Hello, would ask if there is a way how you can change the boot splash if yes then how?
Is there a generator or you have to perform the manual?

I am already Unlocked, S -OFF , rooted and SuperCID.

NO please NO.....You might even brick the phone ! If the partition layout is different you flash the completely wrong one and the phone may never boot again !!!
Never use something provided for another device !!!

Ok, thanks.

Hey, I just wanted to tell you, I successfully flashed a custom splash screen! I did it manually because I'm used to work with cmd/shell ... Maybe there's a pal out there who's wrapping it into a little script.
All you need is ffmeg (get it on https://ffmpeg.org) and a picture of your choice (resolution 1440x2560, 24bit bmp).
Put both files in a folder, open cmd and convert image using "ffmpeg -i <<NAME.OF.INPUTFILE.bmp>> -f rawvideo -pix_fmt rgb565 splash1.nb"
This will create a file splash1.nb that we can now flash. To do so, connect the device and boot it into bootloader (not download mode). Wait till you see device connected (check via fastboot devices) and now flash file using "fastboot flash sp1 splash1.nb" ... Et voila, you should see the magic word "success" and your new bootsplash on reboot.

The How to Flash BootScreen .NBH Image to Your Phone Guide

Hello,
The reason why anyone would do this is for example - I installed the Rogers WM6 but preferred the HTC BOOTSCREEN Image - hence why i personally did it. I did not like Rogers BootScreen Images as they take too long to boot as well as the bootscreen image in the Rogers WM6 used to load after the Green Windows Mobile Screen and on power-up, it used to have a black screen instead of the bootscreen image which to me did not seem practical as I rather see that the phones turned on right away than wait till the Windows Mobile screen loads. I've successfully flashed HTC Bootscreen image using the following steps. I had a member ask me how to flash .nbh files to phone. I'm talking specifically about the bootscreen .nbh images. In order to flash .nbh boot screen images - you have to flash through USPL. Here's how to do it -
1) Firstly, Download all required files that is
a) USPL CID -BYPASS
b) RUU
c) SDA APPLICATION UNLOCK
d) BOOTSCREEN IMAGES(IT CONTAINS HTC, ROGERS AND TMO BOOTSCREEN IMAGES)
2) Copy/Paste RUU File that is ExcaIMG_USPL_1110000unsigned.nbh to the desktop.
3) Copy/Paste ANY of the preferred BOOTSCREEN IMAGE (i.e. for example HTC.nbh) to RUU directory
4) Right Click ExcaIMG_USPL_1110000unsigned.nbh and Select Rename - Press Ctrl + C to copy file name
5) Head over to RUU and Right-Click HTC.nbh, Select Rename - Press Ctrl + V to copy over existing file name.
6) Once you're done this, REMOVE SD CARD AND REBOOT PHONE
7) Once done, APPLICATION UNLOCK YOUR PHONE IF IT HASN'T ALREADY BEEN APPLICATION UNLOCKED - YOU HAVE TO RUN SDA APPLICATION UNLOCK.
8) Now, Run USPL, Make sure you follow proper instructions as this is the main thing - if everything done right, you'll see screen goes into dim black with penguin and green messages, wait until you see the screen turns white then go to active sync and disable usb connections.
9) After this, run RUU and it'll use the re-named file which is the boot screen image to update the boot screen image. It will take max. a minute or two.
10) Once done, I think you see the tri-color screen but there won't be a cold boot - It'll reboot i think and go directly to the main screen.
11) Reboot and see if you see the preferred boot screen image.
For now, I'll post HTC, TMO and Rogers Boot Screen Images. We should still try as a group to create Custom Boot Screen .nbh files. If someone who know's how to make it, please share in this discussion.
Also, Does anyone know how to bring back the "Vibrate" mode during startup and shutdown?
Good Luck ! Post any concerns or any questions
NOTE: Please follow proper instructions, otherwise it won't work. If i'm missing anything, please let me know as I did this flash yesterday and I'm writing the guide today. Also, YOU HAVE TO FLASH THROUGH USPL - IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOUR PHONES CID UNLOCKED OR NOT.
Credits go to da_mayhem for uploading the images.
sweet, thanks... I'll try this later tonight after i get home from work... or tomorrow
woohoo, sweet... thanks for the guide lukybandit.
On step #2, you'll want to "Cut/Paste" if you copy, it leaves the original file in the folder, so renaming the HTC.nbh isn't possible unless you delete the original file.
also, step #8... DEFINATELY make sure you disable USB connections, i tried without and it didn't work...
However you're supposed to do that for WM6 rom updates also, but i never have, and haven't had a problem... until now that is.
Change HTC Splash Screen
Hello,
How to change the HTC splach screen which appears just after powering on the device?
I tried a lot of tools but I did'nt found one which works. Is it because the Excalibur screen is 320x240 instead of 240x320?
Does someone knows how to do?

I am talking about the first one, which is in the NBH file as a NB file. I don't manage to make a good NB file in the right format to flash it using RUU.

No one knows how to make a NB file that contains the splash screen? The default HTC NB file begins with "this is smartphone signature".
i changed my shutdown screed with resci explorer but to change the start up screen the htc screen and the freen windows mobile screen i want to get rid of those ugly screens
any1? a little help lol just want to change the start up splash screen any1 know how
You can use nbimg, to convert from NB to BMP.
For excalibur you'll need to use the following syntax:
Code:
nbimg.exe -F MainSplash.[nb|.bmp] -w 320 -h 240 -n
Also you'll need to add the "this is smartphone signature" manually to the generated NB file (using an hex editor). Maybe I'll add support for doing this automatically if there's a need. PM me as I'm not following the thread.
just saw on another thread how to create a .nb file from a .bmp .... i placed this here because apparently luky got the tmo and rogers .nbh files which have the mainsplash.nb files in them. need to know how to take the .nbh files he included and replace the mainslpash.nb and mainsplash.bmp files with the ones i created
heck i'll even upload the images here if someone wants to show me what to do
i was able to get the .nbh file created but when i flashed the phone with that file the first screen now looks like a green gradient image and not the image i put in the .nbh file
thanks for this man much appreciated.

Custom Boot Images For Dummies

CAN I GET A STICKY I THINK THIS THREAD HAVE HELP ALOT OF PEOPLE AND I NEVER BEEN STICKY BEFORE LOL
This is updated with the lastest tool. (Windows)
I included a zip with all files you may need at the bottom of the post.
1. Turn off your phone
2. Turn on the phone into bootloader (camera+power).
Make sure it say fastboot in the middle if not hit back and it should appear-
3. Make sure your device is found in device manger
If you don't see adb device up top in device manger find the yellow mark devices
Right Click, update driver, and point to the location of the USB Driver
(http://dl.google.com/android/android_usb_windows.zip)
4. Open and extract the below zip to your desktop
You should now have a custom and fastboot folder on your desktop
5. Open up a dos window (start>run>CMD)
6. Type cd desktop then cd fastboot
7. If you would not like to flash the sample images skip to step 9
8. copy and paste the command line by line
fastboot flash splash1 mysplash.rgb565
fastboot flash splash2 mysplash.rgb565
fastboot reboot
Part 2 Making your own images
9. Open up the "create" folder
10. Run CreateG1Splash.exe
11. Open up your image in the program and click convert
12. Goto the folder of your images and their you will find mysplash.rgb565
13. Place the mysplash.rgb565 into the fastboot folder
14. copy and paste the command line by line
fastboot flash splash1 mysplash.rgb565
fastboot flash splash2 mysplash.rgb565

To the OP, you can grab that file from the SDK tools folder and include it in the zip.
Ok, so I downloaded this: http://graha.ms/androidproxy/AdbWin.zip
I put those 2 files in the fastboot folder and it worked! Thank you aron4588!!!
And here is a mirror to your file with those two files added: http://www.4shared.com/file/78814404/36e59544/Boot_images.html
Success
I was able to do it, but quick question.
How many splash images can I have?
I was able to flash 2 over and it boots the first one (splash1) and then the second one (splash2)
How far can I go with this?

there is no original splash2. splash2 isn't used on the G1s (until you flash something to splash2 yourself). The splash sequence is
splash1 (The G1 screen)
splash2 (doesn't get displayed until/unless you flash something there yourself)
animated android screen
Thanks for clearing that up Expert i was looking in the sdk where do you find the splash file at

Android eating Apple splash image

Hey all,
Just made a splash image that I think you guys might appreciate. My friend showed me the picture and I decided to do the necessary changes to make it into a splash.
For your viewing pleasure
To flash: Download the zip then with an unlocked (S-OFF) bootloader, flash the new_splash.img file to your phone:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash splash1 new_splash.img
fastboot reboot
i would rather have it as a background
my boot image shows 1 micro second. not worth even thinking about changing it.
Well the png is there too so u can use it as a background I guess

Some kind of bloody :-D but looks great, although I'm running a MacBook bit I also love my Android mobile.
Does it work to flash this lb other Android systems like 2. 1/ 2. 2k any experiences?
Thx guys
sent from my DEFY using XDA App
This is just a splash image file so as long as your screen size is 480 x 800. You can search for how to change the splash image for your particular phone and then just use this file. I'm sure it will work on any version of android
Anyone have the adb commands handy for pulling the stock splash image just in case I want to put it back?
This is a copy of the original splash that I found in another thread.
did that last attachment post?
lets try that again. this is the default splash.

Even though the original splash is posted, the commands to pull the old one are to be executed from a root shell and are as follows:
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p19 of=/mnt/sdcard/splash.img
You may have to do a search for it because when I pulled mine it put it into a random folder on my computer

[Q] Ok, now we have S-OFF, NOW how do we change the HTC Splashscreen?

Finally we have S-OFF - which is said to allow us to finally change the annoying HTC Splashscreen???
Now could someone in the know explain how its done? Are we talking ADB Push + Pull? or some other way? A Guide would be great - as well as exact Requirements - I figure it should be 240x320 - but is it a GIF / BMP / TIFF / JPG - can it be a moving Gif..? Please help a guy who's tired to death of the HTC logo on white background.
As far as i know, the HTC splashscreen (not the bootanimation.zip) rely in the bootloader. If you want to change the first splashscreen, you need to decompile or something to change the splashscreen deep inside the bootloader.
correct me of im wrong.
fastboot flash splash1 insert_splash_name_here.img
from command under your sdk folder with .img inserted
pretty easy
example ?
http://alpharev.nl/
dload the alpharev Qvga splash and flash that
end up with this

[TOOL][Linux] Splash Screen creator / flasher

Hello there! I am re-posting this from the Mytouch 3G thread which can be seen here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6507176#post6507176
I have made some slight modifications in order to make this work on the HTC G2 (vision).
This is a HTC G2 tool to easily convert images in splash screen ones.
This tool is based upon ffmpeg and you need it installed on your system before proceeding (it will prompt you about the program missing in any case)
REQUIREMENTS
ffmpeg installed on your system
Code:
$ sudo apt-get install ffmpeg
a 480x800 image
a 480x800 device (i.e. HTC G2) with engineering SPL (s-off)
USAGE
Code:
./ElegosSplashCreator.txt --help or -h
Prints out how to use the script
Make sure that the script and image you are converting are both in the same directory that you are in in the command line (Terminal)
Code:
./ElegosSplashCreator.txt your_image_file
Converts your image into a flashable splash screen, if you want the script will continue flashing the file directly.
I ASSUME NO RESPONSABILITY ABOUT THE USAGE OF THIS SCRIPT. USE IT "AS IS", LOOK AT THE OUTPUTS AND YOU'LL AVOID BRICKS!
Please, if you wish to redistribute this script, give the right credits and don't change the prog_header please (maybe link this discussion in a text file)!
Make ElegosSplashCreator.txt executable permissions (right click on file and go to Properties > Permissions, then make executable) and use it!
Here's mine, feel free to post your own folks
Flash these Splash Screens at your own risk. It is not my fault if you have a faulty usb cable or computer, or accidently unplug your phone while flashing! But the chance of a soft brick is very small
Fastboot images to flash in fastboot:
Here is a .zip attached below with all these splash screens ready to flash in fastboot with pics that match the names of each image to flash
How to flash: fastboot flash splash1 name.raw565
Thanks mate! I used your thread a long way back and rewrote the script (for my personal use only, didn't put it up) to work with the g2, but I lost that way back when
This will come in handy, I need a new splash screen

No worries, I just uploaded the flashable splash screens they are the same same size as my device. I also attacked the script to the main post.
There is an app called bootflash pro in the market that will flash and jpg as your splash. I'd recommend that you have the pics at 480x800.
Works for me all the time.

This is not a app this is a linux script but thanks for the tip. The splash screens I already posted are 480x800 and the script is already set to convert any images (not just jpg) to splash screens 480x800. It's not recommended to have them as 480x800 but it's a requirement! If you don't have them set to the right size the script will not convert the images because it could brick your phone flashing a wrong size image.
