I've got a rather strange problem... I'm running stock due to this issue... I'm running mm right now... Anyways, every time I root this phone, I lose my dialer program menu for example, *#0*#. I figured it was a rooting issue so I just flashed back to stock and then flashed only twrp and then flashed a mm rom. Well it still did the same thing. Anybody else having this issue or know of a fix? I need to be able to access the calibration menu for my compass for work..
Nobody has this issue? Ik I can't be the only one...

A few days ago my flash stopped working in camera and the flashlight app. But my flash also started to flash at random times for about half a second. This usually happens when I boot my phone, end a call or when I open my browser.
I have read about a few people with this problem, but have not found a real solution.
I'm rooted and running InsertCoin 1.1.3, S-on.
Is it a software or hardware issue?
Can I fix it?
Any help will be appreciated!

For anyone who has this problem: It turned out to be a hardware issue. If you unroot and return your phone to your service provider they should be able to fix it.
Hi. I tried to flash 4.4 kitkat rooted from PA and I found the WiFi wasn't working. (which is a problem as you need to go through the new user tutorial and you're stuck at the WiFi part)
so I tried to revert back PA (4.3) but I encountered a problem. I played around the Encrypt tablet last time and had a pin code for that.
Now the strange problem is, when I load the System (trying to get into the ROM), it would ask me for the pin right? the pin is incorrect.
BUT when I put the PIN from recovery (different keyboard maybe?), IT WORKS.
WTF IS GOING ON LOL.
So now the question would be:
a) how to disable encrypted tablet mode?
b) how to fix WiFi turning on issue?

Nvm. unrooted, update to kitkat, then re-root again.

I think this started happening after I flashed CM 11, however I've gone back to the original rom and it still doesn't work. Can anyone help me with this?
I've already tried updating to the latest CWM and then the latest TWRP. I also tried factory reset and then fixing permissions with no success. BTW, all that was tried on the stock rooted rom.
I figured out how to fix but I'm not sure how it happened. Basically to fix the problem I simply disabled google voice to my cell phone number at www.google.com/voice.
Just thought I would mention just in case someone else has a similiar issue.

Hi, guys im having some issues and would like some expertise. Okay so i have an s4 the model is m919v but the model is unrelated to the problem. I was running custom roms and have been for a few months and i have a phone that has a locked sim. I heard from someone that i can flash an older version of my modem and get the service menu to unlock... point is i did it and it didnt unlock BUT THATS NOT MY ISSUE. I decided to then revert to stock because my phone was being really glitchy after i tried the unlock. Now i restored my phone and got a custom recovery installed a custom rom that was working flawlessly before is now also being glitchy the same way after i tried to unlock it,
These are some glitches im experiencing:
1) phone app is taking a long time to load and it doesnt type in numbers fast
2) when i call someone it just freezes and i cant go to the call screen
3) no notification sounds coming from my phone it just vibrates but doesnt ring
and im sure a few more
IM SURE THESE HAPPENED AFTER I WENT INTO THE SERVICE MENU AND TRIED TO UNLOCK MY DEVICE.
Someone please tell me what i can do to fix this because ive already reverted to stock once.

You just might want to re-flash the stock rom and before rebooting, clean all the cash and do a factory restore. That should restore the operation to your device.
Only your Pure stock roms will contain any of the modem/boot stuff, if my information is correct.

Is anyone else having issues wirh the home button not working? Occasionally the recents too. Its driving me bananas, i have had this tablet for over a year and use the crap out of it. Now i have to restart all the time which usually doesnt solve anything. Is this googles way to make me have to buy a new tablet??
How did you install 5.0.1? Flash or OTA? If you flashed it using TWRP, make sure you're using TWRP ver. 2.8.2.2. I heard this solves your problem.
OTA, i did a factory reset and it seems to have solved the issue so far. Thanks!
