In Settings -> Display & lights -> Notification Light, there is a text that says "Always on" next to the notification color dot. When notification is triggered the LED light goes on and remains lit. Is this what "Always on" means, and is there a way to set the notification light to blink instead of being constantly lit?

I was recently going through the phone's settings menu, and in sound and display there is a section called pulse notification light which according to the description, pulses LED light repeatedly for new notifications. I have this checked to do this, but I have never seen the LED pulse for any notifications, whether it be incoming calls, sms, or email. I have checked and unchecked it, rebooted the phone, but to no avail I see no pulse notification.
Am I missing something here?
My phone is totally stock for the OS, and applications.
The notification LED light only blinks if the screen is off and if the notification LED light setting is enabled within their respective applications.
The screen is off, and I don't see any setting within the default messaging app, or the gmail app that says anything about LED notifications. I don't think that is very smart for a smartphone. I hate the phone vibrating while sitting on my desk, I would rather have the LED flashing to notify me of new messages, and/or email.
I'm sorry, there is no LED notification in the settings, bad memory LOL. The LED should work as long as Notifications is checked, although it may be defective, like blinking 5 times when you first receive an email or message, and then blinks sporadically afterwards. A fix is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11292197&postcount=4
It could very well be the case that your LED light is not working and you should go to a repair center to get it checked out.
I am using Light Flow but have been seeing a yellow notification light and there is nothing that it is notifying. I am not positive, but I think I saw the same color notification before loading Light Flow.
I can not figure out what this is notifying me of and in Light Flow I don't have anything notify me in yellow.
Anyone know what's going on with the light?
I have the same issue as well. Even after I uninstalled light flow it remains.
You need to go into whatever is set for yellow, and find the setting that removes notifications. I had yellow set for google talk, but the notification light would go off until I physically opened the app, even if the notification was removed from the status bar. You can set it so that the notification light disappears upon turning on the screen.

Yea, I uninstalled the app, when I did have it I did use the setting you mentioned but it didn't help.
It would be nice for Google to build in something like Light flow into the system Nativity that wouldn't be so buggy.
For some reason my friends SGS3 from T-Mobile keeps a green LED Notification on when the setting is checked on the events LED Notification. He does not have anything open at all and nothing is in the notification bar.
This is a strange occurring as it also causes any other LED selected in the APP as lightflow to be a different color. Like if I put purple, it will be yellowish.
This doesn't happen when I uncheck the events LED Notification but I keep the other ones open. So charging the light is still red when charging.
What can be causing the events LED notification to be staying on if all events are cleared, etc. Is there just something open that I can't see? This happens even with lightflow disabled. Did anyone else have this problem?

it is a known issue with the current version of lightflow...you need to uninstall it completely and the problem goes away...
Is it possible (with any mod or app) to keep the notification LED on when the display is on? I'm using LightFlow to manage the LED, but as soon as I turn on the display, the LED turns off. When I turn off the display again without reading the notification which caused the led to turn on, it turns on again - until I read the notification, then it stays off.
I would like to keep it on (regardless if the display is on or off) until I clear the notification which made it on!
me to. I donĀ“t understand why it doesnt work. Must be a easy step.
No ideas?
Is this simply impossible?
The LED notification light will not flash for messages or specific set notifications . All LED settings are turned on, each was turned off and back on, LED notification is turned on, accessibility LED is turned. Battery was removed and reinstalled. No change. Several suggestions online regarding installing an LED manager. Installed Lightflow, no change., uninstalled. Currently installed Light Manager, no change. With LED managers checked box in Security for downloaded apps access to notification. When I turn off LED notification and then turn back on, I checked each feature for notification and the light blinks to confirm color, but then will not blink when an actual notification happens. Any ideas?

Have you tried settings>accessibility> scroll all the way to bottom and activate the service for whatever notification app you are using.

Yes that was the first thing done.
Don't know if this also applies to you:
If you go withing settings to Display-->LED notifications and do a long-press on that one you can find a number of check-marks.
The last one is for "Downloaded applications" - I had the same issue once when a check-mark was missing there
