I'm thinking to buy a new charger for my phone since it was broken. Do I need to buy the default (1A) or should I go to 1.5A?

AFAIK, the phone will only take a maximum of 1A. It doesn't help or hurt to go more though. So, if the 1.5A charger is cheaper, I'd go that route since you could then use it on other devices that require more juice ("future proofing").

Go with any Quick Charge charger. I personally have the Quick Charge 3.0 Aukey 2 port because I also have an HTC 10. I can tell you that it will charge the phone faster than the stock charger. The M7 has Quick Charge 1.0 technology but the stock charger wasn't a quick charge charger. With with a quick charge charger you can get a fill charge in a little over a hour 40 mins.
The HTC M7 is not on Qualcomm quick charger 1.0 compatibility list.

You might as well stick to original charge because fast chargers can mess up the battery.
b$ mate. Charging controller is in the phone, not in the charger. You can use even 100A charger, but phone will limit charging current go to the batter as it needs.

I've had a nexus 5x before and own a pixel table. Both come with USB C port to charge. So i bought a itian qc3.0 charger at that time. (http://www.gearbest.com/chargers-cables/pp_389793.html)
Now i changed to the lg g6, but it refused to do the 'fast charging ' when i use that chargers qc3.0 port and even says 'slow charging' when connecting to the usb c output.
Is it the combination that's just flakey or did they put something specific in the original charger that comes with the lg g6?
I'm bit lost on the topic of chargers currently, anyone care to enlighten me on what should could would work?
Lg g6 is picky I think

Works fine with my wife's charger from her Galaxy Note 4 as well. ? (Pretty sure that's a QC 2.0 charger as well.)
Does LG not provide a qc 3.0 charger with their own phone ??
Mine came with a MCS-H06UR charger.
Rated @ 9.0V 1.8A / 5.0V 1.8A
After a quick Google search I've had no luck ascertaining if this is QC 2.0 or QC 3.0.
From what I can tell, my phone charges as fast if not faster using the 5V/3A charger that came with my 6P.
From what I've read online, the LG G6 also supports USB-PD.

Shouldn't really get hot once it's fully charged?
The charger that comes with it is a quick charge 3.0 charger and can completely charge your phone from zero in less than 2 hours easily. You have to use the cord that came with it though, or at least one that is compatible. If you look at the icons, you will see a different one than the usual charging icon. Pulling down the menu shows something about fast-charging when its active.
My experience comes from the Sprint version.

i use one from Tylt each night since im always on-call. havent had a problem once.
None of my QC 3.0 charger fast chagrge my G6. The QC 2.0 chargers do.
I've bought a Choetech wall usb charger, QuickCharge 3.0 with its usb type-c cable, and when I plug it on LG G6, it says that there's fast charging.
https://amzn.com/B019Q5WT6W
I do not believe the LG stock charger is qc qc 3.0 compatible because its fixed mat output at 9v is 1.8a
qc 3.0 defines the max amps at each voltage level from 5v to 9v to 12v
I ended up buying anker qc 3.0 chargers for my car and for ac wall outlet. also bought their nice braided usb c cable. every combination yields a fast charger notification in the drop down and the ampere app confirms this. also watching the real time output is impressive from all these chargers.
the benefit to using a certified qc 3.0 charger is that the phone will tell it exactly what amps to deliver based on charge & temp.
further, the G6 has a heat pipe to help cool the entire phone including the battery, to help prevent a galaxy note scenario.
wireless charging is slow Qi spec and is NOT fast like samsung. however, slow charging over wireless is great for overnight.
I use anker's qi charging puck and it works great except I have to remove my case. same with the samsung fast charger puck. my wife doesn't have to remove the case on her S7 to do regular or fast charging. LG's design is obviously inferior for the Qi to pickup and activate the coil.
Today Amazon delivered also this Anker dual usb car charger (QuickCharge 3.0):
http://amzn.com/B01K9MQ8WW
and when LG G6 is connected it shows that is in fast charging mode.
Those who bought QC 3.0 charger and those who trying different cables with LG G6 charger, Try Cable from Oneplus 3, I get an improved charging of 10-20 minutes less compared to stock LG cable
The issue might be the cable you're using. I've had no trouble fast charging using an old ASUS QC 2.0 charger, or a cheap car QC 3.0 charger. Even when using microUSB cables with USB-C adapter tips, but I'm using decent cables (mostly Monoprice and Anker).
I've confirmed that the charger that came with my G6 is QC3.0 (model MCS-H06UR, UK 3-pin). Using a USB power meter, the voltage will increase from 5V to 9V in small steps. If I use a QC 2.0 charger (stock charger from Note4/S7edge), it will jump from 5V to 9V immediately.

I rather spend less money on a Quick Charge 2.0 wall charger than a 3.0 since the use case is to charge at the office. Ex. $10 for the SPN5864B

as i once wrote here https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus/accessories/chargers-t3584554
this charger http://www.gearbest.com/iphone-cables-adapters/pp_322054.html does turbocharge the g5 plus without issues
I have multiple QC2 and 3 chargers around the house, and they all work fine
they always will because TurboCharge is just rebranded QuickCharge
SPN5864A = success!
I purchased a SPN5864A Wall Charger with a SKN6461A usb cable for $7.49 USD on ebay - LINK
"Motorola DROID Turbo 1.6 Amp Rapid Home Wall Charger SPN5864A - Super Fast Rapid Charging Charger - 15W of power - 1.6 Amp charger. Will charge Motorola devices with Adaptive TURBO Charging technology built in at an even faster rate! "
While the lock screen did not show the words fastcharge or turbocharge; AccuBattery did show the night and day difference. Screen caps of the old 463 millamps (mA) vs new SPN5864A charger 1989 mA pasted below.
Guess I'll go with the SPN5864B
Any Samsung charger for one of their last 3 or 4 flagships should work just fine. I literally have a bag of Samsung chargers from the S5 and S7 that all have the same ratings and work to Turbo charge the G5 Plus just fine. I use the Samsung charger at home and leave the Turbo Charger at the office.
I have a Asus Zenfone 2 18w charger (9v 2a, 5v 2a) and turbopower works perfectly when charging the G5 plus with it (got around 2400mah readings on Ampere app). Just in case anyone has one laying around, it's an option.
We use these around the house and for travel and they all work as you would expect.

I can add links to the chargers if someone wants, I'm just too lazy to do it right now.
The Samsung adaptive fast charging brick works for me
Huawei FCP Adapter - Huawei own variation of QC 2.0 also Turbo Charge G5 Plus.
Just ordered Xiaomi 10000 Power Bank 2 link --> https://www.gearbest.com/power-banks/pp_492337.html?vip=4087096 <-- and Turbo Charge works fine as well.
I bought a genuine SPN5864A on eBay for 7$. It has performed as intended since I received it.
I want to buy a new charger so i want to know that 25w charger supported in our mobile? Its 25w 2.85A is it okay to do fast charge??
Or give me other suggestion or give me link where can i buy
Thank you
I can't tell, by your profile, in which country you reside, but in the US, there are many available.
If you have any fast chargers, left from other phones, with the USB-A connector, give them a try.
Besides the TURBO CHARGING toast message, I use the Ampere app to check the charging level.
This phone is not as picky, as the Nexus 6P, when it comes to fast charging. The 6P had to have a USB-C to USB-C cable and charger, in order to achieve rapid charging.
The Z2 Play is much more forgiving, in that it uses USB-A to USB-C cables, so more chargers are available.
The OEM wall charger charges at 2020mA.
The Tronsmart Qualcomm 2.0 charger,
model TS WC-IQ, with an output of 2 amps, purchased from Amazon, charges at 1440mA.
The IXCC model DCB-2U, with an output of 2.4 amps, purchased from Amazon, charges at 1420mA.
The Amker Power Port 4, model AZ142, with an output of 2.4 amps max, purchased from Amazon, charges at 1380mA.
The Okray charger, model WX-41,with an output of 2 amps, purchased from Amazon, charges at 1290mA.
I use the lower level chargers over night and the higher level chargers, during the day.
Done nights, I don't put the Z2 Play on a charger, at all, because I have just returned home from a drive, where the phone was charging in a nav dock. The phone is at 99 or 100% when I go to bed at 2200 and only down to 96% when I wake up at 0500.
M from india...so which is better company original chargee takes to much time to charge...so can i use 15w 3A or 25w 2.85A?which is better?

Have you tried it?
If not, why not?
Guess we will hear more about this later with ppl with the proper equipment to test this, but i'm just gonna base this off the phone notification.
I'm getting the same estimated charge time using my 30w macbook charger, 60w monoprice usbpd charger, 18w usb-pd anker power bank, as a standard adaptive fast charger I have in the house (15w i think?).
Meanwhile the 25w brick that comes with the phone cuts the time by about 10min or so vs the other options above.
I did read about the 45w situation to be tricky, but this is the first time i've heard about the 25w charger being special in this way.
Would love to see more tests and see if there are 3rd party solutions that can get the full 25w speeds, and maybe the 45w ones.
hopefully its not a oneplus situation where you can only get the best stuff from their own first party chargers.

Think you need the proper cable and proper PPS configs on the PD brick to get this working.

Yes you are correct. A special USB-C cable with an embedded chipset (E) is required along with special PPS. At this early stage I'm not certain many (if any) third party vendors meet these requirements. The only safe bet is the Samsung- branded one.
CONFIRMED !
i have a aftermarket 45w home charger and aftermarket 45w power bank.
both WONT charge at 45W, it charging like 15W.
when i plug in the stock 25w charger, it charging faster.
I have an Anker duel charger that has 45W USB C and a USB A. The USB C is rated at 45W and the USB A is rated at 15W. The 25W charges faster than the 45W. (at least what I am seeing)
Good info about the special cable. If we need a special cable... Where do we find it?
I do have to say, it charges fast with the 25W one.

Ill check mines when the phone comes later today.
But i do remember reading that it used a different voltage/amp set.
Which if the charger doesnt support it. Then it would default to the lower one.
I.e.
If your charger is 5v 9v 12v 15v
But the phone needw 10v
It would default to the 9v.
Cant remember where i read this. But was a prerelease testing
The safe way to go is to use the samsung official chargers, that are precisely tuned for this, I would not risk a brand new somewhat expensive device
What is this telling me? phone says fast charging.
Using an Amazon Basics 60watt PD charger.

yeah the phone claims it is rated for 10V at 4.5A and most 45W chargers use 15V at 3A, so likely to be nothing on the market fully capable of charging at super speed at the moment.
as for the USB cable it is a subset of USB 3.1 Gen 2, basically you need a cable with a chip in it, that chip allows you to break the 3A limit on standard cables. I've ordered this as I wanted a longer cable for my standard charger and should work with the 45W if I get it down the road. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B073RY5JZ3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

this charger:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TC53ZYD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
is not PPS but it does have 9 Volt at 3amps. i tested it with one of my note 10s and the ipad from 10%. im using a 60W anker brick for the ipad:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BQJWDRM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and the newer ravpower brick charged up much faster. again not pps (pdo) but it is fast in my less than scientific testing.

Hi there!
I just got my G7 Plus minutes ago, yiipppieeh.
On the charger that came with it I read "TurboPower", is this charger Quick Charge able and compatible?
I wonder if I can use this charger with a micro usb adapter with my older BBarry device.
Usually I think they deliver cheaper chargers with their phones that are not Quick Charge capable.
Thanks!

A charger can't send more juice to a device than the device can pull.
If your BB will only pull 2A (and I'm just using this number for an example, I don't know what your BB is rated at) then hooking it to the G7+ charger won't make it charge at 27A - it'll still be 2A.
That said, there's a benefit if your current BB charger is old and not putting out the amperage it used to then the G7+ charger would help.
You'll also need to factor in your micro USB adapter too - cheap ones might limit the amperage because of inefficiency, etc.
For RL experience, my family uses my TurboPower charger for their non-TurboPower phones and they charge normally.
Oh - for your G7+, it'll charge quick until 78% and then charge "normally".
