Samsung ACE 2 (UK) - Galaxy Ace II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am following these instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-ace/ace-2-develop/rom-cyanogenmod-12-1-sergeyl-t3275987
Where can I find the MD5sum for cm12.1-20160426-UNOFFICIAL-codina_full.zip ?
Everytime I go into recovery and install the above I get a report that it can not be opened as it is bad. I have downloaded it more than once.
In the instructions it states at the end:
Fits only with new versions of cwm / twrp can put a kernel of ChronoKernel. Where do I find the new versions of the files I need to install 12.1?

[Q] understandable nexus one unlock/root/upgrade

Hi, I've a nexus one with android 2.0 stock! After loosing my contact list and had to restore or totally replace my phone several times because my cell provider was unable to detect/repair/help ... I've decide to do it by myself! ... my nexus one was stuck on X ... so I've unlock bootloader and fastboot recovery a RA-passion version ... black screen ... tried lots of 2.0, 2.1, 2.2 available version ... without success ... always black screen ... so I decide to install gingerbread 2.3 cyanogen ... working (root, superuser, etc) but without gapps so useless for me ... ive try some gapps for gingerbread ... didnt work (was stuck on cyanogen animation) ... so after 2 days I've decide to use PASSIMG.zip to install a factory recovery ... got android 2.2 ... installed my fb, twitter,gmail account ... installed my last apps ... and I've got a popups "system update" ... after rebooting android 2.3.4 build GRJ22 was installed with all gapps without root, look like a legal copy!
My questions:
1- Is it possible to root 2.3.4? if yes, how?
2- why 2.3.4 installed by itself?
3- how can I do a real downgrade?
4- and since Im with 2.3.4 do I really need trying to roots it or its useless?
thanks
Hi,
To answer your questions:
=> At this moment there is no possible way of rooting version 2.3.4
=> To do a real downgrade, go to the link below and do the PASSIMG method, using FRG83. Execute, and you'll be on 2.2.1.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wik...des_&_Tutorials#Unroot_.2F_Restore_your_Nexus
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Once you are on 2.2.1 use the following method to update manual to 2.3.3
http://www.intomobile.com/2011/02/24/how-to-manually-update-your-nexus-one-to-android-2-3-3/
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Now we come to the process of rooting your nexus one to 2.3.4 using stock ROM
1) Root your GRI40 (2.3.3) build;
2) Flash a custom recovery (like Amon_RA 2.2.1, from his thread), using ROM Manager from the market, or do it manually using flash_image;
2) Download the GRJ22 (2.3.4) update and place it in the root of your sdcard;
3) Download the su-2.3.6.1-ef-signed.zip file and place it in the root of your sdcard;
4) Reboot into recovery;
5) If you flash any other recovery besides Amon_RA 1.9, turn signature verification OFF (it is off by default in 1.9);
6) Flash the GRJ22 update, but do NOT reboot once it finishes flashing;
7) Re-read step 6. It is important that you do not reboot, otherwise you are stuck;
8) Flash the su-2.3.6.1-ef-signed.zip file;
9) Reboot;
10) At this point, you are rooted, but you have lost the stock recovery. If you want a custom recovery to stick, follow the next steps;
11) Download a terminal emulator or a root file manager from the market;
12) Delete these two files from your ROM: /system/recovery-from-boot.p and /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
13) Re-flash the custom recovery you want.
14) Reboot.
The SU.Zip file is below:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6408470/su-releases/su-2.3.6.1-ef-signed.zip

The Update file for 2.3.4 is below:

Hope this helps. I don't credit for this. Had the same problem and got alot of info and finally figured it out.
Have fun

I have installed the rom and its working great on my device.
BROKEN link
link 3, 4 and 5 is broken...
I'm trying this instruction now. (links worked)
After downloading TWRP from here offcourse.
**UPDATE**
OK, I flashed this because the origal ROM was having wifi connection issues.
After flashing I had the same issues, but after a couple of reboots and enabling and disabling wifi, it started working. After flashing I also had some issues using the keyboard, but after playing with the keyboard/input options that worked too. Camera worked right away so no need to excecute the terminal commands displayed above. I installed all the most used apps again and so far everything works like a charm.
I'll update this post if I run in to trouble again.
**UPDATE**
After running for a couple of days, Wifi issues are back. Wifi can be switched on, but no networks appear.
Rebooting doesn't help and phone reboots by itself very often. Weird that all these issues started after a couple of days.

Pardon Me.. But I'm a newbie... Custom ROM suggestions required...

Hi ,
I am new here.. not new to rooting ....
I used to use my Samsung galaxy grand i9082 but switched to nexus 5 last year...
Since then my grand has been sitting in my cupboard drawer. I also found this phone very slow performance so switched...
But now i am thinking of flashing a custon Rom to increase its performance and remove all the bloatware...
so i need suggestions of a stable custom ROM with good performance and all features working like dual sim ...etc..
Can you guys help me .... ?
Lollipop or Kitkat or Marshmellow expected with fast perfomance and no lagging ( I guess Marshmellow will lag too much so i can go with KK or Lollipop...)
Please suggest me ...
CM12.1
I cant even flash my recovery...( i dont know why.... its so easy for nexus 5 )
First of all i cant find any download link for CWM recovery for i9082...( .tar file which can be flashed using odin.. ihave the zip file with name CWM_6.0.5.0_Non_Touch_xenon92.zip )
As of now i have downloaded TWRP recovery i9082_TWRP_skullface.tar which is flashed successfully using odin3 v3.07.
but when i restart the device after booting into android it again shows android recovery ...
I also tried the unchecking the auto reboot in odin and removing battery after flashing and trying to boot into recovery but again no result ..everytime the samsung logo comes and again phone restarts and same goes again and again till i boot into the android.
Can anyone give me the CWM recovery...thanks in advance....
Also i have download 2 super user SU files with diffrent version.... UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.25_2.zip and UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip ...can anyone confirm if the latter one ( new version ) will work.....

Try this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3073108
That is a CM 12.1 port to grand duos by pawitp. It is pretty stable and functional. Though I experienced frequent freezing with the latest build 20151115, I got it fixed by installing frost kernel ( here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2927449).
After installing frost kernel, adjust your cpu governor to lulzactive, and your i/o scheduler to sioplus (the most recommended setting for Grand duos with CM 12.1).
Though the consequences of using custom kernel with that rom is that you can no longer uses delta upgrade features of that rom, you have to download full update build and flash it as if you're to flash new rom (though without wiping cache partition and dalvik cache).
Good luck with your quest to find perfect rom for your grand duos!
Install CM12.1 (Based on Lollipop 5.1.1) by pawitp. It is stable and very fast. I'm using it currently

[Recovery][TWRP 3+] [sph-d710] 4.4+ CM11 via [Isorec recovery]

This is simply an info thread on the latest developments in recovery for the d710. I did not compile any of the aforementioned files. I and a few other users only tested the "adjustments / tweaks" our recognized developer @Lanchon made so it would be fully functional on the d710.
Please don't post here for kernel issues or with recovery support. Post in their respective threads.
Info:
So basically, Lanchon has figured out a way to take the Cm 11 kernel and add a feature that allows a separate recovery (inside the actual recovery partition which was never used in the stock TW firmware) to boot instead of the recovery attached to the kernel. It is respectively called the "Isorec kernel" (isolated recovery).
This was originally created for the S2 i9100 and then adapted for the i777 and d710 because they are in the same chipset family. So the thread is located in the i9100 section.
The thread and links are located here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...t/isorec-isolated-recovery-galaxy-s2-t3291176
I suggest that you go there first and read the Original Post to better understand it.
Then recently, developer arnab and Dees_Troy made TWRP 3.0.2.0 official for the i9100 and they've enabled it to accept isorec requirements in order to boot inside the "recovery partition."
Thread and links here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/development-derivatives/recovery-twrp-3-0-0-0-t3330457
Last, Lanchon modded TWRP slightly so it will work on the d710, i777, and i9100 alike with a crossflash version and uploaded it to his androidfilehost.com developer profile.
Links to that are also in his kernel thread above.
Note: you must have a kernel that will support isorec booting or it will not work.
How to:
1. Kernel
Download Lanchon's CM11 Isorec kernel from the links in his thread and flash it in cwm. Make sure it's for your device (d710)
or
Have the latest CM11 nightly running on your phone already (it already has isorec merged into it)
2. Recovery
download TWRP 2.8.7.0 i9100.zip and flash
flash TWRP patcher.zip (D710)
reboot recovery
from TWRP recovery flash TWRP 3.0.2.0 img
flash TWRP patcher.zip (D710) again
reboot recovery
You should have TWRP 3.0.2.0 on your d710 and should be able to flash any ROM that supports isorec without having to reflash your recovery.
Currently, we (d710 users) only have Dastin's Cyanogenmod 11 nightly builds. Lanchon's isorec kernel code will work in any AOSP or AOKP ROM but that maintainer would have to adopt it into his kernel.
There is also a "Disabler.zip" that will erase the recovery partition if you want to go back for whatever reason.
Please give credit and thanks to the people who gave their time and knowledge in order to make this possible.
Great summary. Thanks!
I'm guessing we download TWRP from here?

What's the difference between "lanchon-twrp-patcher-20160417-crossflash-d710.zip" and "lanchon-twrp-patcher-20160417-d710.zip"?
Any known bugs?
Old I know, but I was recently looking into this myself. Per this page
The standard version will only let you flash packages for your device. The crossflash version will additionally let you flash packages for the i9100. Use crossflash at your own risk.

well you need two files to start when switching from cwm to twrp. this what i used:
modified arnab's twrp-3.0.2-0-i9100.zip
/META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script
Code:
getprop("ro.product.device") == "SPH-D710" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "SPH-D710" ||
d710 twrp patcher you don't really need crossflash
then update to official TWRP i9100 build
and flash the patch again

Ok now it's gotten a little confusing . The OP says flash one file and it's done but your showing two files and a script . Which is it for a d2spr running the latest CM 11 with cwm recovery going to twrp ? Also does the fact the crossfire patch that allows to flash packages for the i9100 mean we could flash lollipop or MM and it would work on the D710 ? Telephony and data work or not work ? thanks

I think he was referencing this like Unknownsoldier posted up above. OP lanchon-twrp-patcher-20160417-crossflash-d710.zipsays you can flash this and your done in the instructions . You said something different is why I asked because I don't want to brick my device . Not trying to split hairs with you . Just want to be careful . https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=54335
Hopefully @Mavrikmeercat will come back and clarify . You have sort of muddied the waters for me and perhaps thats a good thing until I find out for sure . Might have save my device . Thanks
update: The thing I find most odd is his instructions say to flash lanchon-twrp-patcher-20160417-crossflash-d710.zip and your done but that file is only 7.2 KB . I don't see how TWRP could possibly be contained in a 7.2 kb file . I hope he will clear this up and give us a link to correct file doe D710 .

the OP instructions don't mention patcher but a full TWRP build that doesn't exist unless you build/patch it yourself
1. Run the latest nightly of CM11 for d710(contains isorec kernel)
2. Patch i9100 TWRP 3(isorec)package (info post #3) http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/?id=14252#downloads
3. flash from cwm to TWRP(isorec)package
4. IMPORTANT flash twrp-patcher for d710 before the next step
5. reboot recovery to verify twrp
6. use instructions to update to official i9100 builds https://github.com/Lanchon/TWRP-Patcher-SGS2

We found that the TWRP website download link doesn't work on some mobile browsers.. (Go figure!)
It downloads an html file that's 7.2KBs. the actual recovery is like 9.x MB
Maromi is correct. Lanchon changed a few things around since I created the OP.
download TWRP 2.8.7.0 i9100.zip and flash
flash TWRP patcher.zip (D710)
reboot recovery
from TWRP recovery flash TWRP 3.0.2.0 img
flash TWRP patcher.zip (D710) again
reboot recovery
OP updated.. Sorry guys, Been busy at work.
It's to bad twrp can't just replace cwm officially and the builds be packaged with it instead of cwm . If twrp were built for the epic and submitted to cm gerrit for approval then all the patching would be obselete because twrp seems the recovery of choice by far .
how do I flash the TWRP patcher?

Wow. That's awesome. Thanks Maromi! And more thanks to Mavrikmeercat, Lanchon, Arnab. So nice to have the latest TWRP running on the old D710!
Just follow Maromi's guide. To reiterate: 1. Download "Arnab's TWRP" for i9100 ("twrp-3.0.2-0-i9100.zip" here, see Downloads tab). 2. Download latest "TWRP" official for i9100 (here). 3. Download latest Lanchon's "TWRP Patcher" for D710 (here, see Downloads link). 4. Modify "Arnab's TWRP": unzip, find "updater-script", open in text editor, modify as specified (add "SPH-D710" line), save, zip everything back. 5. Copy files to device. 6. Boot into recovery (CWM if on CM 11). 7. Flash modified "Arnab's TWRP". 8. Flash "TWRP Patcher". 9. Reboot into recovery. 10. Flash "TWRP" official for i9100. 11. Flash "TWRP Patcher". 12. Enjoy. Thank. Donate to them.
That means we now have powerful TWRP recovery (over old CWM). Can now run things like REPIT to partition (gain much more room for app storage). And many more benefits. But it's now necessary to make sure any new OS supports IsoRec before flashing. And remember to flash "TWRP Flasher" after updating TWRP every time. I will probably be leaving my D710 as it is now for a long while...

[Guide] Simple way to return to stock for x720

Hello. Last time I wanted to return to stock x720 ROM, but I won't flash US version. Tried on myself it. My solve is TWRP-based. Go on:
Before you start, read all below.
1. Prepare all what you need:
1.1) Stock Recovery Image for our phones, it can be older (there is from 5.8, it's just for install update, which will update itself and will be in english)
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862668751
-- You have to unzip, then get "recovery_stock.img" file into your phone
Source: https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-pro3/how-to/leeco-le-pro-3-root-t3476560
1.2) Stock ROM Zip of any version (there is the newest** from official site)
http://107.155.49.13/222/8/95/scmau...ndtype=0&vrtmcd=109&buss=0&cips=87.105.138.35
-- You have to get ZIP into your main folder (called /SDCARD/ or Internal Storage) and rename it as "update.zip"
Source: https://bbs.le.com/zt/eui/le_pro3.html
2. Leave your ROM
2.1) Turn on your phone into TWRP
2.2) Do a standard wipe
2.3) Install image of Stock Recovery (as Recovery)
2.4) DON'T turn off the phone, after correct flash go back to main menu, then go "Reboot" and check "Recovery"
If you did all right, you should be on LeEco's Recovery. If it is on TWRP, something went wrong.
3) Install ROM
3.1) Yes, I know. Linked recovery is in Chinese, but LeEco didn't change interface. First is Update System and you select it. Second is Clear Data and you DON'T select it.
3.2) Gray button is Restart and you shouldn't push it. Second is blue and means Start. You should push blue (Start).
After ~10 mins, your phone will be booted again. Your system should be ready to work
4) Update
After configuration, your phone is ready to work.
** The newest version of x720 is 5.9.023s but after small OTA. You can do it trough system updater.
After all, you should do Restore Factory Settings with Format virtual SD Card - it will clean dirt of TWRP files etc.
5) Protips
If you can't begin because can't transfer files into mobile, you should try do "adb push", TWRP can be also installed into ADB. Ask if it is trouble.
For working play store, you should download APK of Play Store and Play Services (prefer 440 version) from sites like ApkMirror.com.
Install looks like bug-free and doesn't contain weird files.
OFC you do it at your own risk.
<DIG> because you like to flash x727 ROM in x720 devices. Why so risky, why you try to brick your devices?
Another one dig. If sbd stuck on TWRP without ROM, try to transfer trough file explorer or adb push files. If you have US ROM, you should get band repair (look there: https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-pro3/how-to/flashing-guide-roundup-leeco-le-pro-3-t3511901 ).
Let's be clear and not Obfuscate things.

There is no risk with an unlocked X727 or X720 flashing each others Roms. The phones are identical in every way except that some X720's have 6GB ram while the X727 has just 4GB ram. Otherwise its the same phone and there is no conflict with the software.
If someone with a X720 flashes a recovery from a a X727, they only need to flash their firmware and modem file (I guess) to return fully to stock as shipped. The same principle applies to the X727 flashing software intended for the X720
The firmware for both phones can be found here : https://sourceforge.net/projects/lineageos-on-leeco/files/firmware/ ( Posted by Codeworks)
The modem NON-HLOS.img files can be flashed ( But they are actually not really needed when the bands can be turned on manually)
Finally, a sincere thanks for your links.
Although several recoveries, and the original stock : EUI 5.8.21s_le_zl1.zip is already posted several times throughout XDA ( including my own full recovery) It never hurts to have more links available to us. Especially since over the course of time, these links are often broken; Especially on free server pages, or chinese Leeco pages. So it helps to refresh an old post, and keep these things current.
Only 1 link not works (source is 2 lines below it). Before it there was only QFIL or manual installation guides. It's just simply. Few people broken their phones.

I did the whole process, but when updating in stock recovery with "update.zip" gives error: corrupt.
I tested with 2 stock ROMs 17s and 28s.
Are you sure that you're using LEECO recovery and LEECO correct zipped ROM? You can't flash LeEco's ROM in TWRP and correct ROM should have files in main zipped folder.
Official ROM from LeEco website:
http://g3.letv.cn/266/27/29/scmauto..._LEX720-CN-FN-WAXCNFN5902607031S-5.9.026S.zip
Recovery is there:
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862668751
Get both of them, rename ROM as "update.zip", place it in main folder, then try to install stock recovery and trough stock recovery "update ROM". If it won't work, please make photo, i'll help you.
