LG G3 d850 OTA MARSHMALLOW UPDATE KILLED CONTACTS FUNCTION. ADVISE - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I updated to Marshmallow over the air on AT&T and everything works great other than the contacts.
If I try to add a contact using the phone app or the contacts stand alone app (which opens the phone dialer app anyways), then it crashes and I get the "Unfortunately, contacts has stopped" message.
I have rebooted several times and even see if I need to update anything on PlayStore, but I have everything up to date.
Any ideas on how to fix this? this is very limiting and makes the phone unreliable.
Thanks

fixed the problem with a full reset.

Problem with Twitter App

Hello,
I'm having a problem with my Twitter app. Every time I go into it, it's attempting to log in, and I'm unable to cancel the login attempt or do anything else other than leave the app via home button.
I can force it to close, or at least, my phone tells me so, but I when I restart it, it still attempts to log in.
Even after shutdowns and restarts this issue persists.
I have recently rooted my G2, however, this problem was occurring before the root anyways.
Does anyone know a possible way to fix this?
PS. I'm new to the whole smartphone thing and rooting scene (1st phone and 1st root) so, any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
EDIT: I've chosen to just delete the app via Titanium Backup. Reinstalled 1.0.5. Problem gone. So much for restoring stock 1.0.4.
Tweetdeck is way better any way to be honest

I had the same issue. Go into settings, accounts and sync, click on the twitter account, then remove the account. Go into applications menu under settings and click on twitter then force stop. You should be able to log in again after that. Haven't had any problems since.

Gmail Add Account Force Close

Anyone experience FORCE CLOSE when trying to add a second gmail account?
Also - is there no ACCOUNTS/Sync menu in the settings for Touchwiz?
Recently I started to notice this same issue. Initially when I got the phone and did my setup, I was able to input all three of my gmail accounts without no problems.
I started noticing this force close error after I rooted the phone and did a factory restore. After that gmail never functioned the same. Presently I am using the mail app that came with the phone. I have put the gmail app on hold until a solution is found.
Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't help.
ya i have mine rooted, and it doesnt work. rooting should make a difference though.
weird.

Contacts won't open

I don't know when it it started, but my contacts just won't open, and even my dialer is difficult to open unless it is on the actual dial pad when closed last (if it's on logs, favorites, or contacts it also force closes whenever I try opening it). I was using Ready Contacts for a while, but I don't like it so I went back to my TouchWiz contacts and dialer to find they are all jacked up. I've tried clearing cache, manually force closing it, and clearing data, but nothing works.
Anyone know what would cause contacts to refuse to open? I'm on 4.4.2 NF9 rooted but otherwise stock.
Thanks.
I have exactly the same issue, any help would be appreciated

I just upgraded on the weekend. I did not have problems with contacts but had problems with Google services using to much battery.
I had to factory reset. You don't lose root, you will have to download it again.
Using Titanium back and restore data was problematic with apps like 3C Tool box that alter performance or permissions on your phone. I cleared my data for 3C and some force closes went away.
I was getting reboots when scrolling through some apps. Reinstalling 3C and resetting the data got rid of problems.
It is new firmware and sometimes it is better to reinstall apps than restoring them from backup.
I don't know if any of this will help. Just some thoughts from my experience.

Using xposed? First thought was the mod for showing a call icon in contacts list... if you are in a VoLTE area (and have it on) it FCs due to pointing to a non-existant image. Not sure it's the issue but figured I'd share.

That's probably exactly it, since it's intermittent, and seems to have started around the time I installed Wacom. I've disabled it and will see if the problem goes away. Thanks!

once "android.process.acore" error triggered - phone is wasted

installed 200 aps -entered passwords and made the phone ready for business use :fingers-crossed:
then i started....
PAYPAL triggered the nasty "ANDROIDROCESS:ACORE HAS STOPPED" error
the error prevents the complete use of phonecalling function and email and hangouts
other programs that trigger the error on lolipop 5.0 - v20f on D855 are
facebook/ outlook / messenger /
this bug makes the phone unusable. even lg support team have no solution
help ?
I am having the exact same error and the only thing that gets the error to stop popping up is if I disable "contacts storage" and of course then the phone isn't much use. I was able to download a 3rd party dialer and make a phone call but that's not a fix. I am using cm12 on a tmobile note 4 and have completely reset and wiped the device multiple times with this issue and it is only happening in the last few days and so far only when I use a cm12 rom (no error on a touchwiz rom yet). If I reset the phone it works fine and I can load up all the apps that I want and it will work sometimes for minutes or sometimes hours but once I get that error randomly it's all done and I have to eventually reset. I have searched and searched but the solutions that I have found are not fixing this issue for me. So far I have
1. complete reset and installed apps one by one to see if any caused the issue
2. cleared data settings, apps, contacts, contacts storage, dialer, google contacts sync, and the only one that did anything was disabling contacts storage. It seems to stop the issue completely but I cant use contacts or dialer then.
I have tried using PA stock gapps package and gapps-lp-20141109 package and both have this issue on nightlies from 2/3, 2/1, and 2/4. I even went through my gmail contacts online with my PC and cleared most of the info there to no success. I do not think this is an issue with the ROM but just frustrated as I want to us cm12 and can't because of this.
i found out that deinstalling facebook solves the isue completely and before deinstall the programm that triggered the error
so the efforts are much less
and if you need Facebook, you can install Facebook Lite.

All you can do is use Titanium Backup to backup all APK+Data and restore it to a freshly wiped device
Its a pain but its better than having to reinstall and reconfigure most of it again
I had the exact same problem but I figured a way to resolve it quickly. I have a Samsung Galaxy s4 and to cancel the error I just opened settings>application manager and by pressing the menu button on the bottom left hand corner of my phone the option "reset app preferences" appeared and as soon as I clicked it the error had stopped for good
My LG MS330 has same error in a loop

also: android.process.media I can't access nothing it's on an unnendeing loop telling me music has sttoped, gallery has stopped, android.process.acore has stopped and android.process.media has stopped. and the phone is not even a month old, can anyone help out pretty pretty please

android.process.acore has stopped

I have a Verizon LG G3 running stock/rooted 4.4.2.
Today, for the 2nd time, I started receiving the unfortunately, the android.process.acore has stopped error It pretty much just constantly pops up, non stop.
Last time a few months back, I fixed it with a factory reset (annoying).
Today, it started again. I tried clearing contacts and contacts storage and google service framework, but none of that helped.
Wound up doing another factory reset.
This time, it was working fine until I added an exchange account to sync calendar and email and then I started getting the error again. I don't think that was the trigger though because of what else I figured out.
It appears as if I uninstall facebook, the error goes away. I tried uninstalling facebook, clearing contacts and contacts storage and then reinstalling, but it starts again once it gets reinstalled.
I've done this back and forth enough times now that it's clearly being caused by the facebook install. It starts as soon as I log into facebook after I install it.
I guess at least it's nice to know I can uninstall facebook and I'm good, but I want to use the facebook app still.
So now what?
I have the same problem but it's with WeChat.
Here's something you can try.
I went into Phone --> Settings and select only to display contacts from Gmail. It stopped error.
