Unlocking all bands - Sprint LG G2

Hello guys, as you know, our device has only sprint's lte bands but I think snapdragon 800 should include more lte bands. Can we use this thread to active our bands to use in european countries?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...ad-progress-please-leave-im-updating-t2871269

No! You cannot unlock your bands using this method. Even if you try to use codes from this post in dialer - here goes nothing...

Which HSPA/UMTS band does the M9 unlocked US version support?

Found much conflicting info on HSPA band support for the US unlocked/developer model.
htc.com says it supports 3G UMTS: 850/900/1900/2100 MHz. But is also says it supports 4G LTE: FDD: Bands 1,3,5,7,8,20,28, which is COMPLETELY wrong so i don't know if to trust htc.com.
Can anyone confirm the UMTS band support for this device? I am most interested in 900mhz UMTS because of trips to New Zealand where 900 mhz UMTS is often used.
Thanks!
Bump.

Is that really true?
I am looking into getting the HTC One M9 through AT&T but may switch to T-Mobile in the future.
As such I want a phone that fully supports both networks ...
I found a thread that it is supposedly possible to flash the AT&T phone to support developer ROMs but I can't find any information whether it is possible to also change band support. According to GSM Arena the AT&T version of the phone also supports LTE band 4 and 12 (needed for T-Mobile) but it doesn't support VoLTE on band 12, nor does it have 3G AWS (1700/2100), though of course there is a T-Mobile version of the phone WITH support for all of those.
Can I simply flash my phone so that I can (a) use CM13/AOSP roms and (b) so that the radio uses the proper AT&T or T-Mobile bands and tech?

What I am asking is very different: AT&T and T-Mobile DO NOT use the same bands (e.g. AWS for T-Mobile) nor the same tech (VoLTE on band 12)

All this info is about LTE bands. I am curious about HSPA/UMTS bands. I would like to know what it supports out of the box, not what I can with mods.
Thanks!

The T-mobile version of the M9 supports the most bands. The AT&T and Developer Edition are identical and are missing some bands needed for t-mobile LTE (Volte) support in some areas. Flashing different radios will not enable bands the phone does not have. Theirs more information in the T-mobile M9 forums

Thanks for the reply. I have checked GSM arena, plus anything else I could find on google. I don't see a listing for the unlocked/developer edition on this page. I see EMEA, Verizon, ATT and T-mobile.
And yes, sorry, I didn't realized there was an AWS for HSPA, i was just thinking about band 4 LTE on ATT which I think is AWS.

It's pretty difficult to find out info on band support, and I have no idea why. It should be readily available...
Anyway, have a look at this: http://wireless.fcc.gov/hac_documents/150813/9135276_21.PDF
Based on that, there are four models sold in the U.S., which are:
0PJA100 (which appears to be the AT&T version)
0PJA120 (which appears to be the TMO USA version)
0PJA200 (which appears to be the Sprint version)
0PJA300 (which appears to be the Verizon version)
The AT&T model supports the following: UMTS 850MHz, 1900MHz and 2100MHz.
Now, that said, if you look on AT&T's site, they list their model as 0PJA110, so obviously either the FCC site is wrong or the AT&T site is wrong.
I happen to have the 0PJA110 model, which is also the Rogers model (so it would make sense that the AT&T version is 0PJA110 because Rogers and AT&T generally have the same devices, and their networks are generally the same frequencies). Based on HTC Canada's site, the Rogers model supports UMTS 850MHz, 1700MHz, 1900MHz and 2100MHz.
Now, for the assumption: From what I have read (but I haven't personally confirmed), the unlocked and developer models are the same as the AT&T model. If that is indeed the case, then you have your answer: No UMTS 900MHz support the unlocked and/or developer models (in fact, not UMTS support on any U.S. model).

I know this is a delayed followup, but I wanted to say thanks for this. I finally got HTC to confirm that UMTS 850MHz, 1700MHz, 1900MHz and 2100MHz are the official specs for the US unlocked edition(which, oddly, is marked 0PJA110 on the back).
I am pushing them for a refund for false advertising. I was so concerned that these specs could be wrong before I purchased the phone, that I did a chat with HTC and they assured me the correct specs were UMTS 850MHz, 900MHz, 1700MHz, 1900MHz and 2100MHz. Once they confirmed these specs for me, I purchased the phone. Now they confirm they told me wrong. Very frustrating experience.
I am waiting to hear back about getting a refund. I am hoping the come through, this is crazy.

Unlocked US HTC 10 won't connect to 3G Band 900

Hi everyone. I recently purchased a HTC 10 from swappa, the unlocked version. The thing is, on gsmarena and HTC US page says that this model works on 850/900Mhz bands for UMTS (H/H+), but here in DR, i'm trying to use it with Orange Dominicana, who works on 900Mhz band for UMTS and the phone doesnt... It goes from LTE to 2G, and when on LTE i cant receive phone calls. I need to put it on 2G to receive calls, but the data sucks at those speeds.
Anyone knows a way that i can be sure if the phone really doesn't have this particular band (900Mhz) for UMTS? or a way to see if i can activate it if its available but inactive? I try 2 phones (a friend of mine bought one, same model) and is the exact same behavior on both.
See my signature about adding bands.
At least you can check if it is enabled and perhaps try to add it too

I haven't tried adding bands yet. I'm interested since Viva is rolling out 4G service in the next few months. If my HTC 10 isn't compatible with their 4G or 3G (even though they said it will be), then I'll be looking at adding more bands.

Thanks for the sugestion. I did not follow your method since CDMA Tools is no longrer available in DEMO version and licences are really expensive (100+ Dollars) to just test. I followed the method suggested by @fffft (That can be found here) since it applyes to all Qualcomm devices using QPST and QXMD.
Long story short, I had to Root, set a custom recovery, a custom ROM and even a custom Kernel to try the method but It did not work to me. The irony of all of this is that technically I my HTC 10 has all bands available to be used. See the picture Attached.

Add LTE Band 3 to OP3?

Hi guys, so after a bit of research I found that you can add/enable bands on the OP1 as shown here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-unlock-aditional-bands-qualcomm-t2877031
and Here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56577252&postcount=455
My question is can I add LTE band 3 to my OP3 A3000?
Mine currently supports:
North America model(A3000)
FDD-LTE: Bands 1/2/4/5/7/12/17/30
The other models support:
Europe / Asia model
FDD-LTE: Bands 1/3/5/7/8/20
TDD-LTE: Bands 38/40
China model
FDD-LTE : Bands 1/3/7
TDD-LTE: Bands 38/39/40/41
If anyone has done this or attempted to do this please let me know
Looking for the same information.
Also been searching for this. Found another thread which says hopefully in the next month or two it will be looked into.

This is what I'd assume as well, but it looks like some have been successful in the past with Oneplus devices. Especially since Oneplus' response to the band omissions seemed a bit vague IMO.
Any updates?
I have a A3000 US model (Does not support LTE band 3)
AND NOW
I have just got a A3000 HK model (For my dad) (support's LTE band 3)
and the "about phone" part is identical apart from the baseband version.
Is there any way to tell them apart. And does this mean I can somehow unlock LTE band 3 on my US version of the OP3?
If there was someway to backup the basband and restore it on on my US OP3 that would also be great!

AFAIK there isn't yet a way, but I would suggest to follow the most active thread on the subject:

Hopefully something will come up..
Can this work on all carriers? Whether in North America or over seeas?
I've got OP3T A3000, tried multiple files and instructions to unlock LTE band 3 on it, no luck so far. Downgraded to Nougat, Oreo, different zip files, qcn files, hex editing stuff, most of these process went error free with still no band 3.

Euro Rom - missing LTE band 3

Hello guys
i got the OP3 A3000. i got mine from the official website and its the American version.
ilive in Israel, and there for my device wont have a LTE band #3 like the European versions come with.
my question is, if ill install a Euro rom..would it include the missing LTE band?
* is the anyway other way to pass this issue or installing the missing band ?
thanks in advance.
Eli
Nope. The bands are defined outside of the rom, I'd assume in the modem configuration.

is there anyway that i can install or activate that band on my phone ?
Unless you have the encryption keys to program the baseband...
There's a thread here where people have been trying to change bands without success.
My friend you should check if the phone has the band you need before you buy the phone.
A3000 model it's also for China region.
tl;dr - bands can't be changed

Unlocking 5s Bands ?

Has anyone successfully unlocked all the frequency bands for the 5s. I did see a thread on the Mi5 being unlocked. Secondly if they can be unlocked does it actually work on all the North American LTE bands, specifically Rogers in Canada.
any help appreciated.....if it can be done I'll be buying the phone. I like the specs.
I'm a bit confused at what you're asking here. 1 minute of googling tells me Rodgers only supports LTE bands 4, 7 (with 12 being deployed) and only in 'select markets' (source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rogers_Wireless#LTE)
Further 2 seconds of googling shows me that the mi 5s radio only supports LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 38(2600), 39(1900), 40(2300), 41(2500) (source: http://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_5s-7260.php)
So basic logic is telling me that if have Rodgers, and you don't have coverage by band 7, you don't have LTE.
There is no magical bullet to make a radio support frequencies it does not support. (RTFM).
Seems some people have had some success:

Try this:
From Dialer: *#*#4636#*#*
Select SIM you want (for me was 'Phone info2')
Select 'TD-SCDMA, DMS/WCDMA and LTE' to change your radio settings
Select last one on list above Unknown.
(for me was TD-SCDMA, LTE, CDMA, EVDO, GSM/WCDMA)
You should now have everything your radio supports enabled.
--- edit---
Looks like some others on this forum have had some success with other phones. Try it out and let us know-

Is somebody going to try?
I just saw, from what I could read, is that the original Mi5 (not the Mi5s) they managed to unlock all the bands but 20. So could the same method be used and if so would that make the Mi5s compatible with North American carriers ?

Not sure - you should give it a try, if you currently don't have a working LTE phone
So OP did it work? could you unlock band 4?
I've been following this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5/how-to/progress-trying-to-unlock-bands-t3337476/page71. Nothing good has happened so far on b20.
