So my question is:
Is there away to get the s6 to look and function like an s6 edge?
The reason i ask is because i had an s6 edge for about a week and i hatted it... not software wise mind u but the edge screen was so anoying, every time i did anything one-handed the palm of my hand would oppen a random app in the side bar. I like the layout of the home screen and would like it on my s6 mostly the sidebar without the bottom screen shortcuts.

You can flash an S6 edge ROM. Just install S6 kernel afterwards and perform the touch panel firmware update and you can get all the S6 edge features. Some don't work though cause of the lack of extra screen space.

Ah. Then you're pretty much out of luck. I mean what features are you looking for exactly? Some of them can be recreated by making an app.

I'm actually quite stumped now.. Grr. Lol. It shrinks the window, but not the content. I'm thinking somewhere in framework.jar, am.jar, services.jar or android.policy.jar may hold the key. I might wipe my phone and try and test the jars from the edge plus ROMs.

yep. so far only buddy pages are missing (I wonder if that can be implemented)
I feel stupid now. I never used one thinking I'd lose the spen and multiple apps.
I've noticed you can't use the 4x4 Samsung Calender widget either
You also lose draw-able screenshots without stock launcher. The first thing I might really miss. =/

Custom-shaped screen shot works fine on mine on Nova, even with custom DPI.
Odd, mine "thinks" like something is happening, but nothing happens after that.
Edit:
OK so it is working, saving the image...but isn't it supposed to pop up and key you edit/save it and then have the option to share it? Maybe I accidentally turned a setting off.

im having the same issue as you. Cut out image is not working properly. Im on Note Cards V2.0 with Go Launcher Ex. When i was on JellyBomb it was working fine.
The images are created and saved, but that nifty edit & send pop-up is gone. Perhaps an apk is missing. I'll report as soon as I learn more

Side-loaded first apk, now the phone knows when s-pen is detached and reattached but 2nd app (from the Market) is a little goofy. I can get it to either put a link to Papyrus in the status bar when pen detached, or do nothing. Neither is very helpful.

This is actually pretty cool. I'm on cyanogenmod and I hated how the spen didn't vibrate when it was detached. Now with these apps it vibrates and shows a detached notification plus makes the same sound when detaching(if you have the stock sound files). The third app is nice but it's kind of slow/laggy when you slide it out. I uninstalled it because it made my phone seem slow. If they fix that I will download again

MIUI is sort of a combination of the two. I don't know how they do it exactly but MIUI is the only ROM I've found that has features from both TW and AOSP.

And the second one was made for Samsung based ROMs so there were a few UI changes needed to be made. If you update it now it should work fine.

If you could make an app that let's me use HDMI out on the phone, i could say goodbye to Touchwiz forever!!
Both apps now working great! Removing S-pen now turns on the display and opens Papyrus instantly, and closes it when pen is reinserted.

Just added some pictures so you guys can have an idea of what I'm talking about!

O.k. let me put it this way: is there a setting to turn that big box or square into just a glowing animation or maybe nothing? I don't want to root yet and even though I love the Google now launcher (just upgraded from a Nexus 5) I like the G3's launcher features. So my goal is to explore and enjoy the stock launcher as much as I can, beside, LG with their new UI has giving me the feeling that being skinned is not so bad after all...

Exactly my point! Thank you for understanding my question! Anyway apparently there's no way to change that other than rooting or with a different launcher... Problem is that I like the G3's launcher and don't feel like rooting

Your welcome I also like the launcher and use it but I am indeed rooted and have done some nice things through it, mostly with G3 tweaksbox. But do you know how I can change this box thing with root access without using another launcher???

Personally I don't. I've read about it, don't remember where though. I don't have anything against rooting, is just that I change my phone very often. The last phone I kept for 2 years, rooted and flashed roms was a droid 2 lol. I used to love it!

I just rooted the G3, got myself the G3 tweaks box, have done some customization but haven't been able to get rid of the visual feedback when you press an icon-app on the home screen (see 1st post attachments for pics).
Is there a way to get rid of the feedback or just change the animation with tweaksbox?
Now that I'm rooted I'm willing to try other methods as well. As long as is not flashing a Rom or some crazy mods since I like the G3's UI.

A couple of new betas but no fix yet. I've even themed( just a few things cause I love the g3s theme) my phone using the g3tweaksbox, love it! I knew it was a great app since the beginning so I went for the paid version. @P_Toti is very busy working on his new official release but if my request is in that launch a donation will occur.

What it does is ones you activate it, it will place a trigger on your screen and with it you can easy access any placed apps from one of the five (paid, three if free version) positions.
Easy and clean design and alot of customisation for the trigger.

Well, the thinget with people edge is that it can only be turned off from within settings. And not something that I can force. So right now, no sorry it does not but I like having one app with contacts and one for my apps
Nice effort, but I too has the same problem as jaythenut, went to add stock clock as first shortcut and the widget stopped working.

Guys, i found the problem and fixed it. Im currently waiting on it being uploaded to play. It might take a few hours, 2-4 i guess.

Great idea I was looking for an app that utilizes the s6 edge. I was wondering if you would be implimenting a blur effect once it's open similar to the people's edge on the s6, support for icon packs, and also support folders as well.

On my Note 9, when I would use the air command it would open the apps in a circle/fan. On my Note 10 it's opening in a straight line, and I feel it isn't as usual and a bit more tedious to get to things. Is there any way it can be switched back?

Agreed circle was much better. Have to move my whole hand now rather than just the pen.
My head is spinning. You can always try loading the old apk if you really want to go nuts...
Also, once the phone gets UI 2.5, the Pentastic app/Goodlock module has a lot of customization for the S-Pen shortcuts layout.
I.just installed the pentastic module, yes, now the air command can be a circular one, but, it is small ! Although it looks better than the vertical one, the size does mot look right, well, imo
