Wi-Fi won´t auto connect unless I turn on the screen - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everybody.
I´ve recently updated my lg g3 D855 to the greek official .kdz 6.0, and now I notice that, for example, when I arrive to my home, the phone does not connect automatically to my wi-fi.
It does connect itself only when I turn on the screen (it doesn´t require to unlock whith the pattern), just to turn on the screen.
I tested in severall places and it´s always the same.
(The wi-fi configuration is allright, set to Always ON)
Is it normal? Perhaps Marshmallow works this way?
It is a big problem to me, cause in my home the 3G signal is very poor, so I frequently might be off-line unless I remember to turn on the screen for a few seconds to make it connect to my wi-fi.
Thank you in advance.
pd. sorry for my bad english, it´s not my language.

Ranju_v76_WM61_19209_19209_1_0_2 phone off problem

Hi board !
a view weeks ago I had to reinstall my Universal and used Ranju_v76_WM61_19209_19209_1_0_2 (actually my first WM6) but I am running into several problems:
1) the phone-part of the device is often turning off itself. I mean, I have to go to wireless manager then and turn it on again. The main problem is, that often I do not realize that and I even do not realize that people can not call me.
2) Often, when I receive a call and the screen is turned off, the screen turns on, but i takes about half a minute, till the phone starts to ring (I can´t even pick up then by using the hardware button, the device is like freezes).
Does anyone have similar problems or knows solutions for this strange behaviour of the device ?
Thanks in advance,
Otto
your questions about this ROM, I think it's better to do here:

In addition, if you read the post, it is likely that your problem has already been exposed and resolved.
Greetings.

WiFi connection settings become messed after some successful connections (Workaround)

As some TP2 or other WM device owners I've noticed that WM often seems to forget WPA passwords when using WiFi. It doesn't really matter wether you use AES or TKIP and how long your preshared key is.
In my case the symptoms look like this: After I create a WiFi connection (WPA2, AES, hidden) so that my Rhodium can use my home WiFi network, everything goes just fine. But then, after having established a connection for two or three times the troubles begin. Usually it takes about 3 or 4 seconds to establish a connection. But suddenly it takes about 10 seconds after which I get a warning that the connection could not be established. If I then go to my connection settings, I allways find them completely messed up, so that I have to select WPA2 and AES and reenter my password an so on. Well, after it happends to you for three or four times, this becomes extremely annoying.
Recently, however, I've found a kind of workaround for this problem. And here it comes: After I turn on the WiFi, I simpy wait for about four seconds. If WinMo behaves nicely, 4 seconds are pretty enough to establish a connection. If, however, I don't get connected after these 4 seconds, I IMMEDIATELY turn WiFi off, wait 2 seconds, and turn it on again. With 99% probability this second try gives me a working connection. If it doesn't, I simpy repeat the same procedure once again. So, the scheme is quite simpe:
Turn WiFi on and wait 4-5 seconds (it depends). Got connected?
Yes: O.K
No: Turn WiFi off, wait a second and turn it on again.
The main thing about this trick is not to let WinMo try to establish a connection for more than 5 or 6 seconds, otherwise it will delete your connection settings.
In my case, this workaround works perfectly. For more than two weeks I've been using my home WiFi with Touch Pro 2, establishing at least 4 or 5 connections a day and not a single time my connection settings were lost. Well, surely this thing with turning WiFi on and waiting and turning it off if you don't get connected fast enough is also a little bit annoying, but nevertheless it is much less annoying then having your connection settings all messed up every single day.
I'm not sure, whether this workaround will work with other devices or WinMo versions or even firmware versions, but may be it will help at least some of you affected by this odd problem. So you may just give it a try.
I'm using Touch Pro 2 with stock O2 Germany ROM (1.19.207.0)
Thanks for reading this long post and sorry for my bad English.
Excellent! Thank you for sharing your workaround!
I do something similar, except I turn wifi off by pressing the power button if the wifi hasn't connected in a few seconds. (By default wifi turns off when it goes into standby.)
On the odd occasions where the key does need to be entered again, I keep a copy of the wifi key "somewhere" on the device. It's a copy and paste operation after that, so it doesn't take long to re-enter the key. Luckily you can use the keyboard Ctrl-V method to paste the wifi key into the TouchFLO interface.
The other observation I've made, is that if I switch on the device by sliding out the keyboard, my Touch Pro 2 has a higher chance on getting a 'lock' onto a weak wifi signal. I'm not really sure why!
I'm glad that this workaround works not only for me
Actually, I don't use Connection Manager any more, for I've recently installed Rhodium Keyboard Controller GSM 1.3.2. Using this handy tool I remapped my Home button, so that double clicking it, turns WiFi on and and double clicking it with working WiFi turns wireless off.
I guess that Rhodium Keyboard Controller uses some advanced routine to activate WiFi, because since I use it for establishing WiFi connections, I rarely have to use my workaround, for normally I get connected on the first attempt.

[Q] Shutdown issue (but not the overnight one!)

Hi,
I've been reading the other shutdown issue with interest from the start but I think that my particular issue is different and I'd like to know whether anyone else has my exact problem.
I'm using the o2 UK 16GB version 10A/234 and this is the problem:
When I reboot the phone and it gets to the lockscreen, if the network status is "disabled" on the lockscreen and I swipe to open, the phone shutsdown and can't be started again until I remove the battery.
If I wait for a couple of seconds when the lockscreen comes up, there is a little lag but the phone works as normal.
I can replicate this issue over and over again, so it is not a random occurrence AND this is the second handset that I have had where this exact problem is present.
Does anyone else have this issue?

I'm facing the same issue. Is your device rooted?
At first every (re)boot without being connected via usb to a charger or a computer would result in a shutdown shortly after I enter my pin. After a day of usage I cannot reproduce it anymore, although it still happens from time to time, for example yesterday when I tried to send a text while having very bad to no reception. When it happens I also have to remove the battery or hook it up to a charger, otherwise the buttons/screen would not respond..
I'm thinking there is a (firmware) problem with the chipset since it always happens when my phone is trying/strugling to connect to the mobile network. I installed an app which constantly writes logs to my sd, hopefully that will give me more information about what's causing the problem..
Are you also having bad reception when the device shuts down? My previous device (iPhone 5s) had normal reception in my house, incl. a stable 3G connection, always 2-3 bars of 5. The LG G3 is constantly strugling with the connection to the network and often switches to "emergency calls only"..

This happens rooted non-rooted, stock (no added apps) and always whilst connecting to phone network. Are you on same variant as me and if you leave it for a moment before putting in your pin does it then work ok?. I'm trying to get o2 to change my handset for another model (m8) but they just want to fix my one.

Yes I'm on the same variant. Still running the 10A firmware.
Sometimes it works, but I will do some more test this evening after work and see if I can reproduce it every time and hopefully get some usable logging too.
I think this is fixed in the 10f firmware update that I installed yesterday. I haven't had a shutdown since :victory:

F400L Wired Wifi problem!

The problem is that the wifi doesn't turn on at all but the bluetooth work normal. The phone come with firmware from F400s (SK telecom) and the wifi had some problem from the beginning. It had one period that the wifi work normal after first charging the full battery and after 75% start turn on/off by itself.I changed tried with different roms but the situation stay the same. Most of the time the wifi problem caused phone to reboot too. After couple of changes of the roms the wifi stop turning on at all. Now I am with the stock rom of the F400L. Any one with idea?

lg g3 strange wifi problem, phone restarts (bluetooth working fine)

Hi!
So, if I turn on wi-fi, the phone restarts after 1-2 mins.
I already baked my motherboard, tried 3 different roms (including stock rom), but still no success. Bluetooth is working fine, even with bluetooth mouse or continuous data transfer. Wifi also work, internet speed is fine, but it suddenly restarts after 1-2 min.
Any solution?
(Sorry for my bad english )
