get this phone and see what it is capable of!

The manufacturer is always going to be slow bringing out updates... I know on my old Milestone, it was close to a year after Froyo came out that it finally got that update. This right here is one of the best reasons to use a custom rom... that, and you get rid of most of the garbage that the manufacturer and the carrier pre-installs.
Personally, I'm gonna stay with Juggernaut til CM gets a stable release.

This phone is the first Android phone I've used. Rooting and the like may seem daunting at first but the steps are pretty simple and well documented. Make sure you read the entire thread (yes, I read 150+ pages in the Juggernaut ROM thread before I even did anything), this will save you much grief.
I haven't had any problems in terms of bricking my phone or experiencing boot loops.
Also, there is no issue with using T-Mobile ROMs on our Telus phone. There may be some bloat that you don't want but it can be easily removed.
I would highly suggest rooting and installing a custom ROM. You'd be surprised to see how limited the stock ROM is compared to some of these customs.

Hello all,
I am having a problem with my Samsung galaxy s3 hdtv adapter and for the life of me cannot get it to work.I have tried almost everything I can think of and still no go(It freezes,Reboots sometimes). So I have come to the conclusion that it might be that my phone is rooted and has a flash custom rom(Omega Rom),And that could be what is causing this issue.
So before I take the leap into restoring my phone to stock which I really do not want to do,
If anyone has been in my situation or are in the know how could please tell me if there is a possible fix?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Chris.
Which carrier are you on? This the the sprint gs3 forum and we don't have 'omega' rom. You might want to look through the thread for that rom for help.
Just picked up my Note 2 today - Sam's Club is selling this weekend for $198.99 and the $36 new phone charge is refunded. Sealed the deal for me.
Anyway, all of the great resources I found with regard to rooting are for Android 4.1.1, Build JRxxx. My phone is Android 4.1.2, build JZ054K. Could you please point me to the appropriate resources for rooting this device?
Thank you.

I use QBKing77's method. Got my phone a couple weeks ago. Came with 4.1.1. Did the OTA to 4.1.2 then rooted. Also sent donation to the creator of the Galaxy Note II toolbox. Works great. Try that, bud.

As a senior member, and a basic Internet user, I know how to use Google. The op isn't even on sprint. The one who complained that I didn't Google it for him says they have tmobile on their profile.

HTSRyan,
Thanks for the helpful reply. Just to be clear (since I was not in my original post): Your Samsung Note 2 is on the Sprint network and its build is more-or-less the same as mine, i.e., JZ054K?
p.s. It is my intent to send a donation once I am rooted...
Please help
First of all please accept my apologies if I am posting in the incorrect site location - this isn't the most user friendly site I've ever come across, but it is definately helpful to to get help from you friendly and helpful people!
I've just purchased a Galaxy Note 2 (N7105 Vodafone Australia). I've managed to unlock, root and install TWRP perfectly.
My problem is that I've tried three different custom roms in the last few days and none of them seem to work properly with the s pen. The three roms I've tried are Cyanogen, Android Revolution and Omega (in that order). All three of these roms seem great, until I take out the s pen....
The only one of these three roms that will even recognise when the pen touches the screen is Cyanogen (which is the only of the three roms that don't come with the samsung s pen apps). Both Android Revolution and Omega came with the s pen apps pre-installed, but don't seem to work with the s pen at all?? Am I doing something wrong? Are there s pen drivers or something that I need to install? Omega is currently installed and it does vibrate and make a noise when I remove the pen from the dock, but does nothing when the pen touches the screen.
Another thing to note before anyone tries installing these roms on this device is that, after installing Android Revolution or Omega, the phone has no reception and says sim isn't installed. I managed to correct this by installing the modem driver on top of the rom - this took me a day or two to figure out it was the issue and how to fix!
I know its a pretty new phone and therefore there aren't many tried and tested roms, but the three I've tried are pretty common so I was expecting more information about them online than what I've found. I'm by no means an XDA Developer, but have rooted and flashed a few phones and roms in my time. Any assistance or advice in relation to getting the s pen to function on Omega v13 with my N7105 would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Hey all, I was just wondering if anyone had a quick tutorial on how to unroot a Canadian Telus SGH-I747 and return to stock? I'm not very knowledgeable with this sort of thing (I know, with this in mind I probably shouldn't have done anything in the first place, but...) I rooted mine a few months back at the suggestion of a friend, using the walkthrough posted this past June on the 'Honai of Android' blog, under 'How to Root Galaxy S3 (Canadian) SGH-I747M on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Firmware' (I can't post the link directly because I have too few posts). Anyway, I ended up really having little to no use for it and now I may be selling the phone anyway. Even if I don't, I'd prefer to return it to stock just so I can get regular updates, etc. I've looked around pretty extensively for a Canada/Telus-specific tutorial on how to do this, as everything I've found involves other carriers, or makes a point of warning international users, etc. so I'm a bit paranoid about screwing anything up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. :good:
hello i am new to all this but first off thanks for all the work you put in here ...you guys are f-ing nasty at what you do..I love it!!:good::good:
So i rooted my phone about a week ago. twrp recovery, magisk, played around flashing roms, been reading, doing research etc. After a week of about 8 hours a day of playing ( i am not working at this time):silly:.... i see i have not even scratched the surface of rooting, etc. Anyway, after researching here and online i have not found a custom rom for my device. I am looking for a lineageOS rom but would be happy with any one that is compatible with my phone. Am i missing something here? I see lots of other roms for other devices and none for mine.. I am Assuming my phone is not that popular and may be the reason? Idk if it is good to say this here on an android forum but i usually use iphones lol... BUT android is def more interesting to me . Now here i am addicted to rooting/androids, flashing, roms etc! So i got this phone sort of just for that and maybe not very popular as i said? Either way still could use a few more hours in the day to play lol. Soooooo my question, Any info for a custom rom that at i can use or anything other info to help as a newbie is greatly appreciated. Thanks again for all the great work, time, and creative thought process you put into all this here, (and wherever else you put all this cool [email protected]# together for us):good:
