Interesting
I think you can get rooted device using Phil's recovery. Works perfect on 4.4.2, I shure it will be no problem with 4.4.4.

try to use chainfire's CF Root one for 4.4.2 on 4.4.4, it should work just fine since there's not much differences between 4.4.2 and 4.4.4
we will have problem rooting if we get 5.0 as there's none at the moment....
Any success in rooting n5100 official 4.4.4 rom?
Couldn't you just flash a custom recovery through Odin and then flash Super SU in recovery?
I need confirmed step by step solution for 4.4.4. Don't want to brick my n5100.

That only works on the development version. The retail Verizon and AT&T phones have no permanent root solution on any Android version. On the Verizon stock 4.4.4 kit-kat there is a temp root, but reverts back to no root after a reboot.
I have a rooted d852 on lollipop and am looking for a way to upgrade to marshmallow but want to keep root, is there anyway to do this

I don't think there is.
But i think there are some pre rooted kdz files.
Would it be possible to downgrade an unlocked/S-off M9 to Kit Kat 4.4.4?
