constant gmail issue, will not open "Unknown issue with Google Play Services"
Gmail will not open. "Unknown issue with Google Play Services" keeps popping up. If I uninstall the updates for Google Play Services, gmail will work. However, in a few hours after it updates itself gmail will stop working again.
Try uninstalling Gmail or remove Gmail account(s) and then add them back. I have not seen this myself, just throwing out ideas.

Uninstalling Gmail didn't work. I'll try removing the account and adding it back.

I have tried syncing my contacts today because I noticed the newest one hasn't shown up on my google account yet, but for some darn reason the phone freezes for a bit and shows "Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped."
In sync settings I only have Sync Contacts checked, nothing else. If I sync other things I don't have any issues.
When in sync settings and I check and uncheck the box it will sync in 2 seconds, when I sync it again it will do so for 30 seconds, the error will pop up and close itself then stop syncing. In accounts and sync it will freeze for a while and show the popup which I have to close myself.
My phone is rooted running 4.0.3. I also have ~5000 contacts (that includes g+,facebook,numbers,emails)
What can I do to fix this? It's getting on my nerves.
Clear the data for your google contact within settings. See if it helps.

I've cleared data for Google Service Framework, Google Contacts Sync and cleared dalvik cache.
Which one is the Google contacts app? Contacts Storage? Won't clearing it erase all my contacts??
Back up the data first. I had a similar problem before when my contact storage reached over 1 GB, which is bogus, caused by program bug. Clear the storage solved my problem.
Contacts can be back by you're google account, if you have one

Appreciate if someone could give me a hand here.
The Play Store of my My One X stopped working a few days ago. It just could load up and asked me to sign in with a gmail account.
After numerous sign in and failure, I removed my gmail account and add it again. Despite clearing data in the Play Store app and rebooting my phone, it just wouldn't sign in with my gmail.
Any ideas?
Titanium Backup should fix your play store issues. Download app via pc then transfer to your phone. In the menu it should give you some play store repair options.
I often get an error "Unfortunately, Exchange Services has stopped". I have disabled "Email" app but use "Gmail" app. Is it happening because of this?

Just received my phone from Aliexpress. I removed all of the Baidu references, ASUS store, and Chinese references, etc... then manually added google and updated play store, etc... For some reason, even after adding, removing and re-adding my google account, none of my google contacts will show in the "contacts" app. I confirmed that the check box to sync is checked and it says it succeeds but nothing shows except "me".
Any ideas what's going on there ?

open contacts and click contact to diplay,then tick google contacts[default is unticked i guess]

I solved mine issue by going to google installer and installing Google contacts sync
So when I try to view my linked google accounts my settings crash. It wasn't an issue till someone linked a new account to my phone and now its complaining about log in. It just sits on a blank screen till it says settings has stopped. Other accounts can be motified, just not a google account.
After some detective work and boredom I have figured out that the specific problem I have is related to google service update. Uninstalling all updates from the google service on my phone solved the issue. But I have to have it updated to use inbox. I was able to remove the account however.
