[Q]Crazy Network problems in Korea...Need help!

Hi people!
2 months ago I moved from Brazil to South Korea, so, when I arrived, I've decided to buy a F180L...I bought a new one, and when I tried to make a plan, the people from LG U+ told that the phone belongs to somewhere else, and I couldn't registered that phone...Back to the seller he told me that I could only use it outside Korea (I almost killed him ), but ok...I bought an Korean Galaxy Nexus (which works in any network), then, made a plan in KT Olleh...
So now, I've decided to root and unlock my phone, and so I did. But WHY I still can't use an Olleh simcard in that LG U+ Optimus G?
How can I check if it is really unlocked? I
tested my sim card from Brazil, and it can't do roaming very well here, but at least the phone recognizes the sim carrier, but it can't register on any network...
Do anyone know what can be happening?
thank y'a!

You need a network unlock, not a bootloader / root unlock. Look for sim unlock on google. Also check if the bands are the same.
Its not network lock but white list.
Optimus G isnt locked, and even locked phone can be unlocked for free through LG.com (In case of korean phone)
It wouldnt work if u just put Olleh sim card into your phone, you have to register it at office.
Also say thank for those guys, since you bought stolen / lost on purpose phone, according to rules and laws, your phone should be confiscated

Oh! Thank you, man!
Do you know if in another country I'll have the same problem...Cause I'll go back to my country in one year, so...I want to use that phone there...
Nah should work fine outside of korea.
Korean providers using the white list system, thats why you cant just put sim into other network phone and get it work, the IMEI registration is required.

[Q] Which carrier for my g3

So switched to ATT from TMO and when I did I got a g3 at ATT... then I find out the bootloader is locked... annoying but not a deal breaker.... then I put it on my Qi charger and it doesnt charge... I check the back and notice it only has NFC so I figure I need to buy a new back... no luck... ATT went with PAM instead of Qi...
So on to my issues...
Should I go to TMO and buy an g3? From what I understand the bootloader is unlocked and it uses Qi. Am I correct?
Lastly with everyone reading this probably already having a g3... if you had to do it again would you buy a g3 right now? If not then please explain.
I do plan to also buy a Samsung Note Edge but cash price is going to be high and uncertain about ATT with the locked bootloaders etc. So that might be a device I will have to wait till a confirmed unlock happens for the bootloader for the att variety.

Can a Bad ESN phone be activated and used outside of USA?

Hey there, my brother is currently visiting my family in USA and cellphones are half price if i buy it there, some eBayers sell LG G4 a lot cheaper with BAD ESN, I live in Israel, will I be able to activate and use the phone here in Israel or BAN ESN is globally locked?
I have the same question. Will work bad esn sprint g4 with international gsm operators. Thanks.
yes VERIZON is unlocked and sprint also unlockble
I'm too looking for a cheap G4 on ebay, the lowest i found is around 230$ with bad ESN and account locked.
So after researching, i know that the phone must be unlocked to be able to use outside USA.
Best way is to buy a H815 which is factory unlocked, the AT&T H810 can be unlocked via Unlock code.
The T-Mobile H811 use unlock app instead of code so considering impossible to unlock, but this one can be flash to H815.
The Verizon is factory unlocked, but bootloader is not, so it will be difficult if you want to modify the system.
The Sprint version you have to contact Sprint to unlock, don't know if it's possible with bad ESN.
The USCellular US991 is factory unlocked, but it's not confirm because not much people use it.
That's all i know, hope it'll help.
Anyway if you can't unlock it you still can you it as a nice device and wait for a possible method.

How to use other cellular company on Mexico?

Hi , yesterday I got Moto Z Play on internet, it was supposed to be unlocked, so I put my sim card (TELCEL) but it didnt recognize it.
I put other sim card (MOVISTAR) and worked, then put AT&T sim card and worked again, but with TELCEL it didnt work.
So I searched and discovered that the phone is on AT&T.
Looked on internet and found that I can unlock the phone via a code, but in order to do it that way, the phone has to ask for the code when I put other sim card, but the request doesnt appear.
Does anybody know how I can fix it so I can use my TELCEL sim card . . . ??????
If you bought your phone via internet, it must be unlocked, but i think there is a problem with your carrier not with the phone. Here, in Mexico its a mandatory the sell of unlocked phones with any carrier, but maybe it could be an agreement between lenovo and at&t
If you bought your phone at full retail price it must be unlocked by law, if not you can contact the company that sold it to you and have them unlock it for you.
If you bought it with a data plan it will be locked to that network until after the mandatory period expires.
Having said that, it is odd that it functions with SIMs from AT&T and Movistar (Not related at all) and not Telcel. Maybe is you TELCEL SIM that is not working.
looking for an answer y sadly found the IMEI from this phone is reported as stolen/lost, maybe thats why it doesnt work with TELCEL sim card, lets hope the seller answers my complain
thanks everyone for the comments
where did you buy it man?
I bought it on linio.com.mx

Hi, I have an unlocked AT&T moto Z play from Amazon (paid 6,900 Pesos) and it works perfectly with Telcel, so the phone definitely is compatible. However the sim tray allows for only 1 sim card. Good luck with your seller.

Verizon SIM in CARRIER UNLOCKED T-Mobile s8+ not working

Hi
I have a carrier unlocked T-Mobile s8+ and need to use a Verizon SIM in it and am getting errors trying to use a verizon SIM. The Verizon SIM is from another phone and is already registered. I put the IMEI number of the phone into Verizons web portal to test compatibility and it failed. Does that mean there is no way to get this combination to work? Does the IMEI need to be in the VZW database for this to work? Will flashing XAA guarantee this to work? Thanks for any help and advice.

do u have a tmobile phone, it is different than the carrier unlocked phone, those are 2 different models,
the carrier unlocked.. the sim is unlocked..
the tmobile is not carrier unlocked, and by flashing the firmware of the unlocked version, will NOT unlock the sim.. u will need to device unlock app with the tmobile phone 1st... and usually tmobile will NOT unlock unless u have paid it off and using on their system for 40 days..
others like me had it unlocked with days of service, cause we are tmobile customers for years already... I on the other hand bought the phone on ebay from someone who bought it from Samsung and the imei was not added to tmobile system and I had to call tmobile to add the imei which took about 3 days, then to call back to request the sim unlock which took another 3 days, the device unlock app unlocked the phone instantly...
that was my process for me to get the sim unlock... but if urs it not unlocked and is paid off, another way to get it unlocked it to give it to someone u know, let them use it and call tmobile to start the above process...
Hope that sums up what must be done...

Hi thanks for the explanation, I am pretty familiar with the differences between carrier (SIM) unlock and unlocked firmware as I have flashed Android in the past. I had the phone carrier (SIM) unlocked by T-Mobile through their app and I was still not able to use the Verizon SIM in my phone (not registered error). It turns out (and I found this out by reading through the many messages in this forum) that T-Mobile firmware apparently disables some frequencies that other carriers may use. Once I flashed the XAA unlocked *firmware*, I popped in my Verizon SIM and it worked like a charm. I hope this info is useful to someone at some time and I thank all of you for your contributions to getting this working. KUDOS!

Good to know, but sound weird, thought T-Mobile phones work for all gsm Sims just needing to change apn,
But now cdma merging with gsm, that's so much better as far as phones go, use any phone now from any provider.
Look how the s8 plus is all the same software and the same hardware, just different carrier stuff..

I thought it was weird too. Busted my head for a couple of days trying to figure it out. Is Verizon still CDMA? *scratches head*
Yes, their 3g and 2g networks are CDMA.
If you insert Verizon sim into T-mobile phone, you'll get LTE data, but you won't be able to make calls. Only data will work. T-mobile firmware support band 2, 4 and 13, so you should have data, but not phone service. If you don't have data icon, you'll need add Verizon apn.
FYI
Flashing the phone with G955U1 firmware fixed this issue. I am now able to use this successfully on Verizon.
