I'm currently on AOSP, Is there any way how I can update my bootloader to the latest one? I know you have to Odin flash and check update bootloader, but which 4.4.2 official firmware do I flash? Would flashing an SM-N900 work?
I am on an at&t m9. Unlocked, rooted, and s-off. I am on firmware 1.32.502.9 right now and want to update my firmware to the latest and greatest. At&t pushed an update ota which I obviously can't take.
How do I go about updating said firmware?
You can either restore a nandroid of the original OS (provided you did not root before doing the original backup), take the OTA update, then re-root, and flash a new ROM, or wait for one of the more capable members here to package the firmware as a zip file and flash it separately.
I'm new to Android and flashing. I flashed the unlocked firmware but how do I go back to the VZW firmware?
I've found one on updato but even though it's labeled as VZW it was T-Mobile firmware.
Check sammobile

Hello, I want to update the firmware from 2.41.401.4 cid_34 s/on to the latest oreo one.. I have a custom rom right now.. and want to understand what my options are
. Should I update to a version like 2.41.401.41 and then update through ota/manually to oreo firmware? Can I flash immediately the latest oreo based firmware? If I flash the RUU I am back to stock? Thank you and hope this helps others with the inquire. Couldn't find this specifically through google/xda.

Going to Oreo you should wipe data so the best and cleanest way to do this would be to flash the 2.41.401.41 ruu. After flashing this RUU your phone will be completely stock. After that just take the OTA to Oreo. If you want to flash a custom ROM you will have to flash the latest twrp followed by ROM.
RUU can be found here.

Thanks so much both of you, I was on 1.53.401.13 and was having a nightmare trying to update my phone using windows!
I put the rom on my SD card and updated, just waiting on the OTA update now. Very very happy and relieved it all worked fine!!
I am on baseband CTC7/build CTC9 (April security patch) rooted with magisk
1. is it possible to flash newer firmware and revert back to CTC7/CTC9 or older firmware if needed?
2. is it possible to only flash newer magisk_patched with older modem file?
The thing is, you can flash firmwares with a bootloader version equal or higher than the currently one installed, that's it, no way around it
