[KitKat][4.4.2] CARBON ROM UNOFFICIAL BUILD

Thought I would explore other roms, really am enjoying features of this one. plenty of customization -halo, pie and others all built in

I installed it. Looks good at first sight.
I got following issues:
* The gapps 20140105 from http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Gapps don't work: After installing via CWM, a gapps installer is started which is immediately terminated. This happens in an endless loop.
* My app accessing the camera and putting an overlay has the wrong resolution. Also happens on other recent ROMs

I flashed gapps with philz touch (http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/p930) without any issues. I have had issues with TWRP and CWM, something to do with the kernel not being selinux I believe..
What app are you using with the camera ?

How is the performance of this rom.. I have flashed mokee versions but it's very slow.. I still on unofficial slimbeam.. For me is the best rom based on JB 4.2.2

I think it out performs mokee. I am using a different launcher though (Google's launcher). It is not perfect ,It is using the cm11 kernel so it is doing as well as that.. I am using it as my daily ROM.. Battery life is 24 hours or so.

Hey man im newly rooted on v10f gingerbread 2.3.6 and have just flashed CWM. i am wondering if i can simply jsut download and flash your rom straght from gingerbread? Or woujld I need to include any basebands with it to have service?

Straight flash should work.

A little unstable for me. Phone turns on by itself when phone is moved if phone is asleep for a while without touching the on/off button. BT issues but easy to reconnect (not automatically though).
Will try again after a few updates.

I ported it from some chinese developer, his name is not clear! It was in chinese and this was the only rom I could see that had a color os port working well.

Hi...
ROM tested working fine, only question is how to install Play store and Google apps. Please give GAAPS link or regular JB GAAPS zip will do the job.
I m only testing this ROM. Not using it as daily driver because it is JB based. Any way great work...credit to you and to your unknown Chinese friend....

SD card not detecting. I don't have a memory card. How to make default SD card as internal

@maxritz any new updates for this rom?
just loved it and mostly i love the feature of guest mode.try to port new firmwares or any updates.

yes , i have also faced the issue of booting.what i feel is ...it is due to xposed framework...coz when i uninstall the xposed....the rom is running fine and smooth....
yes it is based on 4.2 version but ....i can say, this is the best rom ...and it can also be more better if some bugs will be removed.
Some improvements which i have done in my phone is
-volume is much loud,i had reduced it through engineer mode.
-xposed installed but few modules are installed...there is no use of gravitybox.
-flashed jb gapps.
-copied some apps from different rom like calender,calculator,music,email etc.

I tried flashing this ROM, no issues, but from the first boot was all in Chinese. Is there something we can do about it, make it english? Screenshots would help.
Running LeWa OS and not very happy with it. I might flash the one with Hive as I need more RAM available on my phone. Thanks in advance

But let us first try the ROM once its online and then decide about it. @kin912 waiting for the link..

I try the baserom with carbon and cm11,both of them the camera is the same issus.And I found that carbon is more smooth,so I want to choose it,just give me some time to fix the last bug of port.

I'm looking forward to this, Kin.
I tried your previous release and although you surely did a nice porting work, everything seemed pretty unstable. For me, both in LB and UB, Wi-Fi barely worked, I couldn't get Mobile Data to work at all, and apps made ROM less smooth each minute the phone was on, until it couldn't stand such load and rebooted. Almost crazy for daily use.
I hope you can fix all that stuff and achieve an stable system this time. MIUI's a really nice ROM I'd love to have in my aoba. Cheers up!

in the version its written V 4.8.15 but still not sure if its the right one. Everything is in different language.
I see other links as well - 1. For Romaster and 2. MIUI lite. Are these required while installing??

Testing results so far....
1. Default Camera app gets stuck after clicking a pic. Sometimes java.lang.RuntimeException is encountered. Other camera apps works nice though.
2. Default Video Player app shows black screen for few videos. I guess it should be some codec issue.
3. While setting a new alarm if I tap on repeat option aap gets crashed.
4. Screen flickers sometimes
5. On Phone restart whatsapp shows date and time error which is very annoying
6. Rest UI is smooth as silk. Other apps like facebook, whatsapp, etc function normally.
Overall a good ROM. Much appreciated. Thanks a lot :good:

It will work. I have the black screen issue and the accelerometer and compass sensor issues.

Tried a dirty flash from CM but no dice. It gets to the launcher but then reboots after a few seconds.

Thanks! Yea a clean flash is recommended if your coming from another ROM. Also this doesn't work with deathly kernel yet but if you guys are interested iI can do some builds with it

4 wipe => flash bootstack => flash room and reset => flash gaap => reset and install some app from playstore
-one small error is facebook chat or flynx can't run on both rom flyme 4.5 and 5
- can you add option remove navigation bar and acction swipe from bottom oppen recent app ( useful )

does whats app work in this rom ?

I am having the same issue I had with the last time I used Flyme,I am unable to pass setup as it crashes whenever I skip the cellular setup. I use this device on wifi only. Is there a workaround? or a way to bypass setup? Settings is what crashes.

Had a problem on my F320k. While installing it has an error "assert(run_program("/system/bin/panel.sh") == 0);".
Any fix on this? Thank you.
Downloaded the other file from the other thread and now it's working on my F320k. Yet the camera FC's. I just used the imported LG camera app. :3
