Hi all,
I'm having some strange green screen issues with Galaxy Tab S 10.5, but I can't find any helpful answers.
When running stock Lollipop ROM, Youtube and MXPlayer videos display perfectly, but Twitch and Netflix have issues. For all video players, audio works perfectly.
Netflix shows a green screen for all movies/TV shows, and Twitch shows green screens for all quality levels except for Source.
I flashed CM12.1, 6.0.1, and CM13 for T800, but these problems persist.
Any and all advice is appreciated, thanks!
EDIT: I've tried Twitch alternatives: Vortex, Lakitu, and Ace for Twitch. Vortex gives me "This video cannot be played" for all qualities while Lakitu/Ace give me the same green screen issues. One solution I've found is to use the Twitch add-on from Kodi, but this doesn't let me see chat. Ideally, I'd like to get a standalone Twitch app working, but if all else fails, Kodi works.
You haven't said if this occurs with stock firmware?
Oops, sorry, I thought I mentioned this in OP. Twitch doesn't work in stock 5.02 either. Actually, that was what prompted me to try CM12/13 and 6.0.1.

Anyone else noticing this? I caught a few threads in the Xperia forums stating the same thing. I had no problems viewing HD content on my Legend, yet the screen resolution was smaller. Perhaps it's something to do with the new 720x1280 displays?
Confirm. It looks choppy for a sec, then it skips frames and jumps ahead to compensate, then it starts choppy again, repeat. Regardless full screen or not - looks like not because of 1280x720
Stream is fast and buffer is full, not network issue.
Not seeing it... have a link of a video that doesn't work for you all?
I don't have a link, but lookup FPSRussia and watch his SA-80 video. That should give you an idea.
Edit: Gave it a go in Dolphin HD and the video plays without any form of stutter. Must be a crappy version of YouTube for these phones.
Happening for me sometimes. I can use the desktop version of YouTube and everything runs fine. Even if I watch a movie I recorded at 1080p and play it back in the video player, it's sometimes choppy.

I can't get YouTube to play HD, it seems to only play 480p.
not trying to revive a dead topic , but i have the same issue on Bell lg optimus LTE , i have tried deleting youtube and resinstall from the market. everything works fine 1080p etc on mx video player . maybe the youtube player has not been optimized for P930 ? if anyone has a solution to this, please reply !
Most likely it's just Youtube being broken or not optimized for the HD screen on this phone. I also have the same issue, and I even tried Screen Optimization. I feel that works a bit, but very little bit hehe.
I went ahead and uninstalled the update from the Android Market in Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Downloaded > Youtube. It went back to version 2.1.6 from 2.3.4 so I restarted the phone and gave it a go. It seems to perform a hell of a lot better, still not perfect but at least it doesn't drive me crazy.
Give it a go and see for yourself, you could always update it again on the market.

I'll stick with Dolphin HD for viewing the YouTube content, seeing that i use Dolphin for viewing websites other than YouTube.
Hi guys, after updating Youtube to version 5.3.32, every single video played in youtube is pixelated, as if there is no video acceleration or post processing - please check the attached image
I have the Note 10.1 2014 P601, the Exynos version with 3G.
I tried to uninstall the youtube update and rollback to the factory installed youtube, and it works ok!
Anyone has this issue? and any ideas to fix it?
I have 5.3.32 and its fine however it does sometimes have a hissy fit, sometimes HD videos seem lower quality even though wifi bandwith is excellent.
And I also had an issue where it didnt even want to load videos but havent encountered that problem for weeks now. Tbh I just dont think the Youtube app has been properly intigrated with our tablet.

Hello all,
I've noticed that using the Chrome browser on my new Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1, when I try to play an embedded YouTube video, it will play just fine, both audio and video. However, when I click the button to maximize it and go full screen, the playback stutters and does not display an image/video playback; it just goes black (occasionally, even plays the audio, but no accompanying video). When I click the back button, wanting to give it another try, the embedded video says "video playback is not available at this time" or something like that. I refresh the page, and play the game again/try again...same results.
I tested if it was screen orientation. Interestingly enough, the videos that would not play in landscape (which is the "default" orientation) would play in portrait, but would have some crazy, intermittent vertical lines reminiscent of a scrambled/jumbled picture. It's awful.
I'm wondering if anybody else has experienced this issue and may have any helpful advice?
Thanks in advance,
senate

Having the same problem, anyone else experiencing this and knows how to make the problem go away? On youtube there is also a vid showing the problem, can't post it but you can find it under this title: Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 sm-t520 video problem
I keep getting that kind of issue when I have Xposed installed. Try uninstalling xposed to see if that clears up the issue.

Dont have xposed installed, don't know what kind of program that is? The problem doesn't occur all the time. Btw the pro 10.1 has more bugs and random crashes, wish sammy would release a firmware update...
Samsung galaxy Tab pro 8", 10.1" or 12.2" video flickering problem [SOLVED]
To fix flickering in video:
Enable developer options in settings (go to about device and tap Build Number 7+ times).
In developer options, under hardware-accelerated rendering, check "turn off hardware overlays". You can also check "force GPU rendering", but I've found the former is all that's necessary.
Hello,
Can anyone help me. I bought a new amazon fire tv and intalled kodi and use it on my Panasonic plasma 55vt50. All online streaming movies look great, but my own mkv files 1080p 24h movies and series not. When camera movement the screen stutters. I bought a little black box before and had the same issues. Below my problem ( my old boxee box plays everything fine)
This is the tllb which gives the same result as the fire tv

This is the boxee

Look at the irritating shocking screen from the lamps at the little black box.
Anyone got an idea what to do?
Thank you kind regard Robin
Android is "stuck" at 60fps, so you're probably noticing that... No solution that I know of...
Possibly try SPMC 13.4.0. It's based on Gotham but I found it to the smoothest playback. I had all sorts of stuttering issues with Kodi Helix 14.
It won't fully solve it, but it's far less noticeable imo and you get used to it.
Turn off all smooth motion settings on the t.v. That helped mine tremendously

I made some observations in this post. See if some suggestions help you there.
@robinthart
While playing 1080 MKV files I made from my Blurays using BD-Rebuilder, I had an issue where it wasn't buffering, but after a while the video/movie became choppy... Worse than your video.
I read somewhere to go Settings -> Video -> Playback -> select Sync Playback to Display, then set A/V Sync Method... to Video Clock (resample audio). After doing that, I haven't had an issue.
And I needed to do it for SPMC 13.3.3, 13.4.0 and Kodi 14.0
I recently flashed a pacman rom on my tab s sm-t705 and whenever I record video, it always come out green with sound. Don't know why this is happening, but photos come out fine.
Someone please help
Even playing videos from SD card come out green. I don't know if I haven't installed a video codec or something when I installed this pacman rom that has cyanogen mod. Even YouTube videos comes out green. But pictures are fine
someone
I have found the answer!!! The pacman rom didn't have video decoders so download the MXplayer app from the play store. Go into the MXplayer settings, decoder and select use HW+ decoder and SW decoder. It worked for me and hopefully it works for you guys with the same problem
