So you can't get fastboot or flash mode anymore? Do you know how to force power-off, (hold power and vol up - might take 3 seconds might take 8 seconds)? Probably not a real hard brick if all you did was flash a recovery.

Try fastboot via command prompt, 'fastboot devices', and see if it shows up. Look for blue led when you connect. If you have drivers installed, you can flash kernel and recovery that way. Make sure it's powered off. It might not be clear, since you're stuck on black screen, so follow force-power-off instructions above. That may be why you get that FT error.
Problem fixed
I didn't try cmd but I followed pc notifications for drivers and flashtool worked. I flashed another recovery by fastboot mode and device back to normal
you have my thanks

As I don't own a Z1 a can't tell you. I have basic knowledge of recoveries process but for the roms, every phone models works on different ways. CM12.1 seems to be mature on your phone so it is weird. Maybe someone else can help you.
Good luck!

So I was about to root my Xperia S and started reading a guide, it said that I would need to load some files into the phone using fastboot. After a while I figured out how to fastboot and managed to get the popup on my computer once, however, I didn't install it that time and now when I try to fastboot again I get the blue LED on my phone, my computer makes some noises indicating that something unusual have been conected, nothing happens and the phone shows the Sony logo.
Does anybody know how to fix the problem and get the popup on the computer to re apear.
I run a 64 bit windows 7 home premium.
Thanks.

So for Unlocking Bootloader You have to use fastboot mode.. ok
and after that, for rooting it should be done using flashtool in fastboot mode..
so here is the thing.. Download The Flashtool first And After extracting the files You'll Find a Folder Named Drivers.. first Install The Fastboot Drivers Even To Unlock The Bootloader..

Hello I have an Xperia S, with bootloader locked and recently installed a ROOM in order to get the 6.A.1.2.55 with root.
Installed from a ZIP from recovery mode following this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2009672
Now when I try to do step 7 (flash kernel and Baseband) Using Flashtool, Im unable to enter to the mode; when the windows prompts me, I turn off the phone, press and hold Vol up connect the USB but nothing happens, only the Sony Logo and then the icon of charging battery, I also tried to turn off the phone while holding Power button + Vol up (at the same time) and get the 3 vibrations, but the same result when I connect, the logo and the charging animations/icon..( no LED of any color or anything)
Im using the latest Flashtool version (0.9.9.0) with the drivers intalled (even though Windows security constantly pestered me about not being able to identify the source and signture) on Windows 7 64 bits..
Thank you..

hi, i have the same problem my phone goes away from fastboot state very soon! i cant do anything using fastboot.exe.
(Xperia acro s) blue led turned on and after a few seconds sony trade mark shown!
Hi,
First time poster here. I've done a lot of searching to find people with the same problem but can't. Sorry if it's out there and I've missed it.
Essentially I’m worried that I’ve bricked my Xperia S (running ICS). My problem is this:
First I rooted using this link: http://www.xperiagamer.com/Beginners-Guides/rooting-xperia-s.html
Then I installed CWM Recovery using the RecoverX project: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1773227
Then I tried to flash cyanogenmod 9 but failed.
I saw somewhere that it mught help to flash XTXperience so I did that. This failed and my Xperia S boots up to the Sony sign then fails and starts again just cycling through.
I can't get in to fastboot mode via CWM or otherwise. When plugged in to the laptop it is recognised but the computer can’t find the drivers (I've tried to instal manually) and then the phone reboots so the computer can no longer see it.
Can anyone help please??!!
Thanks

Keep pressing Unlock key + Volume Down key until you get 3 vibrates.
The phone is now off and you can connect it into flashmode and reflash your ics firmware.
The other thing you can do is going into CWM and wipe data and cache (that worked once for me when I had a bootloop)
--> you will lose all your data.
For CM you first have to install the kernel via fastboot and then go into CWm and flash the CM.zip file.

Thanks but that doen't seem to work. All i can get it to do is turn off with power and volume up. When it comes back on again it just cycles through again.
Can't get it to communicate with the computer at all - it recognises it but can't find drivers. then the phone disconnects itself in the reboot.

Read everything carefully. Chances of bricking a Sony device is quite low because of Sony's dev support but you will have moments of anxiety and lots of torn hairs. As a way to start, please go through all the top stickied posts in the Dev section and understand what are the many processes happening. It doesn't take more than a couple of hours to go through them but in the long run, helps you to enjoy your device better. Hope you will have a good time with the S
hi guys, need some help here. I'll try to keep this short and precise to describe how i ended up in the problem
i did not have (and do not have) any custom recovery installed before this day, never needed to go in recovery mode.
1. Root using TowelRoot app (no problem so far)
2. Installed SuperSu app (no problem so far)
3. Unlocked bootloader using Fastboot and followed official sony guides
---after unlocking the bootloader, phone went in bootloop. It can go in Fastboot mode. It can go in FlashTool Mode, but when I tried flashing FTF file, it ended up in boot again. instead of Sony logo + colourful animation. now it's stuck at sony logo only.
I tried using Sony PCC, to repair it but it says there's any error, can't proceed - it's a dead end.
Do you think it's cause I actioned in incorrect order i.e. should have unlocked bootloader first before rooting?
Thanks for all the help/advices/direct links.

Hi,
I tried to install TWRP (by a lot of different methods) but they didn't work. I was also have a fastboot & flashtool driver problem so I couldn't install it using computer either.
One day I saw an app in the play store called ROM Installer. I downloaded it and tried to flash twrp.img using it. It said flashing was succesful. Now I rebooted my phone to recovery (by the NDR Utils app) but it was just powered off and than red LED lighted up. After 20 minutes I removed the battery. (It didn't react to anything else) Then I tried to boot it but it didn't react. (nor boot to recovery or boot to safemode)
After 5 hours when I tried to boot it again it showed that battery is exhausted (by the red LED) I connected it to charger but it didn't do anythig except the LED lighting. If I disconnect it it shows the -exhausted battery sign- again.
If I connect it to my computer the red LED lights up but nothing else. The computer doesn't recognise it. I have no idea how to power it again.
Really thanks guys to help me.
PS I'm a novice so pls be patient (and sorry for my mistakes as well)

are you sure your device is really on unlocked bootloader condition? if that really on unlocked bootloader condition you only need to wipe data via flashtool. BTW install recovery on stock rom is only using flashtool for safe way. and usually CWM is only work on stock rom but if you want TWRP you can using FOTARecovery. i think that from kernel problem, cause if you install any recovery from app in playstore they will change your kernel with another kernel that have recovery mode. but if that kernel isn't compatible with your phone, your phone will soft brick. are you sure you have problem with flashmode and fastboot driver on your pc? i can tell you advanced than this if you can tell me which OS do you using it right now on your pc.
Don't worry your phone not fully broken

Driver problems: When I connect the phone in fastboot mode the flashtool usually says: device not found - install the drivers from... I installed the drivers of my phone but it still didn't worked. I tried to update the 's1 boot fastboot' driver in device manager (picked the winusb inf file) but it said that that was a problem during installing: adb interface is missing. (but now I can't boot my device into fastboot mode)

hi,first of all my English isn't very good, sorry for that. my phone (Sony Xperia S (LT26i)) is dead and i can't turn it ON it also can't keep his charge even sometimes it was charging. So i decided to change my battery. I bought a BA800 battery and change it myself according to a video i saw on YouTube. after all my phone doesn't start up even i plug in it to adapter. just sometimes the logo of a repair appears and after few minutes it dissapers. when i plug in it to electricity the LED will be red. i don't know what is the problem !?
a repair man said that a new battery is ruined. so he change to a new battery but it doesn't start again and he says that it most be flashed but he can't flash it!
i myself searching internet and follow up structures (download flashtool, installing drivers, download ftf,....) but now when i press volume down my phone doesn't connect to PC. before it i haven't such a problem, i don't know what i have changed! please help me. my phone doesn't start up anymore and i can't change usb debugging mode or mtp. in device manage has yellow trianlges on some part including MTP USB device,Android device(Sony AFBI interface, sony composite ADB interface, sony fastboot interface),61833 class buss device.
