I don't understand why HTC can't incorporate video compression to send videos through their messaging app, without having to change the recording format to MMS. I thought the new messages app was based off of Google Messenger which lets you send any quality of video, iOS has had this for years. What does everyone use for sending videos over MMS?

I can see how you can compress pictures but I cant seem to work out how to trim videos like on previos SE models

is there a way to make Handcent compress the video? If I take a video I like the ability to take good quality, but when I do the videos are too large to be sent via MMS. Is there any way to fix this?
I try to send video clips that I make which are about 400 to 500kb via
text mms message and the phone compresses it to about 50 to 70kb which on the
other side look like crap, even I sent some to myself just to see the sent videos
are degraded in quality because of the compression.
How to send uncompressed video is my question.
Hendcent is doing it same thing compressing it and chomp can't even attach
400kb video telling me is too big. Please anyone help on this issue.
On my old iphone, HD videos recorded with the phone would be automatically compressed to be sent via text message.
On my Note 2 I can't seem to send ANY videos with the messaging app. I always get a size warning when attaching a video.
Does anyone know of a way to compress videos to send over mms? I do not want to record the videos in a lower quality resolution as this ruins the video for myself.
Does nobody send videos over mms?!
Maybe handcent or gosms would do this.

Try Vidcon from the play store. It's sort of like Handbrake for android, but much easier to use. Vidcon not only allows you to compress a previously recorded Hd vid but you can also change the format, among other things.
I also didn't want to record low quality vids on the chance that I might at some future point want to send it as mms. It is not free but the demo allows full functionally for 4 to 5 days. So you can see if it meets your needs. Hope this helps, and welcome to the android club.. ..

I think for now I will upload my videos to YouTube and send links to friends and family. Honestly it is a bummer to see that auto compression of mms videos isn't on my Note II.
Something not clear with Fold4. I had Flip3, my wife with iPhone 13 Pro sometimes sent pictures to erase objects on it (I really like the feature in the Samsung gallery). Used Skype, WhatsApp or Messenger. Photos always came in the same format and size as the original.
Now the question itself:
under the same scenarios on Fold4, photos arrive with reduced quality when sent, the photo is sent 2.5-3mb, and 615kb is already received on fold4. The settings have not changed. And I would understand if in one of the messengers, but so in all. Someone can check?
Got to be he source, not destination. Something on the source side is doing it, try just airdrop them over (get airdrop for Android)
