Is it normal to experience a low static (white?) noise (like a black and white dot tv screen) when the other person speaks? When the other person is quite it is dead silent. My iPhone did not do this so I do find it quite annoying. The sound is also present during the beeps before the other person picks up.
Thats happens to me, i think its normal, but i dont know surely.

Hey Guys,
yesterday i recived a text message and as the notification sound played i noticed a loud background noise.
I never noticed that before, so its happening since yesterday. Everytime the rear speaker gets activated you can hear a very loud background noise, a hissing noise which ends with a loud click, when the speaker gets deactivated.
This happens everytime, incomming call, messages, dial pad sounds, music,...
(Running CM 6.1.1)
Anyone who knows what to do? Should i return the device?
A hiss? Sounds like the speaker is dammaged. Do you know anyone with the same phone? You can compair then. Or can your record a video of the sound & share the link here? That way we can tell you if its normal or not

Hi,
i allready asked one of my mates if he has got the same problem. But he hasn't.
I wanted to record it, but you don't really hear much of it, since the sound which is comming out of the speaker is nearly the same noise as the background noise of the recording.
I will mail my distributor to get a new phone.
When I plug in the headset in it's dead quiet but the minute I start dialing a number from the keypad I immediately hear like faint white noise. I even hear it when on a call, although again it's faint compared to the level of the call itself. Same thing with music although the music drowns it out. Can anyone else confirm the same.
I remember there being a link posted from Anandtech where they tested this phone with the inclusion of the Yamaha chip for audio and noticed this issue. Has something to do with the noise floor in relation to insufficient shielding.
When I used the headset for calls on the Sensation I had none of this, just wondering if anyone else has noticed this.
Thanks
I noticed the same thing... Its a bit distracting.... Since its a hardware
issue, I doubt we'll see a fix.
hi everyone, my lg g pro came briefly in contact of water, after quickly drying it, every thing was working normally as of before except during calls when i'm using headset, i hear a background static noise and i still hear the person at the other end but mixed with whistling and cracking, the thing is the static noise disappears when i use it normally without headset or when on speaker, also no noise when i listen to music or surfing the net though headset.
what i did i opened it, cleaned the inside including the motherboard with isopropyl, still the same problem.
please any help of any kind will be appreciated, as you all know the headset use is crucial and it's getting really annoying.
I just got my M8. I'm hearing a slight whitenoise static in the background during phone calls. Is this normal for this phone or should I look into exchanging it?
I exchanged my M8 for a new one and it also has white noise in the background of all phone calls. I've even tried muting both ends of the line and there is still static/white noise in the background. Does no one else notice this?
Hi guys. I wanted to see if others are getting a slight static or pop sound when people speak when on speakerphone. Please try calling this number +1 800-783-6112 and put your ear near the bottom speaker. Have the volume over 50%. Do you guys hear a weird static or pop sound when the automated answering service speaks? I promise it's not a spam phone number. It's North Shore Residential Door. I am not able to hear the static or pop sound during normal use since obviously my ear is normally not next to the bottom speaker. I was just wondering if this is normal for this phone. This happens when on normal phone calls as well when someone speaks and I put my ear next to the bottom speaker.
