[Q] TW4.5Launcher Theme

Ok, I know there are a lot of threads with TW4.5 themes in the international GSII forums but I haven't been able to get any of them to work on our version...I was wondering if anybody had a link to something that has worked or the desire to port some of them.
I love this launcher, it's still got all of the functionality of stock TW but some cool features..so I'm trying to avoid going back to golauncher or LP to get a full theme...Really I just want to get rid of the darn Touchwiz icons in the dock, but one of the only things TW4.5 doesn't let you do is choose custom Icons. Anybody offer some help?

So you don't know where to find it? Or are you just looking for themes too...I can post a link to the launcher if you need

Just in case someone needs launcher!!!(tw 4.5
THIS IS HOW YOU GET TW 4.5!!!!....DOWNLOAD" TW Manager and place in a folder on your SD card...Now go into the folder you downloaded to and INSTALL TW MANAGER....Once you download that file you should then have TW 4.5 NOW instlled...Go to your HOME Button and bring up the menu..You will see the NEW TW installed here ..Click on it and ENJOY!!! DONT FORGET TO ...HIT MY THANKS BUTTON IF I HELPED IN ANY WAY!!!Also...here is the files you need if you cant get it from the MARKET....TW MANAGER is all you need..Once you install that file you should automatically have TW 4.5 in your HOME MENU!!! THANKS!!!!

install tw4manager .apk and go into MENU>THEMES and you'll find two themes in there that work, Minimal and PurityFS!

Well, when I last checked under themes there were none...now there's 6 but none of them are called minimal or purify...strange...I updated them from the menu button under themes, and updated both the launcher and manager but still not there

I'm not sure about the launcher.apk he linked, but for me all I did was install the manager.apk file and then find it in your app drawer "TW4 Manager", open then look under "check for updates & uninstall" then click latest stable version to get the newest one they have for release. Then you have to get to the launcher through the traditional channels (press home soft key, then if you're using a 3rd party launcher it will tell you to clear defaults (found in applications -> manage applications in main settings menu), or if using stock TW I believe it will just open up the typical window when there are multiple programs to complete the command, then click on the one you want)

Thanks ... few moments later i just did a nandy and got froggy ... no worries. However, noticed quite a few issues w/ tw4.5 b .. mainly dock + lack of theme that is about it. Other than she's singin like shes sung

Yeah, it's not perfect...but ultimately I'm surprised it's as good as it is considering the other options (LP, Go, ADW, etc.) that are probably a team of people doing full-time dev. I switched back to Golauncher EX because it's what I'm comfortable and it just used the screen better...smaller dock icons and better customization. I would love to keep some of the TW features though, and if there comes some nice themes for TW4.5 I'll be back.

Are you using Starburst Rom? If so, you may need to define which app is supposed to be opened with that button. If you are on starburst, go to menu, settings, lockscreen settings (at very bottom), overall ui settings, then click "long press search button app" and choose what you want to happen. Hope that's all that's wrong...I never had any unusual fc's on tw4.5 while I was using it.

Dutch, what flashable kernel would you reccommend ... looking for smooth performance and good battery life. Slightly speedy and devoid of bumps (to give an idea of what i'm lookin for .. 1 being the highest priority 3 lowest)
1 Speed, 2 Stability, 3 Battery. must have CWM 5.0.2 ..just looking for insight

Sorry about not responding sooner...been focused on the development threads and completely forgot about my own
I'm using LoStKernel Experimental and it has worked pretty well. I've been without a Loss of service since it's been installed (KNOCK ON WOOD). It's pretty quick and from what I can tell it does allow for overclocking. I'm not sure on this...but my SetCPU app says my phone has been at 1.4 GHz for a good amount of time and it must allow under clocking because it says I've been at 500 GHz for most of the time (that's my "screen off" setting).
Ultimately the under/over clocking would appeal to you for both speed & battery life. Stability might suffer a bit from this kind of thing BUT I haven't experienced any stability issues with the LoStKernel exp....that's not to say you won't because each piece of hardware is different and each persons app load and usage is completely different.
I have used the stock kernel, Zedo's 1.6 OC'd kernel, and most recently the LoStKernel, just for info.

ok so i downloaded the tw4launcher.apk & it seems to be functioning on my G4ET but I want to make the 5 dock icons but when I attempt to go change them nothing happens? what am i doing wrong? plz help!!!

I thought the development on TW 4.5 stopped after version 21 and its not supported anymore, if it is can you send me the link,I loved that launcher on my Droid Charge

Yes I have noticed the same issue, but overall this is pretty amazing for an "alpha"

I think I found a bug. Adjusted screen brightness a bit, then the half screen turned black xd factory reset via recovery and now I'm in bootloop

This is great. My tablet seems like its new. I have had no issues so far and it runs amazing. Eager to see the updates as they come out.

Spotify and play music when lockscreen
The spotify dosent play any music, and the google play music app stoo playing when lockscreen.
Other music apps like dfx player doesn't work neither.
Also, the pepole app work only on portrait mode

Build 12/6 has an issue with video such as youtube and vevo.....just wont play at all.

If you have problems, you may need to do that. Please try to provide logs first though!

Superuser request pop-up doesn't detect any touches
I'm on the 12/09/14 nightly and none of the options on the superuser request pop-up, including "Deny" and "Grant", are detected when touched. I tried using a USB mouse and got the same result. I was able to grant root permission with the SuperSU app, however.
Does anyone have any suggestions? This seems like a bug, but I don't know.

EDIT: This issue was due to the "Tapjacking Protection" option in SuperSU. Disabling that option fixed the issue.

When Is CM 12(LP) Coming To Sm T325?
Recently developer Crpalmer has made cyanogenmod 12 working with Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 WIFI( SM T320)...But no news for the lte version? I am observing that there is quite less development going on for the lte version,But why? I am seriously waiting for the cyanogenmod to come for the lte version.

Are crpalmer's links down for anyone else?

A cm11 does exist, a cm12 does not. Yet. Be patient, support may come. Its like for me with the moto msm8960 family. The main branch got support so far, and those of us on a jbbl are waiting for the main branch to become more stable before development happens. Probably the same thing thats going on here

What is everyone's battery life like with this tablet? Mine doesn't seem to be that great. The stand by time isn't very good. I came from a Nexus 10 and it had great stand by time.

I have on my battery for a little over 1 day and CM12 on this thing projects 1 day and 12 hours remaining.

Battery life isn't that great yet.

Google Play denying all payment methods
I am using cm12 build 12/16/2014 and Google apps build 12/12/2014. Google Play is denying all payment methods. It is working on my other devices, so I know the payment methods are good. Any ideas?

I'm having four kernel wakelocks under the "event 0-706, 1-706, 2-706, 4-706" titles, for about 21% of unplugged time, 1.5% drain per hour under sleep.
Good? Bad?

My tablet seems to think it is a phone. All the ui elements are extremely big, huge on screen buttons, stuff like that.
Is this something that can be changed in settings?

Double tap buttons
Is it possible to enable double tap for the the recents and back buttons as well as home? This is enabled in slimkat and it's great, it solves the problem of accidentally hitting these buttons when holding the tab in landscape mode.

How can I port LineageOS

Can someone tell me how to create LineageOS 14.1 or 13 for this crappy SM-T210 :laugh: I've collected some info and I readed this page http://web.archive.org/web/20161224192644/[url]https://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Doc:_porting_intro[/url] many times, but I still don't understand everything. There's no information about software or OS that I need. It will be nice if someone tell me step by step how to do this. This tutorial works only if your target device already has a fork on github.
I have been trying to port GT-N5120 to SGH-I467M, both are variants of the Samsung Note 8.0 tablet (not phone), with no luck.
I can easily build a ROM for GT-N5120 without problems. I have also grabbed proprietary blobs from SGH-I467M, and it would compile again and install OK, but some pieces are still as broken as without the proprietary blobs, e.g. Bluetooth.
I am completely baffled by why it is so difficult to port from one Note 8.0 to another especially Bluetooth doesn't seem to be the difference between these two devices.

Now my Question is: Is it only me or anyone else having problem with tmobile variant device, that have no audio and mic on phone app and in-call.
It only happens with custom ROMS. I did search for solution, before posting this thread.
I came up with two zip files under the name audio fix for tmobile on 7.0 OS. But those didn’t work. instead one of the zip caused boot loop. SO, that being said, is there an ANGEL!!!! to help me with this problem. I really want to use custom ROMs or atleast cleanest / lightest STOCKED ROM.... thank you in advance for reading and responding to my thread.

Your not the only one having this issue. Apparently the call libraries (or something like that) are different for T-Mobile variants of the s6 edge plus. I ran into the same issue when I first got this phone. What you need to do is look for custom ROMs who offer explicit support for SM-G928T. I started a thread on the issue a few months ago. On there I put a list of ROMs that have working call audio with no add ons. Feel free to check it out if you'd like.

Cuz it's "options".. No one can say "why not this/that one..??" Now ppl have a selection to see for themselves, find out which one they like or prefer.. How many other devices have such a large selection? Not many, if any besides maybe the Warp Sync N9515 have as many ROM options.. Some will stay updated, depending on the ROM teams, many won't. So from here the question becomes: Which do ya like the most?? I'm finding new ROMs here and there, each with it's own tweaks and benefits. Most we wouldn't have known about cuz most ppl just build the same 5 ROMs per device.. Just throwing it all out there

I tried out Orion and I'm really loving the performance of it. ONLY thing I wish it had was to move the Recent list "clear all" button to the bottom to be always visible. Suppose there is no way without having another ROM that offers that to get it? I chose Orion because it seemed to be the most tweaked and had newer commits to it. Battery is great and it is way snappier than stock.

Many of the ROMs are really great, some have tradeoffs but Orion is nice and Slim with a few extras. Great to hear, Thank You. Working on some more now..

- OP updated with addition of IncipientOS & XenonHD ROMs, they both have August 5, 2018 Security Patch.
- Updated builds of Candy ROM, CrDroid, Lineage, MoKee with August 05, 2018 security patches.. ENJOY!!

can you tell me if these roms include the native hotspot mod that usually comes with cyanogenmod and various others? i've noticed that people seldomly list this as a feature anymore, yet it's excluded pretty frequently as well... i haven't been able to get the provisioning thing in build.prop working on all the devices i've used, so i look for a rom that includes it whenever i can.

Yes it does have hotspot & all should be well, so long as you don't touch the build.prop on these Owens devices

every last mother lovin' one of these roms you've ported has it? holy ... jackpot. you're a freakin' wizard, i guess. i don't understand why it's considered acceptable that a carrier can dictate what you do with the hardware and the bandwidth you've already paid for anyway really. there's something really fishy about charging people once for bandwidth, then a second fee stacked on top of that because of what we do with it. seems like it should be none of their business. i mean, people don't tax them for all their data-mining bloatware that's effectively stealing the bandwidth we paid for. i like the free market ideaology on paper, but i think they should have SOME kind of regulations regarding those shady practices. why is a mobile device any different than a desktop computer? it's a bunch of balogna. thanks for your efforts, b.c. rich. you a musician, man?

Thanks bro! Yes, I am/was a musician but those days are few and far between anymore. Is there something wrong with the PayPal link? I'll check it out. And thanks again for the kind words, I agree with ya on the ridiculous data issues, they eat us up like crazy! The hotspot is a very much big deal for me too as my device is usually my only internet out in the woods so I try to make sure it's 100%, Lol.

Well the hotspot on Hexagon; i don't think is fixed because it allowed me to use my 8GB and i had to start using bluetooth for the time being. maybe i can flash another one and it'll work again. also, i don't know if its your rom or not because i didn't manage to get past the bug but, i wanted to try crdroid or whatever it was called. the one with the egyptian eye symbol, but anyway, during the setup process of that rom, it had some kind of little loop going on. right at the beginning, it asks if you want to restore your apps or something, ya know? and then so i'll put yes, from a google account; etc and no matter what route i take from there it leads me back to the first setup screen where you choose language.
it's a clean flash, wiped everything, and installed the rom, then open_gapps aroma, boots up fine, but the setup is jacked up. i tried it twice, but i didn't really go through any serious troubleshooting steps, i just flashed on a clean wipe, then flashed it right back over itself, thinking maybe a file was corrupt or something like that. got the same result twice, and i just restored my aosp extended install because i was having withdrawal symptoms from spotify. i don't really dig hexagon, so i guess i will give crdroid another shot and see how it behaves this time.
oh maybe i should mention, i didn't use this crdroid link, i used one that i found in your androidfilehost account under this device. i never looked to see if this one's newer, so maybe that explains it?

i also was disappointed by tipsy sadly. i've been a pretty big advocate of people using tipsy rom for a few years, since i tried it on my moto e lte phone back then, it's really a pretty clean distro. unfortunately, the one ported over in this post doesn't seem have any fingerprint scanning functionality in it, so that kind of chaps my satchel. didn't really like viper either. i'll try 'em all eventually, probably. i'm a compulsive flasher. i may need to update my titanium backup or something though, i haven't been able to restore accounts/data usage on any of these 7.1 roms so far. kinda sucks putting all that in manually because i have very secure passwords that i can't memorize very easily. the wifi passcodes and known networks restores, as well as my bluetooth pairings.

You're OK, it's great to hear feedback and I thank you. Yes, sometimes I have a cpl different versions of ROMs in AFH and indeed, did update it from v3.8.8 to v3.8.9. I change my DL links in my AndroidForums threads.. Not everything I upload to afh is recommended for flashing because some are experimental or have issues I haven't worked out so plz be careful, Lol.
Also, I've never had much success with aroma gapps on this device so I stuck with a smaller one like Nano gapps, plus I set every ROM flash up as a new device. Then usually DL everything else a bit later after a reboot or two (but that's me)

i wonder if aroma gapps had something to do with my call screen error. the other day, i think my dialer app vanished or something crazy because whenever i'd recieve a phone call; i had no way of answering it unless i was using a bluetooth device at the time, but i never saw the 'in-call' screen at any point. also, i couldn't call out either. it would start the call, because i'd see my signal icon change to something else, and the only response i could get from the call i was in is a popup that said something about "return to call in progress" but didn't return me to it. i tried a lot of stuff with the google dialer software, because i assumed it was an issue with that. i ended up just dumping that and trying tipsy and hexagon and viper at that point.

have you tried restoring a TWRP backup on this device yet? i've only restored a backup of AOSPEX, but when it's through and android finally boots back up to the lock screen, whatever type of screen lock i have on the phone is changed so that i am forced to factory reset my restored backup. lol
like i said, i haven't restored any other roms, but it does it with AOSPEX every single time. if i have a fingerprint, my fingerprints won't work. if it's a pattern, the pattern has changed, and same with a PIN as well. i've never seen that one before but it was so odd that i didn't even really get upset, i sort of found it amusing.

I read somewhere that it's part of a security feature of FRP (Factory Reset Protection) in all N+ ROMs and ya have to go to each ROM ya used and added a fingerprint lock, then remove the F-print. Always remove the stored prints before switching to a different ROM/OS

To fix your phone issue go to Settings>Apps>"Gear Icon">Phone App and select your current dialer.
What happens is if the dialer included in the ROM is replaced by gapps the new dialer isn't set as your default dialer. The ROM can't find the old dialer anymore so it just doesn't show anything.

i actually figured this one out a couple days later, while i was just browsing to see if it was missing some permissions, but thank you at any rate. good tip. it seems like if you back off of the scene for a little while, it's a little rough trying to relearn all the things that have been changed in android. i have been using an older moto e (the 2015 LTE model) for probably three or four years, and then onto a samsung j3 which was awful. so a lot of procedure and stuff like systemless modifications has changed. what happened to xposed man? lol

Xposed became an inherent & near guaranteed SafetyNet check fail so almost all ROMs removed it from source to reduce the bug posts caused by Xposed.. Since it can still be installed with a flashable zip and Magisk also has a systemless version Xposed to help reduce SafetyNet fails. MoKee ROM still had it built-in until recently and I'll be updating.. LOS, AOKP, MoKee, and something else as soon as I finish figuring out how to totally unbrick my owens. Had it booting from an sdcard the other day and messed something else up so I'm back to square 1 for the moment. Me, @SuperR. and our ole buddy goose03 trying to help make a fastboot flashable FW for 44-12 to finish the unbrick job. If Moto had this already available, our work would be cut in half, Lol. It's going slow but we're trying since more ppl need this than just us and it'd be a great help to the community.
So y'all swing by @SuperR. 's Kitchen threads and tell him thank you for his work, cuz without his kitchen we'd probably not have even gotten this far. He has 2 versions, free and Donate ($15) but the Donate version excels in capabilities, options, has many plugins and the Donate version is what I use.
