I installed that Boot Manager Pro to install a second rom on my sd card (Jellybean) and when i went to reboot my phone into that rom it was stuck at the Google screen for 10 minutes or so. I did a battery pull and it still won't boot up!
If I go to my recovery I can't scroll through to get to recovery with my volume buttons. It just says Start at the top, has the green android guy and says "Downloading... Do not turn off target!!" at the bottom.
Can someone please help me?!?!
That's odin mode.
Turn off (battery pull).
Power + Volume up + Volume down.
You're only hitting volume down.
I am such an idiot! I am used to my old HTC device where it was just volume down to access recovery. I did know it was both but while I was worried I screwed up my phone I didn't even think about what I was doing! I appreciate the help, I am restoring my backup now.
I have registered my account to ask this question. I have been flashing roms since I bought desire a month ago. But this time I flashed the chinese version of MIUI rom from their official website. They didn't even mentioned on their site that this is Chinese and official version of the rom.
My question is, how can I connect my USB cable to connect to the computer and then copy some other rom to my memory card. ( I don't have memory card reader/adapter). I tried to connect it but it's showing charging icon on the status bar, I then tap on that icon and there were some on/off options I tried to change them in both states but the device is still not connecting to the computer in USB mode. I am bit afraid because I am experiencing this strange problem that I haven't found fix on the net.
P.S: Sorry for my English and please reply urgently I can't even use my phone with this chinese version.
Why don't you just go to recovery (just power off phone and then while holding volume down press and hold power) and mount sdcard from there?

I have to connect my phone with pc, so I can put another rom on the sd card and then flash it. Is it possible to do this via recovery? If yes please guide me how do this.
Thanks
Yes, it is possible... Like i said, turn off your phone (if you're not sure how take the battery out and put it back again), then while holding the volume down button on the side of the phone press and hold power button... Phone should turn on, screen should be white with phone info on the top and Norad skating at the bottom of the screen - this is called bootloader... After several seconds some check-ups should be done and you should be able to move through menu by pressing volume up and down... Navigate to recovery and press power button to select it... Now the screen should change and you should be taken to recovery whichever you have installed... From there you can either restore a nandroid backup if you previously made it or toggle usb/mount usb or whatever it says and while in that menu connecting phone you should be able to access sdcard... if there is something you can't follow ask...

Thank you so much, I use the option Mount USB storage and put my rom on the card and I have finally come back to some English rom. Thanks it worked.
I wiped my phone and tried rebooting it to recognize my microsd card after wiping the phone and putting the ROM I wanted on the microsd card.
Now it is stuck on the HTC logo white screen and I have tried adb commands and nothing works and I have tried the light trick on the front camera (like on the m7) and that didnt work. I have pressed the power + vol down for a while now and nothing is working. what should I do?
edit: Right after I posted this I pressed the vol up and down button with the power button and it worked... I dont get it. anyways thanks!
You must hold volume up + power to reboot and then volume down to enter bootloader.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using xda app-developers app
Happened to me yesterday. I was trying to install a recovery and the recovery never installed properly. So when I tried to boot to recovery, it just showed the box with the the red triangle.
The phone wouldn't restart or anything. Pressing and holding the power didn't work. No adb either. I was afraid that I would have to wait for ~70% battery to drain. LoL!!
But holding power eventually worked like 5 minutes later. *whew*
hold volume up + power to reboot and then volume down to enter boot loader.
If you have flashed a rom and your tablet "soft bricks", i.e. it gets stuck at the Samsung splash screen or boot loops Recovery there is an easy way to recover without having to reflash the original firmware in ODIN (assuming you were smart and made a NANDROID backup before flashing your rom).
TURNING THE DARNED THING OFF:
Here's the problem. If you are at the Samsung splash screen or boot looping Recovery, you cannot turn your tablet off by just pressing the power button and you can't pull the battery. This prevents you from getting back into Recovery and restoring your NANDROID backup. So here is what you do:
1) Plug your tablet into your computer (this is important!).
2) Hold down the home, volume down and power buttons until you boot into download mode. Once you are prompted, push the volume up button to enter download mode completely.
3) Now, once in download mode, hold down the power and volume down buttons (not the home button this time) until you screen goes blank (your tablet MUST be plugged into your computer for this to work!). Release the buttons and you will see the battery symbol on your screen. Your tablet is now off - thank god.
4) To enter Recovery mode, hold the home, volume up and power buttons down until Recovery loads.
5) Restore your NANDROID backup.
Disaster averted.

Only works if the tablet is off. The key part of this little tutorial is just turning the tablet off when you are stuck in a loop. Once you are off you're golden.
I panicked yesterday because i can't exit download mode with a simple hold of the power key,

Hope this helped.
Thanks.
Lots of new roms. Make sure you check those firmware numbers before flashing folks!
When I was stuck on the Samsung logo for 20 minutes after installing this (beta version) rom a week or so back I did this:
1. Held down the Home, Power, Volume up and down buttons for about 10 seconds, not sure if you need all of them held down, but it seems it force restarts the tablet.
2. After the screen went black I immediately held down the Home, Power, and Volume down buttons to enter into download mode.
3. Flashed the latest XAR stock rom from SamMobile.
If anyone is testing a new kernel keep an eye on those temps. An app called CPUTemp has excellent monitoring. You want to be staying under 100c even when benchmarking.
Almost there but
I did everything you said but when i press the recovery combo nothing happens. It is as if there is no recovery!!!
Help plz.I am furstrated and angry!!!

Ok that all worked fine, but now that I got it turned off I can't get it to go any further than the charging icon is there a way to push files to it while it off? any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated
Same here. Can get into download mode but can't get into recovery. I've TWRP.
Ok made it into recovery.
Update:
I've now wiped Cache and Dalvik Cache and after rebooting it now says Android is upgrading / Starting apps.
Is this a good or a bad sign?

Thanks a lot. I just registered at xda developers in order to be able to reply and thank you. You saved my tabS 8.4 two weeks ago. However, I lost this thread since that time and I just found it again today after almost 2 hours of google searching. All that to show my appreciation for helping me to switch off my tablet having been stuck at the booting loop.
I would send you money if I knew how. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I had this problem with a Samsung Tab S I got at Costco, and returned it for a new one. That was about a year ago, and I was sure I would have to take it back again. You are uberawesome!
Kindly help me if u can ^_^

You have a couple of options.
1) Do as the guide says. It usually works.
2) If it didn't work, unplug your device and wait until it discharges the battery and goes off. Then charge it from USB, and turn it on with holding down Home+VolumeDown+Power buttons until DOwnload mode appears. Then press VolumeUp, and flash it from ODIN.
Hi every one, i ****ed up my phone. i am much new to android phones and dont know anything about development. 1 week ago i got a second hand phone from a friend. i dont know whether it was rooted, unlocked etc. but Teamwin was installed on it. i came to know this when i factory reset that phone.
then i received a notification to update it to marshmellow. i downloaded the update and restart the phone to install this. team win opened. i dont know what exactly i did but i wiped everything on fastboot including system, internal storage, cache etc
now my mobile is stuck to white sreen with htc logo. it does not shut down only restarts when i press volume up and power button.
when battery is finished, i plug the charger it momentarily shows teamwin but with lock on it. means i cant access teamwin on it.
plzzzzzz help me what to do??
thanks in advance.
Whats your device id A5_ dig or dwg...????
as soon as it goes black screen from vol up+power switch to vol down+power and hold until it goes to hboot.
then you can go to recovery to install a rom (put it on an external sd card and insert into the phone before choosing recovery)
if you don't have external sd, plug it into pc to power on, you should be able to get to internal storage on pc to move rom .zip to the phone.
