Are there any ways to get better sound quality on your ringtones ? I have tried a couple of equalisers but havent noticed any difference in the sound quality.

why dont you try custom rom cm11 by TC ?
they have built in equalizer, which has good quality and efficient (low) power usage

DSP Manager is ok. But after you try out ViPER4Android, I believe you'd remove DSP Manager quickly. There are other audio mods as well, but V4A is all I need.
Do you also notice improvement without using earphones with the ViPER4Android ? For me getting better ringtone sound is enough

When I play music via phone speaker, there is a difference in the volume when you have V4A on vs having it off (depending in the setting in V4A of course).
If I remember right, V4A also works for system sounds aside from the music player, so I assume that this applies to ringtone sounds as well..

all in all im satisfied with the soundquality of my sultanized op3 but i want to push quality to the limits and get even more.
There are a lot audiomods out there but... hands up, which audio mod do you use on sultans CM13 for OP3?
Do you have "proof" for getting better sound? Do you REALLY hear any difference with speakers / BT / earphones?

I'm using ARISE mod on sultan cm 13 ROM..I'm impressed with audio quality in both speaker and headset...u just backup UR current setup and just flash arise deuteronomy and feel the difference..

No need to change selinux to permissive....if u want Dolby atomos then u must change selinux to permissive.
Description : activate the HIFI sound, and therefore not any compression, the output of the sound high quality earphones (not worth checking out on the music of low quality) note MI sound, now all presenty for different headphones sound completely different (again need good headphones, I use headphones from galaxy s7 edge, a new sound makes me happy).
Usually use the stock player, but also players Poweramp and PlayerPro showed not bad results.
For firmwares MIUI 8

As I remember the CYANOGEN mod is already present by default, but still better to check, look in the directory system/etc file mixer_paths_wcd9326.xml upload it to cloud storage and send me a personal message.

Yes it works, I did it by comparing the mixer from stock and this modified one, and then find the difference and it only changing one line.
i'm downloading for testing. i'm use the Lineage OS 13 by @fedosis
edit: I noticed a significant improvement using the headphones. I use Mi Piston Basic. Thanks bro.

Procedure:
1. (For Nougat) Extract and replace "mixer_paths_tasha.xml" in root/system/etc
2. (For Oreo) Extract and replace "mixer_paths_tasha.xml" in
root/system/vendor/etc
3. Change the permissions to rw-r--r--
4. Restart your mobile
Note:
I won't be responsible if anything goes wrong.
Please backup your original stock file just in case.

Headphone volume in Soundmod 1.0 is louder than Soundmod 2.0
Awesome! but i noticed that the sound quality and volume on ringtone is worse compared to music players and other stuff. for example i play a music and its sound is awesome through both speakers but when i set the same file as ringtone and test call on my phone the ringtone is much much lower. im gonna try this to see if this make a difference to that

the mod is working as expected but the speaker is too loud now for me XD
thats why i want the original file pls
but imma install this mod on every friend's xzp who complains about sony speaker being too quiet

Bro, is version 1 and 2 exactly the same, only 2 being louder for headphone? Otherwise loudspeaker, gaming/earpiece the same?
When doing voice calls/Skype/Viber?messenger is the earpiece/loudspeaker louder than stock? Have you enabled stereo speakers when loudspeaker phone call?
Compatible with both Nougat and Oreo?

This one is for nougat buddy.. Sony has changed the values for stereo speakers on a voice call.. I'm trying different combinations to enable it.. Will share once its done..

Unfortunately did not work for me.
Upon rebooting my device I get ''sound settings'' error message followed by a low buzzing sound and no sound.
I had to copy the stock.zip default back to get my sound working again.
Could you please look into this?
My device is the XZ Premium Dual G8142.
My device has unlocked bootloader and is rooted with recovery. All instructions were followed including setting the mixer_paths to RW-R-R, not working.
Didn't find the mixer file in system/etc

this mod makes the sound too loud and eventually all the music make crackling noise
btw. can you find out why ringtone volume and bass is worse compared to music player? its on every firmware ever released for this phone.

My rooting days are over, I'm looking for a Viper4Android alternative
Unfortunately there is no alternative for v4a. I'm also searching last two years but there is really no alternative. Either rooting or no v4a, that's simple for understanding!

A great alternative to Viper for non-rooted devices is using Neutron Music Player.
With proper configuration it can sound really good. Moreover, it has native support for hi-res audio. Viper's main disadvantage is it down/up samples to 48Khz and limits the bit depth to 16 bit. The S20 family of devices have powerful DACs capable of 384Khz/32 Bit audio so if you have hi-res audio files it would work well. The only disadvantage to using Neutron is its learning curve. It's not as user-friendly as Viper but can sound about as good with the right setup.
A good equaliser that does boost the sound is Mega equaliser , but be carefull as you could blow your speakers with the loudness togle , its free with ads or without ads for $1.49 from inside the app , works perfect on my note 10+ and note 9

ffs mate dont post cracked apps on here especially from that site that just pushes so much adware
I use Stellio music player, which have plenty of sound enhancements and is, IMHO, the closest to Viper I used on previous rooted phones.

Got it working by
1. Install viper
2. Open it
3. Tap on install 'drivers' (your phone will reboot
immediately)
4. 0pen Viper and enjoy
If it doesn't work the first time, install drivers again
There was no need to flash any other module in magisk.

my device sm-g9860 snapdragon model (rooted) doesnt work
need help. Viper4Android installed and working via Magisk. As soon as I am on the home screen, it switches off in the background. If I start viper4android it runs again immediately. Now the strange... When I start the browser, for example, viper is running. Music runs in the background. Except on the home screen. When the screen turns off, viper is off again. What could be the reason for this?
