I have noticed that in the absence of Cm and AOSP based ROM development there doesn't seem to be a huge difference in many of the ROM developed here.....
Has anyone any input on the best Rom for AT&T or the ROM that atleast mentions AT&T? I'm not sure that it really matters but it seems that most of the development mentions various carriers but almost never mentions AT&T

You're not going to find one as AT&T isn't carrying the phone. The US unlocked is it.
I've been using LeeDroid on AT&T and it's worked well so far. I'm gong to give Venom a shot when they put out the full rom with systemless root

Probably the best rom for ATT is going to be BadBoyz as it is based on the US unlocked rom. With any of the roms based on WWE (401) I don't think call forwarding or VOLTE works right now.

You may be very right --- in the last 24 hrs I have done fresh installs of both LD and Viper and both were acting strangely -- with the LD install most recently this AM having my phone go to H+ and wouldn't go back to LTE for some reason
May have to go to BadBoyz

I'm not sure about the LTE issue. You should definitely get LTE on the international roms.

I've been on LeeDROID as well.. no issues. The 4G+ icon is enabled by default for LTE. You can go into the tweaks app and change it. Apparently the international market uses the 4G icon for LTE but rest assured the LTE is working. [emoji106]

If you are planning on using Viper10, make sure you select US Unlocked during Aroma.
I've had LTE signal all the time and VoLTE also works fine on AT&T.

i have tried all the roms here. ice rom was great and i think it gave me the best battery life. leedroid was good also. badboys was also a good rom. but im a viper fan and cant live without the tweaks they offer. i never really had a problem with any of them. they are all solid.

This is common because the signal mapping rules are different from EU and US builds. You have to make some changes to the customize/ACC/default.xml to get the proper signal mapping.
It shouldn't actually be HSPDA even though the it's saying it is. Your phone has the proper firmware and radio so it's processing the network properly but displaying it differently as the rules tell it how to interpret the signal.

Yeah it's been a comedy of errors for me in the last 48
I started out with LD ROM and then dirty flashed Viper when I first got the phone. Almost immediately noticed some marginal reception issues so I flashed the latest firmware. Stayed on dirty flashes
Then yesterday got my extSD reformatted took exFat so decided to try some clean flashes
Kinda had issues with reception after that..... Flashing the latest builds of LD and Viper. I saw some T-Mobile user post an LTE speed of 50mb down while I was struggling to get 1 or 2 at the most. Then had issues of phone switching to H+ and wouldn't go to LTE. Took an hour to update google maps!
Then today installed Elemental kernel and put the script in the su folder and lost signal all together.... Apparently a known issue on LD
Just been a strange couple days

Attached is the stock system/customize/ from the 1.53.617.5 build. You can flash this in recovery and it should fix all that. Just in case, make a backup of your system/customize folder (create a copy of the zip, replace my version with your stock and rename the zip, then you'll have a test zip and an OEM zip just in case).

I let out one other thing
In an effort to fix my list signal ( that was due to my ghost pepper script not being done properly _ I had not followed the OP correctly and the permissive script wasn't executing), I tried to change Fast Dormancy switching using LD Tweaks and my device just locked up. Wonder if this is all part of the same thing, or is all due to the scripting issue?
Which Rom are you running with US device?

FastDormancy is a build.prop setting. The problem for you is the euro builds don't have the proper provisioning XMLs and .prop's to properly work on the US networks.

Stock 1.53.617.5. I already cleaned out the logging and chunda from the ROM. The only change I'll make is a deodex version when I get time to deodex the base ROM. None of the custom ROMs currently add any value IMO for US. Don't get me wrong, doesn't mean they're bad, but we have only 1 US custom ROM (BadBoyz) and it's not what I'd run.

I would tend to agree --- for some reason the little thing that I enjoy the most is the ability to alter Quick Settings tiles and more specifically I really like have a GPS (On and Off) switch in the quick settings. I even tried xposed and GravityBox for a brief period of time since none of the Custom Roms really offer allow the Quick Settings alteration like I'd like (except maybe ? Viper).
How did you "clean out the logging and chunda" from your base ROM? and is there a flashable zip for the stock ROM yet?? I'm not trying to get spoon fed -- I'm just curious , because I almost always learn something when I ask about methods , like this
Thanks

I use TWRP to go into the system folder and delete:
app/Smith
app/QXDM2SD
app/instagram-stub
app/messenger-stub
app/CalendarGoogle (google app)
app/Chrome (google app)
app/Drive (google app)
app/facebook-stub
app/gmail (google app)
app/Music2 (google app)
app/PlayAutoInstallConfig-stub
app/HTCLogLevel
app/Videos (google app)
Priv-app/Photos (google app)
Priv-app/DemoFLOPackageInstaller
Priv-app/NeroHTCInstaller
Priv-app/Plurk
Priv-app/AndroidHtcSync
Then I reinstall the google apps I want from the playstore for a cleaner install to data instead of system. With an ODEX system it's a bit messy IMO with updates.
I'm not concerned with OTA updates so I'm not worried about modifying the system folders. We'll get updates from the community anyway so it's ok to clean these out.

Yes. My M919V from Wind (using it on Virgin) got an update this morning. MDC to MDJ now. The firmwares posted on samfirmware are the newer ones that includes today's 18 Mb update.
I didn't notice any difference as of yet. The description only read "Stability Improvements".
Me too I got update on videtron .
Guys now that you have open this topic it will nice to have real guide for our version for Rooting andvalso listing whic recovery and Rom work on Videtron / wind version.

Root
Is there any root for our version?
I had my S4 crash on me once so I'm assuming the update fixed that. I'm not sure what caused the crash but it reminded me of the crashes I'd get with AOSP roms on my S3 which shocked me. So far no crash though. TBF, I think that the roots for the TMO work for us as well, however I haven't tried yet either as I'm also waiting for confirmation hehe. :good:
BTW has anyone gotten the unlock for the M919's to work on M919V's? When I dial the code in, it doesnt want to accept it.

I suppose I'll get things rolling a little bit.
1) Root
The motochopper method works. Tested it myself. Even on the newest M919VVLUAMDJ.

2) Sim Unlock
Again tested by me, works flawlessly even after flashing stock rom again.

3) Recovery
Not tested by me, but others have had success installing TWRP.
Link here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2263947
4) Stock
I flashed stock ROM with Odin after rooting to return back to stock. Everything is just how it is supposed to be.
Let's get going!
Thanks dj_aj, for root we don't need to go back to old firmware ?
I can confirmed I followed yesterday the method posted in the main Galaxy S4 Genreal forum(not T-mobile one) by looking at your links it look like same steps, and my videotron is unlocked I tried Telus sim of a friend it is working http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2282683
For me the only important reason why I want to root and install a custom ROM is to have Pdroid as Apps now days ask for crazy permissions and I want to block that. Is there any Stock Base ROM that include Pdroid or OpenPdroid ? Because otherwise my phone is ultra fast and smooth no need of crazy flashing like I use to do before with my LG lol

Could you elaborate on how much the battery life has really tanked? Is it down to just a few hours? And how less is it compared to the previous times?
I ask only because even though I initially thought that my battery was draining much quickly on this new firmware, it isn't really so. I'm getting about the same battery life.
Also, at this moment there is no way to downgrade to the previous firmware. The reason being the only stock firmware available to be flashed is the latest one.

You are welcome and no, I did not install any ROMs or custom recoveries. I like the stock touchwiz roms and generally only root to get rid of bloatware & do some minor tweaks.
I assume that all custom roms for the t-mobile sgh-m919 should work on our sgh-m919v variants. But, I have no expertise in this area & if anybody knows more can correct me.
I've updated the main post with links people have posted on here just for good reference. I hope that's okay with the original posters.
Just to confirm that i just rooted my videotron S4 with the link in OP . No need to roll back firmware worked perfectly with latest . Dont forget to turn on unlocked screen as you will be asked to allow root on your phone.

So I dont think its the firmware. Forgive the noobiness. Here's what happened: for two weeks since I bought the phone I have been following the same usage pattern every weekday - full charge with phone off at night, turn on at 8am, an hour of radio streaming and some browsing, gmail syncing sms and sporadic short browsing, repeat hour of streaming/browsing on commute home, some browsing on wifi in the evening. I have all smart features disabled and only syncing my gmail and calendar all in the effort to conserve bbattery.NEway this process would take my battery to about 20% by 11pm. Then last week for 2 consecutive days my battery life plummeted during the day to the point where it was 100% drained by 6pm. I didnt consider whether I had done anything differently on those days but now I know. I tried to send pictures through gmail over the network. With each pic weighing I at approx 3mb gmail was working to send them for hours while draining my battery. It just so happened that this took plafe the day after I installed the upgrade. Lesson here for me is wait for wifi to email pics taken by the fantastic camera on this phone.e

1. Make sure you do a wipe if coming from another rom
2. Flash in recovery
3. If recovery tells you something about the rom wanting to flash a recovery and asks if you want to disable it select NO. that file is needed for supersu to initialize on boot if you disable it you will not have root access

As this is a stock rom.. Nothing will be added.. No big reports taken.. this is how it came right from google with the exception of root and busybox being installed and the kernel module to disable write protection on the system

Gee thanks for the help. I would have never thought to Google something like that.... There's a whole lot of specifics on how to go about it with this particular Rom on this carrier. Seriously appreciate the generosity of your time.
No worries, got it figured out no problem, I'll have this available for all roms I release specific to the Tmo variant on the M8.
FYI, there's a few more steps involved to get everything T-Mobile related (apk wise) working on this or any of the builds aside from Viper.

If you want the newest version of Color OS v2, you'll have to use the x9007 version. It does have English as an option and all the menu items are in English. However, there are a lot of Chinese apps pre-installed on the phone as well now. It's probably best only to use this if you want a lot better performance, but don't run anything mission critical on your Find 7a.
Here is the ROM: http://pan.baidu.com/s/1gdHxnZd to be flashed only with Oppo Recovery.
You will need the latest version of Google Apps for 4.3, here. Which has to be installed with TWRP.
I did re-root my phone using the standard root afterwards (from the TWRP recovery) and all went well! Titanium Backup still doesn't restore, but Nandroid Manager does, if you need your text messages and WiFi hotspot settings back. Simply backup with TWRP first, then you can restore them!
Have fun!
Ok, but what is with LTE (4G), ?? The X9007 has other frequencies then the X9006. The 9007 has no Band 20 (800Mhz)

Hmm. The X9006 is the US variant of this phone. Unfortunately, the US version of the Find 7a isn't getting ColorOS updates as quickly. All we are doing is using the newer iterations of ColorOS, which have no problem addressing the X9006 hardware. Does that answer the question?

Hmm, hmm those mirrors do not have that same firmware. The one is find7rom_12_ota_011_all_r0001_wipe.zip
I'm currently downloading it from baidu but it's slow...

I've just made the switch, and right now I'm really, really happy with it. Other then the first startup, where EVERYTHING is Chinese, and the lack of alphabetically sorting apps on the default launcher, things are working perfectly. Battery life and performance are easily the best this phone has had thus far with this rom.
IMO, this is exactly how Oppo should have shipped the phone in the first place, albeit with Google Apps and the plethora of stuff us NA users like.
I can post a GDrive mirror asap, and exactly how I transitioned from the International Beta to Chinese Beta. Done.
~EDIT~
Link to the ROM: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzFsQizh49FUVkM3QTk2V0tkNzg/edit?usp=sharing (This will only work with THE DEFAULT RECOVERY. Custom recoveries WILL NOT WORK. I have tried converting this package to one that will work with custom recoveries, but it didn't completely work. If anyone can help with this, that'd be appreciated.)
Link to the Root Package (Same as the default root package, just putting it in here for ease of use): https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzFsQizh49FUcEE1ZDFBUHFuUFk/edit?usp=sharing (This will only work with THE DEFAULT RECOVERY.)
Link to the GApps Package that I have confirmed working, though I'm sure everything else will work too: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzFsQizh49FURi1VQmY1UlBzVEE/edit?usp=sharing (This will only work with CUSTOM RECOVERIES. The stock recovery WILL NOT WORK)
Link to the Original, Stock ROM: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzFsQizh49FUbTN1SHNEU0h1SU0/edit?usp=sharing (Again, will only work with the default recovery. You won't need this to flash the Chinese beta, but it might be good to have on hand in case the Chinese Beta fails or something. [I just like to have a backup plan] )
Thanks for the great summary. Works great!
Anyone got release notes for 2.0.11? I can't seem to translate them from the Oppo site.
So does this beta(chinese beta) have 4g lte support?

I would also check and make sure that your APNs are properly in place. I know that they automatically got installed on mine, but since I am not in the US I cannot say the same for you.

The apn is the first thing I checked and it's perfectly fine, but I'm yet to flash the modem so I will update when I do so!

x9007 was only a link to the x9006 dir, i removed it so please do this also.
I do this because X9006 and X9007 are similar and i would provide a international firmware mirror. Because X9006 (Find 7a( and X9076 (Find 7) would get merged i create a new dir: http://mirror.lucky.li/android/oppo/x90x6/ and x9006/x9076 are just links.
Also if i would mirror some X9007/X9077 files in future you would found it there: http://mirror.lucky.li/android/oppo/x90x6/firmware/cn/
This is the new x9007/firmware or x9077/firmware directory but to keep it clean without links. Maybe in future i will also delete x9006/x9076 links and only keep x90x6.
What I've found out about this Chinese ColorOS:
- Google Apps are gone - you can't even flash them via the original recovery
- Swype Full is gone - International ColorOS had it preinstalled completely free
- App drawer is gone - all app icons are being put on the homescreens
- You can't flash back to international ColorOS via the original recovery - 'Installation failed'
---> Solved this by installing it via System Update app (tested with Chinese ColorOS 2.0.14 -> ColorOS 1.2.1i)
+ Camera app - manual ISO control has been added, but track-focus seems not to work.
+ OTA is working
I've been using Moto and samsung phones for a long time. I've become very familiar with sammys odin and loaded and modified many roms.
I just got the LG G3 851 (TMO) phone and have it running on cricket wireless. Did some research and have some questions if you can help out.
1)Can i flash 855 (international) roms?
2)No official Cyanogen roms but a couple CM based ones seem to be out there. Anyone use it as a daily driver? Known major issues? camera, wifi, sd card?
thanks

I just came to my first LG about a week ago after HTC EVO series, then S3, Note 3 and 4. Right now, I would recommend stock rooted, with SkyDragon kernel untouched. I froze about 67 elements, use xposed with gravity box, greenify, and a few other modules. On T-mo 10r, and tried several AOSP/CM/PA based, as well as a modified stock. It seems to me that until the official 5.02 official image is released, we are stuck with new problems with lolli, and old problems with old stock based. Best to setup what ya got the way you like it for now. Don't know if this is applicable to you on cricket, just sharing my experience/opinion. Good thing is that even full stock LG is around 700Mb smaller than Touchwiz. Just had to deal with locked bootloader for the first time in a while. Good luck!:good:

thanks, good advice. My phone came with illusion and its quirky but fast on Lolli. I'm glad recovery was already on it so i didn't have to go through your unlocking.

Firmware is not compatible. You will brick your phone.

All the G3 variants have slightly different internals, so no, flashing anything that specifically doesn't say it will work for 851 is very bad and will give you a pretty new paper weight. The cyanogen site should have 851 on it to download.

Never used Trickstermod, so I can't tell you how it works on the G3. I know it's not on their official support list, but that doesn't mean it won't work either. No reason you can't install busybox if you are rooted.

Yes. Make sure you do a full backup (make sure your backup has EFS) Then you can also just flash back to your backup.

Flash SkyDragon kernel, and use paid trickster, set according to OP kernel forum. I have 67 elements frozen via Titanium, use greenify, and SkyDragon on stock rooted. Get 30-64 hours depending. YMMV :good:
I've been stuck on the verizon s3 for a couple of years and I finally bought a new phone. Naturally I had to get the developers edition of the HTC One m9. So I am wondering if their is a specific forum for our phones? Or do I just flash a rom according to whatever SIM card I'm using that day?
Also even though it was purchased as a developers edition, can flashing the wrong kernal get me stuck with a locked bootloader again?

Your in the right forums for your Developer Edition M9, Are you still with Verizon ?
I have a bit of a repository for the DE stuff here >> https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=28823
Any of the Roms in the Developer forums will work fine on your phone, I have tried Leedroid / ViperOneM9 / Stock with Goodies / and ARHD
with no problems.
I would be interested in knowing how you can get Verizon to work on a GSM phone if that is the case.

Awesome, thanks for the link!
I am still with verizon! tried the vzw sim to no avail and so far my m9 is just looking pretty. am still using my vzw s3 with no power button. I may go out today and get a t-mobile Sim card. I am definately dragging my feet because verizon does have the best coverage. But I will also find out if I SIM unlocked the s3. After the power button broke I went crazy with a few dialer code apps and I got to a point where I could manually input APN's. If that's the case I may invest a few bucks to have it fixed.
I was looking at you nicely organized repository and noticed you had a copy of the stock recovery. May I ask what you used to back it up?

Anyone know if I already get them to the developer edition the update 1.40.401.8 ?????
Can you rephrase your question? I'm not sure what you're asking.
If you are asking about the 1.40.xx than as far as I know it is firmware for the international version. However you can flash it in Order to run some custom roms. I'm currently using it on my dev edition in order to run viper one.
