I have an issue with my JY-like headunit (http://www.aliexpress.com/item/1024...radio-DVD-player-for-VW-GOLF/32491993642.html).
My wifi won't turn on, when I attempt to it loads for a while then just switches the wifi back to off. I've already asked for a software update from the seller and flashed it on to no avail and also reset the entire device resulting in the loss of Easyconnect. So I was wondering if anyone has ever experience the same issue and found a solution, perhaps related to the hardware. And also has anyone figured out how to reinstall Easyconnect as I was looking through the old Q&A thread and it seems like theres no solution as of yet.
i had the same problem after installing malaysk rom and i tried a lot of things without any hope !!
I just installed the version 1.51230 easy connected and it's not recognizing my S7. Wondering if it's an issue with using the wrong USB input even though the phone is charging through it, and I can't be bothered to pull apart my dash
Same problem here with April Malaysk Rom. I see that if the usb 3g dongle is phisically disconnected from the unit then wifi will work...

Ok, thank you!
I posted it in the right thread
bug
sorry, I just saw I was in the wrong place, I just coppied to the right topic but I can´t remove this from here, could you remove this reply and keeep just the other?
hi, at first I never expected such a perfect rom, stable, almost fully funcional and UI is the best part of it
hi, I think a bug that it´s freaking me out is the signal, my phone loses signal randomly, and I have to restart it(airplane mode switch on and after off doesn´t workout). I don´t know if it´s a common issue with you but I have that
besides that, I will continue testing the rom and waiting for the camera issue that I think it´s the biggest problem we have now, the other things we can live without,
thanks,ics rocks
Don't know if it has been covered already, but a quick search didn't turn up anything.
I am on 4.04 stock and the problem is, i can connect to the wireless network just fine, and everything works for some time.
Quite soon, no webpages open anymore and everything just gets timed out. The connection, however, is there and signal is perfect.
I slide wifi off, then on, it reconnects and everything works again for a short period. Any idea what could be causing this and what a workaround could be?
Have you tried resetting your wireless router and modem? Sometimes that happens to me, no matter what device or rom I'm using. Shows it perfectly connected but nothing opens. I make a habit to reset my modem and router weekly now to avoid it.

I'll try it right away. My laptop however stays nicely connected and has zero wifi issues, but i'll give it a go and report back.
No help unfortunately. Wifi stays connected, however there is no internet connection after 5-10 minutes.
Is your battery level low, some battery saving feature is active ? Just guessing ?!

Try reinserting your sim card, helped me a couple of times
Well, that's the thing. No mods, no nothing extra running, battery full or almost empty makes no difference. Sometimes the connection dies in one minute, the phone's personal best is like 10 minutes probably
I will try and remove the simcard, however i am unsure how this could affect anything. I am willing to try anything at this point, this is realy frustrating.
I have the exact same problem. Currently I'm running Android Revolution 15.0, but it did the same with Renovate rom. I have hboot 1.31 atm.

Had this issue too. I switched to only use G band on my wifi box. N band was always making my hox s wifi "freeze"

Anybody has this issue?

Yes, me too. If you have root you can easily fix it by editing a wifi-configfile:
/etc/firmware/wlan/prima/WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini
Apply the following changes:
ConnectivityThresholdDBM=-100
gEnableBmps=0
Your wifi signal should be stronger now and it shouldn't drop anymore.
Found that in the Z forum, also works for Zl.
Don't forget to back up!
....and as usual: i can not be made responsible if you brick...blablabla....

Thank the guy in Z forum, I just copied it from there.
I got my Xperia ZL 6502 about a week ago and I am having simialr issues with wifi. In addition to loosing wifi connection every now and then, the phone's wifi connection is also messing up connection of the wireless router with other connected devices in the house. I found people having similar issues on sony support forums. Seems the phone has compatibility issues with Netgear make of routers. I had absolutely no issues when I connected to a different router.
Did anybody here notice the same issue with your ZLs and did the configfile editing also got rid of the router disconnecting from other devices problem?

Hi All,
I've a question. Do you has already an issue with your WiFi after upgrade to JB 4.2.2.?
I guess it is so or it feels so.
BTW: How can I root my XZL to verify the WiFi parameter?!

I'm having the same problem. It can't connect to any network. I also upgraded my firmware but the problem still exists.
Interesting - I'll have to check out these settings later.
I had issues with being able to connect to an 802.1x secured wireless network... I basically reset my wifi settings figuring something was corrupted (I removed most of the files in /data/misc/wifi... I'd previously been told that these files would be re-created if you removed them...)
If you decide to remove these files yourself... make a backup...

I haven't had any issues with wifi connections after wiping those files... I'd restored those settings via TiBu... so it's probably my fault.

Have you updated to 4.3 latest firmware , i was having same issue. But after updating to 4.3 i do not have this issue.. WIFI works perfect.
Ok so in the past hour I've noticed that my phone has disconnected from my wifi a few times. It does connect straight away however when I try to load a page it won't load and I have to wait a little while longer until it works again.
Has anyone else had wifi issues with this device?
Any body have any wifi issues at all?
Yeah I'm having the same issue with my home's wifi.
Doesn't seem to occure at work though(or maybe I haven't noticed it since I do work there).
Talking about the 4g version.
Hi, thanks for the reply.
Apparently this is a common issue with the S4 as well. I did update my routers firmware yesterday and it didn't disconnect at all last night however ill keep watch on it.
have you tried anything to fix it?

I don't want to void the warranty though... I'm thinking it maybe a router issuer and not a firmware one...

Haven't tried anything yet.
I'll probably try flashing the latest fw at some point - which I think doesn't void your warranty.
If you find something out, let us know. I'll do the same.

I've got a new router coming from Sky. (Sky Hub.) I'll see how that acts before I flash my phone.
Let me know how you get on.
Can anyone explain how to get the MH5 Firmware and what steps need to be taken to flash it?
Yes I am too. I made another thread asking if people knew if the 9190, 9192 and 9195 have different wifi antennas. I am really bummed out over this.
Can you describe the wifi issue you have? What FM are you running?
No Wifi issues here.
So I did have issues, but that was the fail of Xposed-Framework, without that framework, there is no problem.
As a matter of fact you are able to stop the Wifi Power Safe Mode und the Service Mod (*#0011#) ... That stops a lot of Issues

Hopefully someone here can advise me on this issue I have been getting with my Nexus 5x and using chrome but issue also happens in youtube. Note I have not setup my phone with a SIM yet, just been testing out the phone features and Android 6.0
When connected to my home networtk chrome and youtube work fine but every now and then the web page loading seems to stall in chrome, and then i watch the wifi signal disconnect and then reconnect and then the web page will load, but before it does i get the error message
dns_probe_finished_no_internet and sometimes its ERR name not resolved or ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED or similar inside chrome.
it seems to recover after about 30secs and then i have full wifi again. it just keeps happening This seems to be random at the moment but is consistent. My home network is pretty solid and all my other devices work fine and do not exhibit this issue, my wifi is solid.
I have done all the usual forget network, wipe system cache and static IP etc. nothing makes a difference. can anyone shed some light what might be causing this?
thanks
Did you manage to solve the problem? I got my phone last week and I am having the exact same problem.
I should mention that I am on stock unrooted and using At&t network. I checked the wifi connection from my older phone lg optimus g and it seems to be fine. It keeps on disconnecting and reconnecting on my 5x though and I think that is draining the battery faster than anything else. My top two battery uses are android system and android os rather than sceeen.
Do you think it is a hardware problem?

Have the same problem with mine after one week's use. Was fine until this morning.
On hold with warranty service now and will be getting a replacement.

Any luck getting rid of the problem? I even factory reset my phone but the problem is still there. My problem is also global, not just in chrome. I think that there is a problem with the wifi of the phone. I do not want to root and install a new kernel as of yet. Just want to stay on the stock rom.
What did the warranty service say? Is this a common problem with the 5x? I would rather not RMA if the problem can be solved by some other means. I put on the screen protector so well. Don't want to do it all over again lol.
Also, is Android OS on the top of the list in battery drain? It is for me and I think the wifi connecting and disconnecting prevents the phone from sleeping.

Tried everything, reset network connections and then tried a complete reset and attempted new setup but the wifi was too flaky to complete the setup. Since the problem happened while I was using the phone I was not able to observe the effect on battery life. I would imagine it would take a big hit trying to connect and failing continuously.
Did this before calling Google so I wouldn't have to do this while on the phone. Warranty Service did not mention any ongoing problem with the wifi.
Am setting up the replacement currently. I'll save rooting, etc. until I've used the phone for a good while.
Bite the bullet and send it back. It's not going to heal itself.

oops sorry I should have said im in the UK, dont worry il find it. Can I ask is your replacement phone working correctly now, no wifi drop outs as before? if so what version of marshmallow are you on?
I've only been using it about 8 hours but no problems so far. The phone updated to 6.0.1 during the initial setup.
You can find the phone # for the UK by using a 'Contact Us' link in the Devices Store on Google Play.
ok so I seem to have fixed this issue been having and it turns out the phone itself is fine. The issue was with 2.4Ghz wifi networks. There are quite a few in my local area and there is probably a lot of cross talk on channels. So i setup a 5GHz network and my n5x seems rock solid since ive connected to that. no one single drop out all day! speeds are also much faster im getting 150MB download speed on wifi lol...
i changed nothing else on my phone just for the record. hope this maybe also helps someone else

I think I have an issue with the college wifi as well. I asked my friends who are using the same wifi network and their phones also do not seem to remain connected. I thought that it was an issue with my phone but I guess it is not.
To test that, I connected my phone to my college wifi all night and when I woke up in the morning, more than 20% battery had been used probably because of disconnecting and reconnecting continuously. The next night, I connected to some other wifi and there was less than 3 or 4% drop in battery overnight.
I hope they upgrade the college wifi as the battery drain is very annoying.
