Good day, guys.
I was just wondering if it's still worth it to buy a brand new LG G3 today? I mean, it is priced roughly the same with a OnePlus X (very same specs with the G3) but I think G3 is more superior developer-support wise and camera output wise (Am I right?).
Also, is it still smooth (no hiccups) in Marshmallow? Is it still able to run highly demanding games smoothly in this time?
Lastly, the variant available here is D858. Am I going to have problems with this specific variant?
Thank you very much!

I'm planning to get a new cellphone and I would like to know,
Is the LG G3 worth it for 300 can (about 250 us)(used)?
Is there something I should know before buying it?
Moving from my laggy lg optimus l7, I want to make a good choice, thanks!
I'm about to buy the 16GB/2GB version for 350€ (new) in a couple of days, and I don't have any doubts. I'd much rather pay 350€ for a device this good, than pay twice as much for that Samsung Galaxy S6 or even HTC One M9. So yeah, definitely worth it in my opinion.

I have bought it when it got out in my country and spent around 580-600 euros. I can tell you i have no regrets for buying it. Lg G3 is almost a perfect phone and with rooting +custom roms = you ll fall in love.

Ok i am big fan of Lg and specially for G3 but lets be clear here, S6 has ( meaning hardware all specs and stuff) the best hardware that money can buy right now. Despite that its overpriced I think g4 will be even better at least on the camera lens

I'm talking money here, 350€ vs 700€ is not so small difference, and for this money, I think G3 is a great phone.
I'm looking forward to seeing that G4 will bring, and I already love the design. But then again, it will probably cost around 700€, so I'm still going with the G3 anyways.

G3 has some problems:
1) Overheating while gaming. Thanks to throttling, it doesn't heat enough to damage itself or become hard-to-touch. Plus the phone has some governor problems.
2) Battery life on official 5.0. You won't get more than 5:5.30 SOT while web browsing on 4g.
3) Cracks on casing, happen to a lot of people after several months of use.
4) Audio jack is buggy + some sound problems.
For me, none of there are critical. I only play non-demanding games on phone, there are no problems with Bluetooth stereo headset, 5 h sot is good enough and crack is tiny and only present near IR port.
Phone is pretty fast (if you change governor to conservative), firmware is stable and has some nice features, 2k screen looks gorgeous, and design/size are just right for me. It is worth these 300$ if you ask me.
I have the option to get an entirely new G3 32GB/3GB for 150 EUR less than a G4. I know that this is relative thing but still would like to get some opinions, maybe somebody moved from G3 to G4 and regret it for a reason or another or maybe you think the G4 is better in all aspects, etc ... much appreciated.
My brother has the G4 and its crazy fast. The Camera is pretty insane too. Only thing is its a new phone and no recovery or bootloader unlock for everyone but the International G4. They have root so at least that's good. Other than that I would say its a solid upgrade.

If I have the cash to spend, I'd take the latest flagship any day.

If you have extra cash, go for G4. In my opinion, 150 EUR is worth it.
G3 is already pushed second in the line and delays with updates. You would be dissapointed if you bought a new phone which has bad support from the beginning you purchased it.

It all depends on what you're looking for. If I can't get root on a device, specifically a phone, I will wait until it's rootable. However I wish the camera on the G3 was capable of what the G4 camera can do. Looks like it won't ever be able to do those things. I guess the chipset of the G3 doesn't support the same camera API(s) that the G4 does.
I have the G3 D850. I love the phone. It is my favorite phone I've ever owned. Recently my partner switched from Apple to the new G4. I tweaked it a bit for him and I must say that I was VERY impressed. The speed is incredible. It runs Lollipop like a boss and shows true zero lag when quickly maneuvering through the OS. The camera is phenomenal and I cannot say enough good things about the quality and speed of it. If you have the choice, go for the G4, you will not be disappointed.
To be honest I'm not sure I would bother to uprade to G4. For me the G4 is a G3 on steroids.
To me at this point I'm happier on the G3 since there's far more stuff such as ROMs and what not available. If/when the G4 finally at least gets bumped kernels and such then the G4 to me will finally be ready for prime time. Both the G3 and G4 are in my opinion two of the best devices on the market right now.
I'd stay with the g3 because of root and xposed, I can't live without xposed and the g4 is just a g3 with a better camera and faster OS but its barely customisable.
If I could, I'd switch manufacturers, LG just isn't worth it ATM.

Anybody would.
I recently moved to Nexus 6P but I'll answer anyways, stay with the G3, sure the camera is custom but honestly you can get a Google play store app if you want custom camera shots and it's so much cheaper to buy with a hell of a lot more customisation. Either you go big or go small when buying phones. Latest flagship or buy budget wise. Macro shots on the 6P still don't compare to the G3. And the expandable storage I miss too.

Hi Guys,
I am looking to upgrade from my HTC One M7, and either the G3 ($250) or G4 ($400) seems like good upgrade options.
If I go with the G3 and saved about $150, what am I missing from the G4? Is the G4 worth the extra $150?
Thanks
Hi @smokarz
I'm coming from a similar situation, moving from a Galaxy S4. I considered both the G3 and newer G4. I was willing to spend the extra ~$150 for the G4 (newer, more up to date specs), but in the end I opted for a G3. In my view the G3 is pushing the upper limit of the size I want for a phone. The G4 was ever so slightly farther into "phablet" space for my comfort. I also considered Nexus 6... too big. I already have an 8" screen tablet... I want my phone to stay under 6". The ~5.5" screen of the G3 is to my eyes the perfect compromise. I was looking for something perhaps slightly larger than the S4... but not by much. The G3 fits the bill perfectly. Comparing specs G3 vs G4 didn't yield much to push me over the top. Faster processer, sure, but the G3 is faster than my S4, so I'm already getting a boost. Similar memory, screen, G4 has better spec'ed camera but not in a meaningful way...
OF course all of this is subjective, because we all have our own biases and interests.
A good way to compare the phones is to google like this:

Thanks. Right now, the G3 seems to have the edge for me over the G4 due to price but also the ROM support that the G3 has. I can't find any ROM development for the G4 at all.
Is the G4 not getting any love from the developers?
Hello mates,
for the past weeks I probably watched every G4 video and read every review. Since it's really hard for me to get the V10 with supported LTE bands (Germany) and I'm kinda getting impatient, I'm thinking about getting the G4.
So my general question is:
Is it still worth it or should I get another device/wait for V10/G5/or whatever?
Thanks in advance
Kay
Get it. The V10 is too big and i'm not sure whether that design will endure. V10 v2 might be better.
G5, nobody knows what it will be like. G3 owners were so so about G4. I bet G4 owners will be the same with the G5. V10 has not tempted too many G4 owners to switch.
Since you are in germany you get the option of unlocked bootloader which people in other markets are still waiting for.
What else are you comparing with ? seems like LG only
What is your current device.

Hey thanks for your reply. I'm currently using an HTC One M7 and it's still running perfectly fine, but I feel like moving on. Preferably something with a fingerprint scanner.. I know the G4 doesn't have one but it offers this great camera I fell in love with. I'm really obsessed with LG now, since HTC only produced crap for the past months. And I can't wait for MWC 2016 :crying:
There is another device that caught my eye, the Gigaset ME pro. They just released the ME without pro, which means the pro will probably released next year .. Oh and then of course the Honor 7.

The only remaining contender that may challenge the G4's camera is the lumia 950. If you don't care too much about video then v10 isn't important.

This is the thing, the m10 is most likely going to have a SD 820. If it improves from the A9 camera which is good, then HTC will have come of age in the camera department.
if you like to play intensive games then the 808 is going to lag a little. if you don't care about heavy games, 808 is pretty good.

For fingerprint scanners, make sure they are using generation 2. The first gen isn't as good.
Not heard of these devices, price wise the G4 is competitive, is branded. You never know with these chinese ones.
The Huawei mate S has OIS, the honor & gigaset's do not.
Get it.
As of 2016 both of these devices are about the same price, so which one would you recommend? What are their pros and cons? What are your experiences with them? I heard G Flex 2 has some overheating issues, are they still going on ? Is there a chance it will be solved with the Marshmallow update? Thanks for helping out.
First of all: Personal Preference.
The LG G3 was a by far more popular phone, that's why you'll find more support - accessory and software wise.
The LG GFlex 2 is a more innovational device. I'd recommend to go into a store and Fell for yourself if you like the fex build of the Flex series.
Also remember that it's way harder to remove the battery on the Flex.
Regarding the overheating issues: Both phones overheat on the stock rom. As soon as I flashed cloudy or cyanogen those issues were resolved. I currently use my LG G3 as my secondary phone, since with a rom Installed, it performs pretty much like a newer flagship.
I personally don't think the curves display is natural or better in any way, I prefer the LG G3.
In the end both are pretty much similar phones, similar problems, similar specs - and simialr software.
Just decide whether the better support or the curved display is more important to you.
Dilemma
I want to buy a phone one between LG G3 or LG G Flex 2
The G Flex 2 goes for 250 euros (Holland)
The G3 goes for 228 euros
Both 16 GB and 2 gb of RAM
I don't game, i will be using the phone mainly for social media, youtube, netflix etc
is the G3 outdated for my needs ? and is the G Flex 2 screen that big of downgrade compared to G3 ?
