Hey all, ever since installing this rom I have not been able to send mms messages, everything else seems to be working fine.. I have checked my apn settings and they are set to the default and look okay.. I am on orange and my monthly plan does include photo messages, while i was on stock rom photo messages worked fine, but now when I try to send one it tries to send multiple times before saying it failed multiple times due to "generic network error".. does anyone know a solution to this? If anyone thinks they could help i would happily provide you with my apn settings, software settings and whatever else you could possibly need.
Thanks very much,
-Dan
I don't know if this will help. But i had the same error "generic network failure" after only having my HTC desire for couple weeks. I am on o2 sim simplicity while purchasing the handset separately and unlocking it.
However, i resolved it by manually setting up the WEB & MMS. As it seems that service providers such as O2 message that can be sent out to handsets do not aid in setting up the MMS therefore after manually setting it...it worked for me and may work for you.

no luck, deleted my apn's and entered that one, still get a gprs connection but no luck with MMS's.. before when i had my original apn's on there if i attempted to send an mms, it would turn on my mobile data connection if it wasnt on before, but it didnt actually do anything except fail and retry until it says it failed after multiple attempts due to generic network failure. Now with the new settings, the gprs icon doesnt even show up if i try to send an mms, and i still get the same outcome.
Open your message app
Push the "menu" button
select "Settings"
scroll down to the MMS section
de-select the "Delivery reports" and "Read reports" options
Also try sending mms without wifi on
see if this helps

hi Niffer,
I have met same problem with Leedroid v2.5.0 but solved soon.
some apn configurations is incorrect with this release.
just change Apn Type value "default" with "default, supl" and then try again.
Hi Guys,
I'm having the exact same problem with Leedroid 3.0.8.2 on my Desire.
I had an app called 'Stop Data on 3' which substituted the data APN with a dummy one when Roaming off 3 in Australia due to extortionate data charges on the Roaming network (Telstra). This effectively stops your data when roaming. I suspected that this could have been causing the problem with the APNs, but I uninstalled it and still cannot receive or send MMS texts, even when not roaming and with full HSDPA signal.
Any help appreciated...
Purchased a Galaxy Nexus HSPA direct from google. I am using it on T-Mobile USA on a family plan I share with my daughter. The plan has no data but includes unlimited text and MMS. (We get by on wifi for our Internet needs).
The problem I have is that my daughter's MyTouch 4g Slide (locked to T-Mobile) has been sending and receiving MMS fine with mobile data turned off. This has always been the case for 6 months running and it has not been when on wifi. However, my brand new Nexus cannot send or receive MMS with mobile data turned off. The only scenario I have to send and receive MMS is by turning on mobile data prior to sending an MMS or before one is received.
My goal is to have my Nexus send and receive MMS without having to turn on mobile data (like the older MyTouch 4g slide).
Our settings are slightly different, so replicating hers is not exactly possible. Below are the details of our devices. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Ya, I figure I will give going to the store a chance since I can't find the answer anywhere online. However, my situation is slightly different from yours as I do not have a data plan (but do have unlimited MMS in my contract)
I had a similar issue, which I fixed as follows:
Go to the APN settings, hit the menu key and reset to default.
I later found out that having the APN protocol set to ipv6 was an issue, so I got around that by setting up separate APNs with ipv4 for MMS, and ipv6 for data, etc...

I suspect the stock settings send text message via data and wifi connections. To test try sending a text when you are in your wifi area. As you can see, your daughter has 2 different APN setups while you have one for everything.
Me and my wife were in Florida in June and we brought our GSM Galaxy Nexuses with us.
I just walked in a T-Mobile store and purchased two SIMs. We tried one in my phone and it just wouldn't work with data at all... No MMS, no data.
He tried fiddling with APN settings to no avail until I rebooted the phone and then it all just worked and it worked perfectly fine for the next 3.5 weeks that we were there so I can definately say that if they tell you that it won't work because you don't have a T-mobile phone they're incompetent.
So my advice, reset your APN settings and reboot phone then test. If it doesn't work, start comparing APN settings with the other phone you have that works. And always reboot the phone if it doesn't start working immidiately.

Would you mind detailing your APNs? I am still having trouble with this.
Thanks!
For some reason my data connection funked out today. It has worked fine on the ROM, kernel, etc. up until this morning. For some reason I can't get it to work today. Anybody else with this issue?
I would download and reflash the radio, but at work I can't download things and my internet on my phone is (obviously) down. Hopefully this will fix it when I get home.
Have you tried toggling airplane mode? Rebooting?
Data isn't working for me either on stock rom. I didn't change anything today that would have caused this. I'm on AT&T.

Yes to both. Have tried the following so far:
Toggled data on and off.
Toggled Airplane on and off.
Rebooted.
Powered down, pulled battery and booted up again.
Restored previous fully functional nandroid of a different ROM through CWM.
So far no luck. I am unsure what would cause the radio to stop working with no apparent changes on my part.
Occasionally I have the H or H+ showing above my radio signal, but other times it disappears. Even with it showing I can't connect to internet, tried Browser, Facebook, and Tapatalk. Signal bars are grey signaling that connection is not made to Google servers. If I stay on home screen the H+ will return, but if I start an app like Facebook it disappears again or it just hangs on loading.
Very odd behavior.

Sounds like it could be an AT&T issue then, because I am also on their service. I will try to give them a call after work, I suppose.

For me it doesn't have anything to do with 4.2, because I am still on a 4.1.2 ROM. I have a few 4.2 gapps but those can't be the problem, either, because I have been using them for a long time (weeks).

Sorry, didn't catch that. So I switched my Note over to WAP and it won't connect to data. Must be an ATT issue with the cingular apn.
4.1.2 here, same issue. No data connection. Took it to the AT&T store and he added a new APN, but it still won't show up as H+. Just "H" and grey bars, as opposed to the blue color they used to be. If you guys want the info for the new APN they added, I can type it out for ya

That solution works for me. I hope this method is safe.. not too knowledgeable regarding APNs.
AT&T here as well, data isn't working with cm10, or any 4.1.2 rom or official 4.2 either no matter what sort of trickery I try, nothing works. I think it is definitely on AT&T's end. Oh well, off to the bar I go!
Edit.. before any smartasses ask.. I also tried dicking around with apns (wap. cingular, phone apn, and the 410 APN as well..., airplane mode, rebooting, nothing works. Located in PA here, there is a tower 50ft from my house haha.

So far no luck with any of these APNs. I called AT&T and they didn't seem to have a clue what was happening, they also wanted me to call prepaid center since my nexus isn't in their help files. Will keep trying.
edit: looks like i had some luck with the APN quoted in the post above this one, not the picture in the other thread though.

I am on T-Mo too, I have had that problem more than a few times, and each time, I had to call T-Mo to renew my network connection.
You best call on another phone, as they will take you out of the network and re-insert you to it again. You will have to remove the battery, wait a few, and then reboot. After that It works!!
One time I had to clean out the cache and data of my mms client and the native mms app and it worked (fine ever since)
Good Luck and Aloha!
Is there a way to make the SCH-I545 Verizon S4 work on the T-Mobile Network with LTE? Which does have the LTE Band 4 on the phone.
I have the HSPA+ working but it does not send MMS... Only my Voice, Text, and Data work.
Are the physical radio the same or just software locked?

Is there a way to make the SCH-I545 Verizon S4 work on the T-Mobile Network with LTE? Which does have the LTE Band 4 on the phone.
I have the HSPA+ working but it does not send MMS... Only my Voice, Text, and Data work.
Are the physical radio the same or just software locked?

Download tell info from the play store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aebeinroth.telinfo and go to device info and change it to LTE/GSM auto prl.
Sent from my GT-I9505G using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
This also did not help...

I didn't test MMS, SMS or anything, but see my post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397984&page=2 LTE worked fine for me last night. Mind you, I'm on an MDK (Loki-able) phone w/ ME7 ROM and EMJ7 radio flashed. I used APN Manager Pro to edit my APN, I did nothing but add the fast.t-mobile.com APN, and it worked immediately with a T-Mobile $30/mo data prepay SIM.

I'll be traveling today and might be carrying several phones/SIMs to play with. If I have a chance, I'll give MMS a shot. You definitely need your MMSC set properly or MMS isn't going to work, though, I can tell you that much.
I'm experiencing the same problem, same phone. I also do not have an MMS protocol setting available to change. I'm guessing this is the issue. Does anyone know how to change the MMS protocol on this particular phone? Or is there another issue at hand here? Thanks for the help.
