Quicksettings - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

Is there any way to change which icons appear on the quicksettings? Frankly I don't need a calculator in my settings and might like something else.

Same question here...
I especially miss the nfc-toggle button.

if you have root you can use xposed to change them. Or flash LeeDroid Rom. Or check out the mods being worked on in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/help/tuner-quick-toggles-customization-t3358811

go to setting.. cm setting.. user interface.. tweaks extras, select a theme
I did that but only the notification bar changes?

If the notification bar changed it means that at least the framework-res.apk was changed, so maybe the theme did get applied.
Sometimes you have to manually set the widgets and the icons in order for the theme to look similar to the screenshots.
Which theme are you trying to install?
Well I understand that part but I seen themes where the apps are different and indicator colors are always different ..for example bliss and inexus ..I found those on themselves and apps on this forum

App for toggles in notification bar?

Is there an app to put toggles in the pull down bar so I can customize what buttons are there? Thanks

Don't think so.
But most custom ROMs these days have it automatically built in.
And if they don't, there are usually flashable zips for it in the Themes/Apps section.
Widgetsoid does this. It's slightly buggy (ie: a popup with the widget comes up when you toggle something) and you have to have the widget on a homescreen. The widget can be invisible if you so choose but it still takes up space (I think, never tried it). If you have multiple launchers just put it on the one you're not using if you don't want it.
But yeah, it's a great toggle app & it's free. I used the notification toggles before I switched to cyanogenmod, now I don't need them but I still use the widgets.
By the way, you'll need to get the version named "widgetsoid 2.x*
Hope this is what you're looking for :]

Couple of q's
How do I get just an individual wallpaper for my lock screen rather than my normal wallpaper??
There's also a screenshot of someone's phone where there app icons are words,I know I change them as I figured that out in a different thread, is there a package for the word icons?

It is known that Sense UI doesn't allow custom lockscreen as it only provides the downloadable package from the HTC server.
The same thing applies to the stock launcher as well. You can't change the icon into words - unless you use third party app launcher and lockscreen such as Launcher Pro and WidgetLocker. By using this app, you can change anything you want, including what you have mentioned just now.
Both apps are available on the Market in free or paid edition.

You can do that on Sense 3.5 (in the personalize menu). I can't remember whether that option was there in 3.0 or below, so it might depend on what ROM you're using at the minute.
Thanks for the replys, sorted wallpaper now onto the widgets, thanks to All

Smaller Font in Messaging Conversations

I am REALLY struggling with this. I have installed a bunch of different SMS apps but prefer stock (use clipboard, LED function....) Any suggestions how I can do this? Turning the system font size down doesn't change my messaging conversation font. I would prefer to use the default sms app with the Note 2, but is there any way I can make the font smaller than what the volume keys allow me to do?
Even all the way down the messages are huge (I can only see 2-3 with the keyboard open) and like 8 without it open. For privacy reasons I'd also like it smaller so everyone around me can't read all my messages while it's open...
Try the app settings app in the xposed thread you can set the dpi or font to anything you want in any app

Never mind, I think I figured out that I would have to... hmmm may be the reason I root. That could be a slippery slope though

You need to be rooted to install the app but once the xposed installer is installed you can unroot and all the modules will still work. The per app dpi is well worth rooting for, you can have a lot of apps in tablet mode

Few Questions

Hi,
Just picked up the device today and I've rooted it and installed Xposed and managed to get it as close to AOSP as I can.
I was wondering what's the safest way to change the DPI is and if there's anyway to get the Android L status bar icons (battery, signal, WiFi, silent etc) and navigation bar onto the stock ROM?
I'd normally do a backup and dive into these things but I haven't got a custom recovery installed (as I can't seem to find any) so I figured I'd ask!
I was also wondering if I'm fine to update my device via OTA even though its rooted?
Thanks
Curtis
Textdroider for dpi has been the best for me. And I got the Android L nav bar by looking though the downloadable modules in xposed + changing the pressed colour in tweaksbox looks pretty close to Android L

Thanks, got it all sorted!
Any word on whether I can update via OTA whilst rooted?
Thank you
