I apologize, I'm on a metered connection and can't eat 4+gb this moment. I'm working on getting you my nandroid images for booting.

There's already a thread for this stuff - maybe you should've posted your request there?

I obviously can't help with the metered connection but if you need a place to upload, just let me know. I have a few servers at the ready.:victory:

Moderator moved thread (Sorry about that....old member, new poster!)
All other threads are for non-us variants. With everyone getting their phone this week from initial preorders, I thought it would be good to have a dedicated thread. Once it's up, we can close this and add it to the other image/recovery thread.

I'm referring to the thread titled [STOCK] Guides and Stock Backups/Recovery/OTA/RUU.
Nowhere does it indicate that thread is only for non-US variants. It only appears that way now because no one has uploaded anything for a US variant. I'd still upload it there so everything stays centralized.

I have requested it in a few threads and have not gotten any results. Since some people also contacted me to check if anyone had provided it to me yet, I felt it warranted a dedicated thread until it was available. It undoubtedly will be in higher demand now that U.S. customers are having their phones arrive.
Once available, we can move to other thread that we are discussing and lock this with a link.
I apologize if this was bad etiquette. I already urgently need the files; Apparently along with some other users...please quit kicking a dead horse (aka me! ).

I'm uploading them to Dropbox, you can redistribute or reuse after that (you host). I'd appreciate credit if it helps you or the community.
I have not tested the recovery and I don't remember if it's .617. stock. I've used the system and boot images to fix the decrypted data partition issues mentioned here:

I believe I was trying to follow your instructions in the TWRP thread and I did it from within TWRP immediately after booting into recovery the first time.
As I mentioned, haven't looked at it, can't say if it's TWRP or stock .617. recovery.
EDIT: Sorry, very long night after recieving my phone.
Here was my process:
Booted first time.
Unlocked bootloader
Flashed TWRP
Backup Images - in zip uploading now.
Root
S-off

There's one In the twrp thread. You can flash twrp to boot partition and back up stock recovery that way, then flash boot back

!!!!!!******Please Read Before You Flash Another Rom******!!!!!! Cw 3.0.0.6

Over the last few weeks many of you have had problems with boot looping roms and not being able to restore a nandroid. 9 times out of 10 the problem comes down to being cw 3.0.0.5.
Our Q & A forum has been flooded with questions about problems that could have been avoided if people would simply take a few minuets to update their recovery. This is NOT something that is mandatory, but please save yourself as well as the people that take the time to fix everyones problems a headache! There are two simple ways to flash the recovery listed below. Thank you all for adhering to this request, it will be appreciated!
Option94, Zinx and Koush have taken the time out of their lives to put this new recovery together for all of us. So please remember to thank them!
I have attached a copy of the recovery to this thread. For those of you who have the eng SPL (0.85.2007) place the file in your AndroidSDK\tools\ folder and the run this script from fastboot
Fastboot flash recovery c:\AndroidSDK\tools\recovery.img
If you don't have the eng spl or if you are unfamiliar with ADB you can use TrueBlue_Drew meathod below.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944681
You can also try flashing this version from your recovery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=555930&d=1301465416
You can find the original cw 3.0.0.6 thread from option94 below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=952433
mod maybe u could sticky this for a few weeks
You're right that this gets asked a lot. It should be stickied!
You might want to add that you must have the engineering SPL (0.85.2007) to use the fastboot method. I can imagine people trying that and not being able to, and not knowing why.
There's already a similar sticky in the Q&A section.
Yep, thanks.
Rom manager will only flash version 3.0.0.5. This is version 3.0.0.6. This is still the needed recovery for the 2 different file systems.
Ok. Perhaps we do still need this. Maybe I haven't flashed enough ext3 ROMs...lol
nice of you to post this even tho 3.0.0.6 has been out for awhile now. been using for couple months

Yeah it has, and that's the whole point. Despite 3.0.0.6 being out for so long, people still aren't using it and have no idea why their ROM won't boot.
yeah, but its THEIR fault for not researching and reading thru the forum

I agree! However, THEM not researching leads to the same question being asked over and over, which means WE end up answering it over and over. So it's to everyone's benefit to be informed, and hopefully threads like this will help in that matter.
totally agree
I may have a better solution. Need to see if I can get a hold of koush though.
I wonder why ROM Manager doesn't have it yet. (I've been circumventing ROM Manager anyway and just flashing through fastboot.)

Because 3.0.0.6 was not created by Koush and is therefore not an "official" build of CWM. It was created by option94 and distributed on XDA.

Technically, all I did was compile his source code for it. Its still his.
Maybe somebody will email koush and see if he is willing to put 3.0.0.6 in the Rom manager.

Here's a clue. You asked a question, this is not the question section.
Did you know on forums like Techspot and Facepunch you would have your account banned for a week just for this very thread. XDA needs some serious moderation improvements.

What kind of errors do you see?
I had something once that may be similar on the Tab and the issue was a virgin eMMC (what you call the internal SD).
I found in one of the official ROMs a file names "P1000JPJM5-REV03-EMMC-CL869932.tar"
I flashed it and it formatted the eMMC, afterwards flashed the ROM regularly and BAM - the device was up and running.
Hope this will help you, you might have to start downloading many many official ROMs.

[RECOVERY] TWRP Method for ROOT users

THIS METHOD FOR USERS WITH ROOT ONLY
There is now a TWRP supported for the LS980 which can be found here.
http://www.teamw.in/project/twrp2/197
click the sprint link and download the most current version
Here is the direct link to Sprint TWRP model from TWRP website
http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/g2spr
If you have ZVA firmware installed, please read this thread posted below before proceeding!!!!! You must flash zv7-aboot.img before flashing TWRP recovery since the zva-aboot.img does not allow you to run TWRP recovery. See thread below on the changes in the ZVA firmware.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2627765
Using terminal emulator to flash zv7-aboot.img on your phone
Code:
dd if=/path/to/your/zv7-aboot.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/aboot
Using adb to flash zv7-aboot.img to your phone.
Code:
1. Download the zv7-aboot.img file and place the zv7-aboot.img in the ioroot folder location.
2. Hold shift and right click in a blank area of the ioroot folder on your PC and select "open command window here"
3. Type adb push zv7-aboot.img /sdcard/
4. Type adb shell
(If you do not see a # type su and hit enter so that you see the #)
5. Type dd if=/sdcard/zv7-aboot.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/aboot
Once done with that place the .img or zip file onto your phone.
Once done with that go to the market and install this app on your phone: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cgollner.flashify
Then open the app and select recovery image
then browse to where the file is stored ( more than likely its sdcard . . .)
Then hit yep this is correct (if it is)
Done!
This method is for TWRP 2.6.3.2 not for the updated version of TWRP i recommend installing 2.6.3.2 and the using that recovery to install the newest one:
To to that place the openrecovery-twrp2.6.3.3.g2spr.zip on your internal sd
then load up recovery
press the install button
then look for the openrecovery-twrp2.6.3.3.g2spr.zip
swipe to install
ps: to boot into recovery manually press and hold volume down and then power and hold it down both buttons together and it will boot to TWRP
make sure to thank @leroybrute for the flashify idea
ADDITIONALLY when you have done this the very first thing that you NEED to do is go into TWRP and make a nandroid backup of your stock ROM. I have seen so many people lately not doing this and having major problems. This is very important!!!!
Latest official version of TWRP: 2.6.3.3
Please do NOT download and install any other unofficial versions of TWRP since help will be very limited.
As always, I DO NOT TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY for what happens to your phone. Please research and ask questions if you are not sure what you are doing.
Here are the adb and fastboot files you need. Extract this zip file into a folder and put your TWRP recovery image in this folder and follow the tutorial video.
WACOMalt's TWRP flashing method located here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2449670
You will need to download the loki tools which are explained in the tutorial video.
You need to download the Sprint TWRP file here: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/g2spr
WACOMalt also posted a tutorial video on how to flash recovery using his method shown here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZSjL6FCyxA

You will notice in that post that sprint is not referenced thats because it wasnt available at the time that WACOMalt wrote that post.

Flashify loaded this in to time successfully for me.
If you use the link posted in the op twrp files are already lokied so you don't need the tools.

That is why once rooted you can simply use flashify from the market.

No you had the right guy, and I don't want credit. It is also the right app. This stems from your thread in general thread asking about recovery. I gave the answer in the second post with no credit. Instead got bashed in a sense and ignored.
I have had the Vs980 since release and since I got the Ls980 I thought I could help with what I have learned from there.
I also have wireless tether working on my Ls980.
But I think I will back out of the Sprint development.

Today is a hectic day since the Sprint subforum just created and I was just referencing existing threads that other variants have used for rooting and flashing recovery. I didn't even know about the Flashify app so thanks for giving us the heads up. None of us meant to ignore you but please don't take it personally. I didn't follow the Verizon thread too much and obviously I didn't even know about. Any lessons learned or easier methods to do stuff that you are aware of please continue to contribute to the Sprint development.
Since you mentioned it? Do you mind sharing how you got wireless tether to work on the LS980? I can create a new thread for wireless tether and will give credit to you and whoever else contributed to the wireless tether mod for the Sprint version.
Thanks to all that contributed ive got root and recovery

[Q] Broken WiFi Please Help!

Somewhere along the line i messed up and deleted the whole os through twrp. I Don't know how it happened but it did. I found a forum that lead me to a sprint recovery which I needed so I flashed that not thinking anything of it. It flashed Android 4.4.4 and now my WiFi Doesn't work. Maybe i should have done more research but is there anyway to fix this? I am rooted but S-ON

Definitely do more research before you blow away things on your phone, yes
Anyway, depending on which "Android 4.4.4" you flashed it probably requires a new firmware, which you can't flash because you're S-On. Flash an earlier ROM (or backup) that supports your firmware.

Nope, I added the wink right away and had a chuckle to myself.
Like I said, he was told about the stock backups yesterday, and on another thread, he OPed the almost exact same thing. I told him there to go back to stock, I believe as well. He obviously doesn't want to take the time to do some reading and searching to help himself. I'm not willing to spoon feed him. It's time he just followed the advice that was given.

Please Help Stuck In boot loop...

If this does not belong here please advise and I will remove.
I could really use some help. I cant boot into the os. Here is what I did I had everything up and running twrp and root. I realized I accidently flashed the alpha build of twrp not the rc build so I dowloaded the rc zip and flashed it via twrp. It started boot looping into twrp. When I realized this I flashed back to the alpha 2 build and then booted my backup. I am now stuck at the android dancing dots. Can some one help me out please. Thanks for your time

Boot into bootloader, use the latest Google stock factory image and use the flashall.bat with the -w removed inside the file. Let the batch file run and boot the OS using fully stock firmware. If it boots fine, go ahead and fastboot boot TWRP rc1 and flash TWRP rc1 zip and supersu zip.

Fastboot. Use the latest version from Google.
Search for "Nexus factory image download," grab the latest factory image for our device, and flash all. The aforementioned will overwrite your internal memory, and there is a way to preserve your internal data. You can read about it in the Q&A section.
Check the thread from @bajasur for guidance.
For your reference, threads like this belong in that same section, not development (a moderator will move this soon enough). There's also a noob friendly thread, where you can post most anything and folks will help.
Good luck, and please keep us posted.

I just realized your a fellow local I am from the Spring Hill area. About 30 min north of Tampa
You guys are awesome for helping. It's just as easy to help someone as it is to flog them with the usual replies of "search" or "wrong thread". Nice to have good people here.

Very true. The info is out there but not knowing exactly what I did, there seems to be too many answers, and I was quickly overwelmed. After my two attempts to fix it failed I figured it was best to ask for help before I made the problem worse

Agreed! I was welcomed into these forums when I was still a noob and just wanted to pay it forward. Takes just as much effort to flame someone so might as well help out.
Glad you got it sorted @specd_out
